All you can eat crayfish @ IKEA on Aug 19th!!

Before I say anything else, I just want to state that this is not a paid post and I am not being compensated in any way by IKEA. I was surfing through IKEA's website the other day and came to know about this promotion. It sounds like an awesome deal, so I figured I'll share it with all of you. In honor of their Swedish roots, IKEA would hold a "kraftskiva" (crayfish party) sometime in August every year. This year, it will be on the 19th of August, in all IKEAs nationwide. For those of you who don't know (myself included!), the "kraftskiva" is one of the most important social events in Sweden. Friends would gather to feast on crayfish while partying the night away. From what I understand, this is a very popular event and tickets run out pretty fast. So, Kevin and I decided to drive out to IKEA to get ourselves 2 tickets before they are all gone.

For only $9.99, you get an adult ticket and that gets you entrance as well as unlimited crayfish (as well as other food items) to the Crayfish Party. Kids only pay $2.49! Check out the menu for the all you can eat buffet below.

Tossed green salad
Cucumber salad
Hard boiled eggs with mayo and shrimp
Shelled on prawns with cocktail sauce
NAJAD salmon with horseradish or mustard sauce

Crispbread, Criprolls, Dinner rolls
Assorted Swedish cheese
Meatballs with Lingonberries
Crayfish
Mashed Potatoes
Boiled Dill New Potatoes

Assorted Swedish desserts and cookies
Coffee, tea and fountain beverages

Not bad for $9.99, right? We have gotten tickets for the Crayfish Party at the IKEA in Port Elizabeth, NJ. If any of you are planning to be there, drop us a line. We'll see you there!! Now, let's get this crayfish party started!! Woot woot!!!

Pizza Hut's Cheesy Bites Pizza!

We were watching our usual Thursday night NBC marathon (30 Rock, The Office, Outsourced, The Apprentice) on TV last week when we saw the ad for Pizza Hut's new promotion. Looks like they have brought back the Cheesy Bites pizza! Oh what joy! I have tried it once, a very very long time ago and I remembered it to be totally awesome. I am not saying that it's the healthiest thing around but it sure tasted great! Since we already had dinner that night, we said that we MUST head out to Pizza Hut to pick up one for dinner the following day. Yes, I know. The powers of advertisement! :P
The Cheesy Bites Pizza comes in only one size and it's going for $11.99. That gets you one large (total of 28 cheese filled bites!) one topping pizza. For an additional $2, you can upgrade it to a specialty or three topping pizza. So, on Friday night, we ordered the Cheesy Bites Pizza online and headed out to the Pizza Hut in Belleville, NJ to pick it up. It kinda sucks that Pizza Hut doesn't deliver to our area :( Anyways, they said that our pizza will be ready in about 25 minutes (at 6:50pm). We arrived at around 6:55pm and that particular Pizza Hut was filled with people. It was seriously in total chaos! We had to stand there for a good 15 minutes before anybody asked us if we wanted a table, to order take out or if we wanted to collect our pizza. The phones were ringing off the hooks, customers were just getting all impatient (many of them ended up leaving), it was just horrible. When we told them that we had already ordered our pizza and it should be ready at 6:50pm, they said that it wasn't ready and we had to wait another 20mins to half an hour!! Seriously, how long does it take to make a pizza? To make things worse, we didn't see many pizzas coming out from the kitchen. I really don't know what they were doing in there. We finally got our pizza at around 7:35! Very horrible service.
Ahhhhhh, here is our yummy Cheesy Bites Pizza. Since we were utterly disappointed with our Bacon Chocolate Bar the other day, we needed our Bacon fix. So, we ordered a Bacon Cheesy Bites Pizza. Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmm, I can feel my arteries clogging just by thinking about it but it really tasted oh so good! Each bite was filled with tons of melted ooey gooey cheese and the garlic butter seasoning was awesome too. One bite and you are in heaven. Definitely worth the long wait and bad service. If it wasn't so fattening and unhealthy, I would eat it every single day! Hmmm, maybe we should order it again this weekend :P

Omaha Steaks - Fantastic Feast Promo!

We have been getting tons of mail (both snail mail and email) from Omaha Steaks for the longest time. There is always some sort of promotion going on. Kevin said that his grandparents always ordered their steaks from Omaha Steaks back in the day and he remembered them to be pretty good. He said that we should try ordering from them one of these days but we just never got around to it.We received a brochure in the mail a while back and we thought that it was a pretty good deal. Their Fantastic Feast package was going for only $49.99! Usually, promotion price for Fantastic Feast would be $69.99 (original retail price is $170!) but it was $49.99 this time around! Not only that, you get a few free gifts too. So, we decided to give it a try.
At first, we were wondering how they would ship all that meat to us. We knew that it will come in a huge reusable cooler but we were not sure if the meat would stay frozen and stuff. When our order arrived, we were really pleased to find dry ice in the cooler! So, everything was still nice and frozen. Here's what it looks like inside the cooler.
Check out all the stuff that's inside the cooler! Yes...it was a BIG cooler! :P Everything was nicely packed and labeled in individual boxes. There was also cooking instructions and nutrition labels printed on the boxes. They also included a booklet filled with awesome recipes. :D
Here's all the stuff that's in the Fantastic Feast package. 2 x Stuffed Sole with Scallops and Crab meat, 8 x Gourmet Franks, 4 x Top Sirloin Steaks, 4 x Stuffed Baked Potatoes, 4 x Boneless Pork Chops, 4 x Chicken Breast and 4 x Omaha Steak Burgers. That's a lot of food for $49.99!!
Remember I said earlier that the Fantastic Feast also came with a free gifts? Well, the original package comes with 4 pieces of Omaha Steak Burgers. Omaha Steaks threw in another 4, making it 8 pieces in total! The burgers were awesome actually, we have been grilling them up over the past few weeks.....sooooo good!
We also got a 6 piece cutlery set and a cutting board. A chefs knife, carving knife, boning knife, utility knife, paring knife and a sharpening steel. The knives aren't the best quality knives but hey, they are free! :P Overall, I think that the amount of food that we got was worth the $49.99 (even if they didn't give us the free cutlery set and cutting board :P). Yes, the portion were kinda small but taking that into consideration, I felt that it was still worth it. We will be keeping our eyes out for more Omaha Steaks deals in the future!

The Celebrity Apprentice Snapple

I don't know how many of you follow reality shows, but Kevin and I are huge reality show fans. Apart from the Amazing Race, The Apprentice comes in a close second. The past Celebrity Apprentice was one of my all time favorites, with the celebrities raising so much money for their charities and also the drama of Bret falling sick (and wondering if he would make it for the finale). When Trump revealed their final task, I was so excited. You see, both Kevin and I loveeee Snapple (it's our fav drink!) and the celebrities were given the task to create a new flavor for Snapple as well as design the packaging and shoot a commercial for Snapple. Then, both the flavors would be on sale to the American public and portions of the sale will go to their charity.
So, after the finale, we went all over to search for the Celebrity Apprentice Snapple but we couldn't find any. Then, a few weeks ago, we started to see Holly's Snapple pop up at various shops but we still couldn't find Brets. At last we found both Holly and Bret's Snapple (there were only a few cases of Brets on display, tucked away in some corner) in Shoprite a few days ago and we decided to give it a taste test. We all know by now that Bret won the Celebrity Apprentice, but was his Snapple really the better tasting one?
Before we get into the taste test, let's take look at the packaging (since that is part of the task too!). Unlike the regular Snapple products, both Holly and Bret's Snapple had dark colored labels. The Snapple executives were right when they said that it was a bad move, on the celebrities part to choose such dark colors. When you look at the bottles on the supermarket shelves, together with the other Snapple flavors, it really doesn't stand out at all. It just sort of blends into the background. Now, what about the name of the product? Bret's diet Snapple is called "Trop A Rocka". I guess it's becos his used a blend of tropical fruits, hence "Trop" and he also wanted to keep to the rock n roll theme that he was going for. Not too bad of a name, but it isn't really all that. Also, I noticed that there is only a small logo of his charity on one side of the packaging and he focused mainly on him endorsing the drink, rather than the charity. It's more like this is a Bret Michaels creation. Holly's Snapple on the other hand had a really smart name. It's called "Compassionberry Tea", since it was a blend of Passionfruit, Strawberry and the compassionate care that her charity has for autistic children. Very smart name. Also, you can see from her packaging that it was all about her charity. The charity name (Hollyrod Foundation) is plastered in front of the package and there is even a short write up about her charity and what they do on the side panel. So, in terms of color, packaging and name choice, I would say that Holly wins!
Now, the taste test. First up is Holly Robinson Peete's Compassionberry Tea. It was really fun to watch the episode where they had a chance to go to Snapples taste lab and choose flavors for their creation. I feel that Holly made the right choice to fight for Passionfruit (Bret also wanted passionfruit but gave that up to Holly). When you first open the bottle, you can already smell the fragrant smell of passionfruit. Upon tasting, I felt that it was a tad bit too sweet and the taste of strawberry can be a little bit overpowering at times. I only wish they had gone slow with the strawberry and added in a little bit more passionfruit. Do not get me wrong, it wasn't bad. Just that, it wasn't really the greatest as well. However, with that said, I still can see myself drinking this. So, good job Holly.

I was a little bit excited to try Bret's Trop A Rocka because he is the Celebrity Apprentice winner and this is the winning Snapple flavor. I also kept in mind that this is diet Snapple, so it is going to be a little bit more diluted tasting and not as sweet. When I first opened the bottle, there was this really weird smell that I couldn't really place. I was thinking to myself, coconut? It was really weird. I then drank a big mouthful and all I could say was "OMG! This won???" Let me just say it straight up. It's horrible! When it first hits your mouth, you do get a little taste of the mango and pear blend (which I feel isn't really that great of a combination). However, that taste doesn't last long at all. The tropical fruit blend fades away and this horrible tasting, somewhat spicy tasting thing take over. It just hits you hard. That's the same horrible smell that hit me when I opened the bottle. I really couldn't place that taste but once Kevin tried it, he told me it was cinnamon! Yes! That's it! Cinnamon! Wayyy wayyy wayyyy too much cinnamon. It just made the whole drink taste awful! I thought that Curtis and Maria was just faking it when they said that it tasted horrible but I guess they were not. It is bad! Very bad. Now I understand why we couldn't find many of Bret's Snapple on sale. I guess Snapple also knew that it wouldn't sell well and only made limited amounts.

So, in conclusion, I feel that if the choice of who wins Celebrity Apprentice is based solely on this Snapple task, Holly should have won hands down. Not only was her packaging better, her choice of name for her creation and taste was also better. I do not want to be mean, but if Bret didn't get that brain hemorrhage and fought to come back for the finale, would he still have won? I seriously don't think so. Therefore, in my eyes, Holly is the Celebrity Apprentice. That title was robbed from her, just for TV ratings. I think it takes no genius to figure that out. Now, will you please excuse me. I am going to get myself another bottle of Compassionberry Tea =)

Any Large Papa Johns Pizza for $10!!

We wanted to order in some pizza for the England vs. USA match last weekend, so I went online to see what are some of the latest pizza specials. With this on going 'pizza wars' among all the big pizza delivery companies, who knows what deals I might find.
Remember me blogging about the promotion Pizza Hut is having? Yeah, $10 for any pizza. Well, almost any pizza. If you wanted a stuffed crust, then you would have to add on another $2 for it. Guess what? Papa Johns is now doing that too! You can get any large Papa Johns pizza for 10 bucks! Unlike Pizza Hut, there are no exceptions. All large pizzas means all large pizzas. This includes all of their speciality pizzas as well as the create your owns. With the create your owns, you can add up to 7 toppings per pizza. Now, THAT'S a good deal!

I was ready to order when I found out that you can "Papa Size" your large pizza to an XL pizza for an additional $2. That's not bad at all. This means you can get a 30% bigger pizza for only $2 more. I cannot remember ever getting an XL 16" pizza for $12! We chose to "Papa Size" our pizza and created our own heavenly pie. We piled on spicy Italian sausages, ham, bacon, pepperoni, extra cheese, onions and half with green peppers and the other half with mushrooms. Yummy yummy yummy! As usual, the pizza arrived piping hot, in about half an hour. Looks like Papa Johns hit a home run this time around with this promotion. Boy, Dominos better come up with something good soon, or else, they will be left behind in this crazy 'pizza wars'!

National Donut Day 2010

For those of you who don't know, today is National Donut Day! No, it's not some 'new holiday' created by donut companies but it actually has been celebrated since 1938, when it first began to honor women who served soldiers donuts during WWI. So, since then, every first Friday in June is National Donut Day!
We were out grocery shopping earlier this evening and on our way home, I remembered that Dunkin Donuts is giving away one free donut with a beverage purchase the whole of today. Actually, Krispy Kreme is giving out free donuts all day too (and we don't have to buy anything), but the nearest Krispy Kreme is in NYC...so, yeah, it's not worth it to go all the way there just for a donut! :P Anyways, since it was so hot and humid today, we really didn't mind going to Dunkin Donuts to get a nice icy cold Coolatta. So, we stopped by the Dunkin Donuts (not our usual one) near the grocery store to get our drinks and free donuts.
Now, here is when it gets interesting. Firstly, let me say that Dunkin Donuts has been really promoting this free donut thing. It's everywhere. On TV, in the newspapers, all over the Internet, heck, there is even a poster right in the middle of their glass door when we walked in (I took that photo later on, when we were on our way out). How difficult was it to buy a drink and get that free donut? I told Kevin that we better ask the guy again about the promotion...he looked really shady and I didn't want him to screw us over by selling us the drink and not giving us the free donut (I know, it's just a donut, but it's a matter of principle and not about us wanting some free donuts). So, we asked him if they are giving away free donuts today. He looked at us straight in the eye and said "YOU want ME to give YOU a free donut?". We were like "Yeah, National Donut Day? Free donut promo? Buy a drink and get a donut for free?". He then repeated himself again, like we were total morons...like why in the world would we ask him for free donuts. He had like bloodshot eyes and had this really thick Indian accent. Maybe he was on crack, who knows. I really don't know what his deal was, but he just had no clue of the promo and acted like we were crazy to ask him for free donuts. I was getting a bit irritated and was about to walk out when another guy came over and said, you have to buy a drink, THEN you get a free donut. Like doh! Of course we are buying a drink. We just asked if you are participating in the promo and giving out free donuts today! Geeezzzz...
Anyways, I ordered a Watermelon Coolatta and despite saying "Watermelon Coolatta" for like 5 million times, he kept on saying "Strawberry?". What's wrong with that guy??? Watermelon doesn't sound like Strawberry at all!! At last he said "oh watermelon" and asked me what size I wanted. Before I could say anything, the other guy told him "just make it a large!". I was like WTH! Who said I wanted a large?I told him medium and Kevin ordered a medium Strawberry Coolatta. If you noticed, I took the picture of the Coolattas in the car, cos Kevin didn't want me taking pictures inside the store. I guess he didn't want them to jump over the counter to beat us up or something, I don't know. Anyways, for the record, both the Coolattas sucked big time! Not only were they super watered down, they tasted really weird too. Terrible terrible. I'd rather drink water instead of this yucky Coolattas. At first I thought my Watermelon was really bad, then I tried Kevin's Strawberry...even worse! Just horrible.

Soooo, here it is. The free donuts that got us into that terrible Dunkin Donuts in the first place. Two sad looking Boston Kreme donuts. What a night. Getting all irritated with having to deal with the two Dunkin Donut workers that probably doesn't even understand English all that well but thinks that they are the smartest people around, super yucky tasting Coolattas that cost us about 7 bucks...all for two Boston Kreme donuts. Worth it? Hell no! Please remind me to go to Krispy Kreme next year!

Pizza Hut: Any Pizza for $10!!

Man, you gotta love the pizza wars that started between all the pizza chains late last year. In their effort to out do each other, we the consumers can only sit back, smile and continue to watch the prices of delivery pizza go down lower and lower. I know that this is not exactly a new promotion but I just never got around to blogging about it. In fact, I believe Pizza Hut started this $10 for any pizza deal sometime in Nov last year.
We were out grocery shopping a few weeks back and decided to order carryout from Pizza Hut (which was just next to the grocery store). This is our usual order and we have ordered this same line up countless times, since the promotion started in Nov. However, I only gotten around to take some pictures and blog about it this time around. :P
First up is the "Any Pizza for $10" deal. Firstly, let me point out that is it not exactly 'ANY' pizza for $10. If you want a stuffed crust pizza, you have to pay an additional $2. You know something? The stuffed crust is sooooooo yummy, it's definitely worth that $2. Apart from that, any other pizza (any size, any topping, any crust) is $10. We ordered a large Meat Lovers Stuffed Crust Pizza for only $12.
We also ordered a portion of Stuffed Pizza Rollers. Trust me, they are so so good! 4 pieces of super cheesy pepperoni rolls, with a choice of either marinara or ranch sauce. Guess what? They are only $5! You can also order their P'zone Pizza (it's basically a calzone) for only $5 too.

I just love Pizza Hut's Baked Wings. They are so large and juicy, it really puts all the other pizza delivery company's wings to shame. Here we have an order of 14 mild buffalo wings for $7. It comes with a free tub of Blue Cheese. Pizza Hut is definitely my favorite when it comes to delivery pizza but we rarely order from them because they used to be the most expensive. Now, with all this new deals, it looks as though they are on level playing field with the rest. I'm sorry Dominos and Papa Johns, looks like we will be getting our pizzas from Pizza Hut from now on (unless somebody comes up with an even better deal!).

Look what we won!

Man, you have to admit it. Marlboro has some of the best contests around! They run all kinds of sweepstakes all year around, always with totally awesome prizes. As many of you know, I won an awesome pair of sunglasses (worth over $100) early last year. Then came the big win! A fully paid 4 days 3 nights trip for two to the Marlboro Ranch. When they say fully paid, they mean fully paid. Everything was included, the airfare, accommodation, free food, free booze...I even got a check for $1,250! After we got back, Kevin was invited to their NYC Roadhouse Nights @ SoHo party where we enjoyed a steady flow of free food, drinks and music all night long. In between then and now, we won a few 'small' prizes in the various contest/sweeps by Marlboro. Among the prizes were ashtrays, wall mounted bottle openers, a money clip, wallet size bottle openers, zippo lighters, playing cards and some coffee beans.
The latest ongoing contest by Marlboro is the Flavor Break Sweeps. It started sometime mid March and it will go on til the end of this week. It's really simple actually. All we need to do is enter our emails daily at the Marlboro website. At the end of every week, there will be a drawing for various prizes. Week 1 was for a Viper Dartboard (worth $129), Week 2 was for a Weber Smokey Joe Grill (worth $39.70), Week 3 was for a Sony Noise Cancelling Headphone (worth $99.99), Week 4's prize was a Viper Pool Cue (worth $139.99) and Week 5 was for a Samsung HD Camcorder (worth $179).
A couple of weeks ago, Kevin received an email from Marlboro saying "You've Won A Sony® Lightweight Noise Cancelling Headphones‏"! Woohoo! How exciting. Looks like he was one of the Week 3 winners. We have never owned 100 bucks headphones before, so that will be pretty cool. From the reviews that we read online, those are a pretty decent pair of headphones :D

Think that is cool? Well, check this out! I woke up this morning only to find an email from Marlboro. Guess what it said? You've Won A Samsung® U10 Full HD Camcorder!! Wow! How awesome is that?? Out of all the prizes, this is what I wanted the most. We have been looking at HD Camcorders for quite a while now but we cannot justify spending money on one, so we just let the idea slip. Yay! Looks like we will be getting one for free now! The grand prize for this sweeps is a trip to Vegas for 4 people. The drawing ends this weekend. Let's keep our fingers crossed, who knows...maybe we might win that too..lol! :P

Throwback Pepsi & Mountain Dew

I don't know if you have been to the soda aisle at the grocery store lately. If you have, there is a high chance you might notice that Pepsi Co. has two new products out on the shelves. Throwback Pepsi and Throwback Mountain Dew! It's retro looking label caught our eye while we were walking by and since we are big Pepsi and Mountain Dew fans, we just had to try it! It says on the label that it's available for a limited time only and that it's made from REAL sugar. Interesting. Of course we also bought a bottle of regular Pepsi and regular Mountain Dew, so that we can do a taste test and compare it side by side.
First up, Pepsi. We noticed the difference the moment we opened the bottle. The throwback had way more fizz than the regular. Also, when we poured it out, the little bubbles lasted way longer than the regular Pepsi. Now, it really depends on what you like. Some people might think that it's good to have more fizz but I personally like to drink my sodas with less. That's one of the reasons why I prefer Pepsi to Coke. Less fizz. Alright, now the taste test. The regular Pepsi is a whole lot more sweeter compared to the throwback. In the taste test, the throwback wins hands down! It somewhat reminds me of a sweeter and less fizzy version of Coke. If you are one of those who can't really decide if you prefer Pepsi or Coke, the Throwback Pepsi is for you. It's somewhat of a mix between the two...iLike!

Next up, Mountain Dew. Firstly, I must say that Mountain Dew is our all time favorite soda. So, we were pretty excited to try out the throwback version. As opposed to the throwback Pepsi, the throwback Mountain Dew had way less fizz than the regular. In fact, it almost didn't have any fizz. Reminds me of the regular Mountain Dew, after you leave it out sitting in a glass for a while. The taste of the throwback also wasn't all that great. It had this weird after taste, and somewhat lack the refreshing taste that you always get from the regular Mountain Dew. I wouldn't go with the throwback if I were you. I've always loved the regular Mountain Dew taste and I guess, the New Dew wins!

Overall, I feel that Pepsi should just keep the Throwback Pepsi recipe and make it as their regular. It's really good and I'm pretty sure it will give Coke a run for their money. However, please do away with the Throwback Mountain Dew. We love the new Mountain Dew, oh yes we do!!

Domino's New Pizza Recipe

When it comes to delivery pizza, Papa Johns has always been our favorite. However, for the past year or so, Dominos has been coming out with many new menu items (example: Bread Bowl Pasta, Oven Toasted Sandwiches) that we would more than often end up ordering from Dominos instead. Because of the other items on the menu that we like, we would just 'tolerate' the not so nice tasting pizza. When we saw the ad on TV about Dominos giving their pizzas a total makeover, we were really excited to try it out.
We ordered a large hand tossed pie, with bacon on one side and sausage on the other. At first glance, the pie looks pretty much the same as always. However, upon closer inspection, it looks a tad more greasy compared to their old recipe. From the Dominos website, I learnt that they made three big significant change to their original recipe.
The crust it a totally new crust. It's supposed to be garlic - seasoned, with a buttery taste. The thing that I dislike most of Dominos pizza is their crust. So, is the crust better now? I would have to say yes. You can't really taste the garlic but the texture is more doughy and chewy. Reminds me somewhat of their breadsticks. The new Dominos crust now taste more like Papa Johns crust, so yes, it was definitely a good change.

Another thing they changed was their sauce recipe. The new sauce is supposed to be sweeter, infused with herbs and has a spicy red pepper kick. If it's really sweeter, then it's great! It would then taste more like Papa Johns sauce, which iLike! However, when I tried it, the sauce wasn't all that great. Yes, you can taste that it's different that the old sauce but it's not better. I feel that it had a weird after taste, maybe due to the herbs? Also, I didn't taste any spiciness at all from the red pepper. The third and final change is that their choose is now 100% real mozzarella, with a hint of provolone. Truthfully, it taste just the same to me. Cheese is cheese, no difference there. So, what do I think of the so called 'new & improved' Dominos pizza? I feel that the crust is definitely better but the sauce is a step down. Overall, Dominos is still one step below Papa Johns in terms of taste but they are always value for money (cheaper than Papa Johns). I guess we will continue to order from Dominos when we are low on cash or when we are in the mood for some toasted sandwiches or bread bowl and want to add on a pizza pie!

Free Medium Papa Johns Pizza!

I wanted to blog about this promo for quite a while now but never got around to it. I THINK it's still on, if not, Papa Johns always has great deals, promotions and sweepstakes going on constantly.
I became a fan of Papa Johns on Facebook not too long ago and entered my email for them to send me a coupon for a free pizza. I received this coupon in my mailbox a couple of days later, thanking me for being a fan of Papa John. The coupon had a promo code for a FREE medium cheese pizza with any online pizza order above $10. Each promo code is unique, so I cannot share the code with you guys here.
A few days later, we saw a promotion for a large Six Meats Pizza for only $10.99. So, we ordered that online and entered our free pizza code. True enough, a medium cheese pizza was added into our order for free. Since we are not really fans of just plain cheese pizzas, we added one topping to the pizza for $1.65. Within half an hour of placing the order online, two boxes of piping hot pizza arrived at our door! :D Wanna see inside the box?
Mmmm mmmm mmmmm, don't they look good? Wanna see a close up?
This is the large Six Meat Pizza. For only $10.99, it's really a bargain. This 14" pie was loaded with spicy Italian sausages, bacon, pepperoni, salami, ham and Canadian bacon. If you are a meat lover, this is definitely for you.

Here is our free medium cheese pizza. It's about 12" in diameter and we paid $1.65 for our favorite Papa Johns topping - spicy Italian sausage. Looking good for a $1.65 pie :P Overall, it was a great deal. Two pizzas for a little over $15 (including tax, delivery charge and tip). Not too bad, not too bad at all. Oohhh I just loveee Papa Johns, don't you? :D

Boston Market Chicken Meal for $1!!

I found a really good deal online today! Oh, before I forget..this is not a paid post. It's just something good that I want to share with all our readers. For those of you who are following my tweeter, you would have seen my tweet about getting a piece of free grilled chicken from KFC on Monday. That's right, in conjunction with KFC declaring Oct 26 as UNFry Day, they gave out one piece of their new grilled chicken free, all day on Monday.

Sounds like a good deal, right? Well, check this out. Boston Market came up with an even better deal. They said " Hey, you don't need to declare a special day as unfry day, everyday should be a healthy unfried day"! So, to get the message across that everyday is an unfried day at Boston Market, they are giving away a Chicken Meal for only $1, this whole week! All you need to do is head over to their website to print out the coupon, show up at any Boston Market with that coupon and you can get a Chicken Meal for $1!! Of course one person is only allowed one coupon.

So, Kevin and I printed out our coupons and headed to the nearest Boston Market earlier today. We were expecting a lot of people..come on, you don't get such a great deal everyday! Not only that, it's Boston Market! I just love the food at Boston Market, it's really homestyle cooking at it's best :D Hmm, no line coming out from the door? That's a good sign! I read somewhere that a lady in the city had to wait in line for about 45 minutes, just to get her meal!

Wow, check this out! No line at all. We just walked up to the counter, showed them our coupon and got our food! I guess living in the suburbs has it's perks :D True enough, it was only $1 for the Chicken Meal (well, $1.07 with tax). The meal consist of choice between 3 pieces of dark meat or 1/4 white meat BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes and a cornbread. Not too shabby for a buck! I believe the value of the 3 piece dark meat meal is $6.29 and $7.29 for the 1/4 white meat meal.

Here is our $2.14 dinner! As usual, the chicken tasted great! I just love the taste of the mash potatoes, it has the 'real' mashed potatoes taste, unlike the powdery 'fake' tasting KFC mashed potatoes. The cornbread was yummy too. Man, how I wish we could get this for $1 everyday! :P Anyways, the promotion runs til Nov 1, 2009...so hurry up and go get your $1 chicken meal before the promotion ends!

Psssstt...I heard from the grapevine that El Pollo Loco is planning to come up with a promotion that trumps both the KFC and Boston Market promo. O00hh, I can't wait. I'm loving this current grilled chicken war among all the chicken places, it gets better by the day :P iLike! I'll keep my eyes and ears open and update all of you if I get any news about the El Pollo Loco or any other promotion. Meanwhile, enjoy your Boston Market meal! :D

*Click here for the coupon link. Some people have commented that the Boston Market website is really slow due to high traffic. If you are having problems getting on the Boston Market website, just email me and I'll send you the .jpg format of the coupon.

Free Chocolate Dipped Fruit Boxes!!

Before I begin, I have to say that this is not a paid post. It's just something really cool that we would like to share with our readers :D I found out from a forum last Thursday that Edible Arrangements was giving away $1.5 million dollars worth of chocolate dipped fruit boxes (100,000 boxes) on their Facebook page. All we needed to do was to fill up a form and they will email us the coupon for the free fruit box. I have heard of Edible Arrangements and I've always wanted to try their products, but it's a bit on the expensive side. So, this is a good chance for me to see if it's any good or worth the money.

I received this coupon in my mailbox the very next day! Looks like I had the option to either print it out and take it to the nearest Edible Arrangements store to pick it up or I could redeem it online and get them to deliver the fruit boxes to my apartment (we just have to pay the shipping charges). We decided to print it out and head over to the Edible Arrangements in Nutley, NJ (about 10 minutes away from us) yesterday.

We found the shop without any problems and since there is a huge municipal parking lot behind the shop, there wasn't any parking problems too. It's located on Franklin Ave, the main town center of Nutley.

The store front was clean, neat and they had quite a lot of their products on display. It's pretty cool to actually see them in real life, since I have only visited their website and not thier store front. Now I know the actual size of the arrangements and stuff. The staff was also super friendly. When we gave them our coupons, they were really nice and told to wait for a bit while they prepare our fruit boxes at the back. You know how some stores would treat you differently if you walk in with a free coupon and are not a 'paying customer'? Well, not here! They were super nice and very professional :D

After waiting for about 5 minutes or so, the lady came out with an Edible Arrangements bag and told us that she has included 2 coupons for $4 off, for our next visit! How nice =) I was also pretty impressed with the packaging. I was expecting them to just hand us two boxes and that's it. There was a little card and a full glossy brochure, tied with a golden string, attached to the paper bag. Very nice. Wanna see what's inside?

Here is it! The 6 piece Chocolate Dipped Fruit Box (worth $15). I just love the packaging, with the bright red high quality box and a brown ribbon around it. So, what does the fruits look like?

Isn't it nice?? The coupon didn't specify what type of fruits we will be getting but it says on the website that it's up to the shop to decide - it could be strawberries, apples, oranges, bananas, pineapples or pears. We had some strawberries, apples and bananas. Is it worth $2.50 a piece? Well, all I can say is that it tasted really really good. You can taste that the chocolate is high quality chocolate and the fruits were really fresh. $2.50 for a piece of fruit is a little bit steep, but if you were to give it as a gift, I think that it's worth it. The whole presentation is really nice and it helps that the chocolate taste great too! Overall, we were really impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the packaging as well as taste of the product. Thank you Edible Arrangements for our two free boxes of Chocolate Dipped Fruits. We really enjoyed it!

* To get the coupon for your free box of 6 piece Chocolate Dipped Fruit Boxes, head over to http://facebook.com/dofruit . I believe the promotion runs til middle of November or til they hit 100,000 boxes (whichever comes first).

Papa John's Mega XL3 Pizza!

We were in the mood for some pizza last week, so we decided to check out Papa Johns new promotion - the Mega XL3 Pizza! For only $11.99, you will get 10 big slices of pizza ( supposed to be 33% larger than their regular large) with your choice of 3 toppings! From the ads on TV, radio and Facebook, we expected it to be awesome and hugeeee.

Within 25 minutes or so, our piping hot pie arrived! Guess what? It was huge!! The box was way bigger than the regular pizza box...way wayyy bigger. Also, look at the nice Transformers box it came in. You will also get a coupon for $3 off the purchase of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” on DVD and Blu-ray with every purchase of the Mega XL3 Pizza (while stocks last).

Check out our pizza! Look at how small the garlic sauce tub and pepperoncini looks beside that big pie :P We had spicy sausage, bacon and mushrooms on half of the pie and spicy sausage, bacon and ground beef on the other half. What I love about Papa Johns pizza is that we never ever have to order extra cheese, every pie comes loaded cheese...yummy!

Here is Kevin holding up the pizza, showing you how large it is. I think it's 16" across (if I am not mistaken).

This sure is a hugggeee slice of pizza! Look at how big the slice is compared to my palm. I can't even hold on to it properly. It's so loaded with cheese and meat that it just droops down, cos it's so heavy! I have always said it and I will say it again...Papa Johns pizza rocks! Now, with their special offer of $11.99 for such a huge pizza with 3 toppings, I must say that it's currently the best pizza deal around! Mmmm mmmm mmmmm, maybe I'll order pizza again for dinner tomorrow! :P
