the pioneering stacy peralta
was an advocate of the style #36 from its very inception in 1977. he
was particularly fond of the white on red (heat). check the screenshot
from skatebaord kings doco circa '78 & the associated 'footage' below.
here is a recent image of a pair of stacy's back in '77 from something called instagram. pardon the blurred image but experts tell me this is someting 'applied' to the image for effect?
below & in our previous post we dropped some identical red heat. well the only differences on the 70's model include the white vinyl inner collar, a straight cut toe piece on the rubber foxing & we assume the early inner vinyl heel pad complete with vans logo.
our 90's version makes up for this lack with solid suede throughout the vamp area of what normally is a suede/canvas model. accompanying this is a padded tongue to accomodate the fat lace era of the early 90's.
