Home Sweet Home: TGI Friday

Yes it has been a while, in fact it has been an age but here is an exciting installment of TGI Friday but from an interiors perspective. This is where I pick out all the blogs that rocked my world this week.

Ok I cheated a bit as this post was written in April but I love it and just had to share it. For those of you who always have a problem with storage (like I do) this blog post lists some great ways of storing your wares.

Brunch at Saks
Annemarie shows us her inspirations over choosing colours for her home and shares with us lots of yummy pictures from Apartment Therapy.

Lobster and Swan
I love a good cup of tea and Jeska from Lobster and Swan shows off some gorgeous tea that she sighted at Les Carnets de MissClara.

A Bloomsbury Life
Lisa gives us the lowdown of the preview for the Acme gallery. I love the way the magazines are artfully displayed on the floor under the chair.

Design Sponge
Grace salivates over designer, Caitlin Mociun's cool and fabulous open loft home.

TGI Friday

Spring is finally here (well sort of) with a slight glimmer of the sun but it is still very chilly. I will be so happy when we put that nasty winter behind us. Once again here are the blogs that rocked my world this week.

Mademoiselle Robot
The legendary Todd Selby has launched his book in a pop up store at Collette in Paris. Mademoiselle Robot took a wander down there to check it out and the result was very positive.

Bangs and a Bun
This post made me a laugh out loud. The ever so spirited Lady Bangs provides us with an hilarious account why she no longer loves shopping.

Marian Kihogo
The ever so glam, Marian fills us in on how she started out as a stylist.

Kiss my Black Ads
Did you know that Jay Z has a documentary coming out which is sponsored by Absolut? No neither did I but the guys down at Kiss my Black Ads did and gives us the lowdown.

Fashion Editor at Large
We are in the middle of Paris Fashion Week which is always guaranteed to draw a glamorous crowd. However at every Fashion Week there is a team of people who hold things together and this post features Sara Blonstein who oversees the production of the fashion shows at London Fashion Week.

Fashioning February: TGI Friday

This is the last week of Fashioning February and I have an amazing amount of fun. London Fashion Week (LFW) came and went and yet again there were a fabulous amount of posts. Like two weeks ago it was a very hard decision to narrow it done to five links but I got there in the end. So with no further ado, here are the posts that have rocked my world this week.

Oh Elle
You know you have arrived when Topshop comes knocking on your door. Disney Roller Girl, Coco's Tea Party and Oh Elle were invited down to Topshop's flagship store to host a blogging workshop. The lovely Elle gives us a recap of the day.

Coco's Tea Party
Following the blogging workshop, Coco has kindly put together a list of blogging tips for newbie bloggers.

Kate Loves Me
This week was all about London Fashion Week and Pelayo gives us a pictorial lowdown on his time at LFW. I just love the We HEART KateLovesMe cards that he has all the fashionistas holding up.

Marian Kihogo
It wasn't just the clothes that got everyone hot under the collar, bloggers also breathing hard over their behaviour at shows and in the press room. Read this insightful and very honest commentary from Marian on her thoughts about the behaviour of bloggers at LFW.

Disco Nap
Sitting on the side of the fence was this spunky blogger who decided to speak up and give her side of the story. It certainly made interesting reading.

Fashioning February: TGI Friday


Whoopee!! London Fashion Week kicks off today and aside from losing my Blackberry, (why do I feel like I have lost my BF?) I am really pumped up for it. This week has produced yet another round of amazing blog posts so here we are with the ones that have rocked my world.

Fashion Editor at Large
Fashion bloggers are taking over the world, correction they have already taken over what with the massively successful Evolving Influence Blog Conference on Monday and now they are featured in US Vogue. Respect!

Wendy Brandes Jewelery
The enigmatic Wendey Brandes gives us the lowdown on the Evolving Influence Fashion Blog Conference which she took part in.

Your Private Shopper
The stylish Kristina was featured as one of the most stylish women on cyberspace by the mighty Forbes magazine. She was so chuffed that she decided to write a post about it and listing the other women on the list.

Disney Roller Girl
DRG looks at the evolution of fashion shows and the whole ethos behind them.

Marian Kihogo
All week the lovely Marian has been featuring the players of London Fashion Week and finding out how they are preparing for the five days full of fashion, parties and champagne. In this post she interviews Joy Vieli, a model and DJ who expects to be very busy during the event.

Fashioning February: TGI Friday

Wow what a week it has been. New York Fashion Week had barely kicked off when the tragic news of Alexander McQueen's death exploded on the twittersphere and the news. All I can say is what a great loss and that my heart goes out to Lee McQueen and his family.

Today is the end of the second week of Fashioning February and I have been overwhelmed by the wonderful feedback and support that I have received. Selecting the links for TGI Friday was really difficult; there were so many fantastic posts published this week that really rocked my world and editing them down to the final five was not as easy task. So once again here are the blog posts which truly and utterly rocked my world this week.

The Satorialist
As you can expect there were lots of posts about the late Alexander McQueen but this post by The Satorialist stood out to me.

As the impending event of London Fashion Week draws closer, DSR shares with us her favourite fashion tweeters.

The Satorialist and Face Hunter are not the only street style watchers around. Fashion Editor at Large tells us about her admiration for Tommy Ton from the much admired blog, Jak & Jill.

Most aspiring fashionistas start out as interns and a lot of them are not treated as well as they should be. This fabulous delivers some much needed advice on what to expect from an internship and what to do when you are not.

After a mini hiatus TGI Friday is back and this week to tie in with our Fashioning February special we have links that are style and fashion related. So once again here are the links that have rocked my world this week.

So things have finally got back to normal this week and it looks like we have left the snow behind us. Please find a list of blogs which have rocked my world this week.

The Coveted
2009 was certainly the year of the blogger and 2010 looks like it will be even better if this fabulous video shown above is taken into consideration. The film was made in conjunction with Berlin Fashion Week and covers the impact that bloggers have made to the fashion industry. The footage includes the who's who of fashion blogsphere as well as the Grand Dame of fashion, Suzy Menkes.

Fantasy Ride
There is no doubt that we live in a youth orientated world which is reflected in the entertainment industry. Michelle looks at youth shows such as Skins, 90210 and Gossip Girl and discusses why it pays to be young.

Lushes Brown Thoughts
I wrote about Buppies a few months back which (a web series that covers a group of US Black urban professionals) stars former star of The Fresh Prince, Tatyana Ali. Check out this fab video with Tatyana and her sister Anastasia who both collaborate on the show.

This year seems to be racing by faster than speed lightning but thank god that the snow is thawing and we can all get on with our lives. Once again here are a list of blog posts which have rocked my world this week.

Who doesn't love gay Paris? The fashion, the food, the wine and the wonderful architecture? Well the lovely Adrienne presents the French campaign by fashion brand, Forever 21.

Divalocity
It is a pretty dead cert that Precious is going to clean up at all the awards shows including the Golden Globes which takes place this weekend. This post looks at the star appeal of Gabourey Sidibe, the new star of Precious who has taken Hollywood by storm.

This week has been full of revelations of infidelity and betrayal with a few high profile relationships suffering huge problems. This blog post looks at exactly what makes a happy and successful marriage.

I know it's been a while since TGI Friday graced its presence but I'm afraid life got in the way. The last week has resulted in a bit of a blog fest with a lot of people writing posts about blogging culture and the relationship we have with PRs. It has all made for some provocative reading. The International Make Up Artists Trade Show (IMATS) took place in Toronto last weekend and every beauty blogger in town made their way down to the event. Lipstick Rules reviews the event and discuses how beauty bloggers are perceived by PRs.
