Disneyland
So two weeks ago Ty's parents, sister and niece came to town. We all went and celebrated Nana's birthday at Disneyland!! We had so much fun! We had park hopper tickets, so we spent the first day at Disneyland and the next day at both, Disneyland and California Adventures. Joey didn't especially have a lot of fun the first day, and I'm pretty sure it's because we went on Snow White's Scary Adventures first and she's afraid of the dark, plus she doesn't know the story, so the witch probably scared her. She even cried all through "It's a small world." Poor kid. The next day however she had a blast. She couldn't get enough of riding rides!! She saw a few characters she knows, but refused to go up and meet them. Then we came back home and just chilled. It was fun. Oh, the first day we don't have pictures of because we took our camcorder, but didn't take a memory stick to record anything onto (bummer for us). So everything is from the second day.

Am I 4?
Yesterday morning Joey woke up, came in the office (where I was at the moment), and asked "Am I 4 yet? That's this many (and she held up 4 fingers)." When I told her no, she said, "Well it's taking too long to turn 4!" She wants to be 4 because that's when you are a big girl. Right now she's a big little girl.

Locks of Love
We have decided it's almost time to cut Joey's hair. It's getting so long it's now down to her waist. Sometimes that makes it very difficult to do. Joey is still traumatized from her last experience with getting her hair cut, so I'm not sure yet how this one will turn out. Anyway, my friend is a hair dresser and I was asking her opinion on what we should do with Joey's hair. You know, how short, layered or not... those kinds of things. She said I should wait a few more months and cut her hair super short and donate it to locks of love. I thought this was a wonderful idea since my dad so recently lost his hair to chemo. So we've been talking a lot with Joey about how when we have Brooke cut her hair, we are going to donate it so that kids who have lost their hair like Bop-Bop can have something on their heads. She seems ok with the idea now. I told her we were going to cut her hair and then watch it grow back, and she laughed and said, "Silly mom. It won't grow back." We have come past that now so that she wants to always grow her hair long like this so she can always cut it short to give to people. I don't mind as I see it as good service she can give people. This picture is just of how long her hair is now. Yes, it's right before bed and I've already done her hair, but it's just easier that way sometimes.

Hooray for a back fence
Well, we don't have the back fence yet, but Saturday it could very possibly be done. Why am I so excited? We tore our old fence out about 2 months ago, so we've had a half finished back fence for a very long time. Now why am I so sure this Saturday we will make progress? Well, the parents of the neighborhood boys who shot out our windows came over with the kids today. They were just going to pay for the window but 1)it seemed like they'd be getting off too easy for destroying property, and 2)we just sent the car to my parents to have the last few things removed before it gets junked. So we told them we needed a back fence put up and they seemed ok with doing that for us. I'm not sure this will make them dislike us any less, but hopefully they will see we aren't all that bad of people.

Spring is on the way
Since I've been told that I've been a slacker at posting, I'm going to try to post several things over the next few days to catch up. First off is the fact that spring is on the way!! Know how I can tell? We picked our first pea pod a few weeks ago and got to eat the peas from it. Joey loves loves loves to grow and pick peas. It never really seemed like winter here though because I never saw a lot of geese. Canadian geese usually winter here in the valley and everything is covered with their poop, but not this year. I don't know why they weren't here, but because of it, it seemed like winter never happened. Anyway, here are pictures of out pea plants and the first pod that was picked.
