China Glaze Reggae to Riches

What what?? Out of the blue post? Yes! Out of the blue post indeed! I initially titled this post Revlon Reggae to Riches as my love for alliteration almost got the best of me :P. This is actually a China Glaze polish called Reggae to Riches which was released long before my polish loving time. I first saw it on Scrangie's blog and immediately fell in love! I bought it quite some time ago but OF COURSE I didn't break it out till now. Le duh, you guys should expect no less from me :P ... Anyway, RtR is a beautiful fuchsia (read: NOT fuschia --> fun fact... I just say "f@#&, see yah" in my head to spell it correctly...yeah, cool story bro) with a sometimes subtle, sometimes vibrant electric blue shimmer. Here are the pics! First off, some with flash:

And because I'm a picture h00r, moar pics! No flash to catch the blue shimmer:

@_@ Ermahgerd y'all... it's sooo puuurdy! *fans self* I noticed that my swatches are a lot darker than most I've seen online. This is most likely due to my penchant for thick (and I mean thick) polish coats. I like 'em thick, okay?! Don't judge me! I must sound a little cray right now. Maybe it's the excitement of coming back from hiatus to write a new blog post?? Whatever it may be, thanks for reading... I know I've been so bad with updating but you guys still show love! Weee! Happy Monday and I hope everyone has a great start to the new week! :D

China Glaze Sun Worshiper

Oh hay gurl haaaaaaay. I will cut right to the chase! Today's bright and fun mani is Sun Worshiper from China Glaze's Summer 2010 Poolside Collection. As per usual, my camera freaked out in the presence of this neon beauty.

Sunlight with flash

Dude, it glooooows! Application was streaky, however -- this took about 3-4 coats and I had to let them dry in between. I did try to make the coats a little thicker as I went on to even out the lines but they don't seem too noticeable in pictures. I didn't apply a white base for this and it was still bright as all heck. Yay for awesome neons! This dried to a pseudo matte/suede finish so top coat was definitely a must.

One last reminder: tomorrow is the last day for my giveaway! Entries will be accepted until 11:59pm and I will announce the winner on the 20th! Hooray!!! *dances*

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend

Are you guys getting tired of my gradient manis yet? I hope not =). I had some fun with today's Lazy Weekend post. Check it out!

Such a fun combo!

A couple more pics for fun. Enlarge to see it in full size!

My base was China Glaze For Audrey -- a Tiffany blue of course. My tips were covered with "diamond-like" OPI Crown Me Already. What do you guys think?? I personally love it! =D And oh yeah, that is TOTALLY a real Tiffany & Co. necklace*... uh huh.... Thanks for reading guys!

* Yeaaaah, no. Got this as a gift from a friend who was vacationing in China lololol

Tuxedo Nails

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been well. As you've noticed, there are a few small changes to my blog. I stayed up late last night tinkering with a few layouts and such. I hope everything is now easier to read and the site is easier to navigate (not that it was a big problem before, I don't think). Bonus pop out Facebook "like" tab on the side and Pinterest buttons below every post, yay! Now onto more important business...

I always wanted to do a tuxedo mani but never had the time or patience to sit down and figure out how I wanted to go about doing so. Well that no longer is true! Let's take a look at what I came up with, shall we?

I used China Glaze White on White, a slightly off white creme, for the base and Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris for the tuxedo "accents". I actually used tape for the edges and just free handed the ties and buttons with dotting tools. This mani was quite easier than I had anticipated so I'm glad it wasn't as big of a pain in the bum as I initially thought it would be. So what do you guys think? Am I ready for my formal dinner and acceptance speech? =P Have any of you guys tried any tuxedo manis as of late or even in the past for that matter?

Also, I'd like to say a quick thank you to all my followers! I passed the 300 mark several days ago and that just made my day. You guys are wonderful -- I appreciate all your support! Stay awesome, you awesome people you. =P Giveaway details coming sometime in the near future...

A Hello Kitty Valentine's Day

Why hello all you beauties out there. Did you all have a lovely Valentine's Day? I sure hope so! Today's polish is kinda special. This mani actually features the first salon-esque polish I ever bought before I became seriously addicted in love (oh, how apropo!) with nail polish =). I walked into my local Ulta searching for a nice red to go with a black cocktail dress I had in mind for a special event. The color I ended up with was China Glaze High Roller - a true red creme that leaned ever-so-slightly towards the jellyish side. This was my first ever China Glaze peeps!!! And then you could probably guess what happened soon after that *shifty eyes towards polish stash*...

Anyway! If you're wondering why my accent nail looks so familiar, it's because it's also featured in my profile picture! This was the first type of nail art I ever did and I thought it was only fitting to dedicate this mani to my first loves. So naturally this had to include Hello Kitty ^_^. Without further ado, here is my Valentine's Day mani...

I used the LA Colors Art Deco striping polishes to freehand the Hello Kitty onto my accent nail and finished it off with a simple french using China Glaze's Ring in the Red from the most recent 2011 Winter Holiday collection.  Hope you guys like it and hope you all got to celebrate with your sweethearts! Thanks for reading guys! XOXO

Gloomy Grey Glitter Gradient

You see what I did with the title there? =P Sooo, two things for today's post:
1. It is raining cats and dogs here!
2. It's baaaaaack... the lazy weekend post, that is! On to the pictures!

This was Zoya Harley with a matte top coat and a glitter gradient using China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara. Happy Sunday, folks!
