Excited to be...

A new Scrap Matrix Design Team Member. Rae Cooper is the owner of Scrap Matrix...a delicious Australian website that carries delicious products...Twiddleybitz, German lace, Collections by Julie van Oosteen and much, much more. Her newest endeavor is OUT THERE CHIPPY, lasercut chipboard designs that ROCK! I'm pleased as punch to be asked to be on Rae's first Design Team and hope you will follow along to see what she has to offer and what she has up her sleeve.

Here is a layout I created using the Inchies Vintage Frame, hand painted with Tattered Angels Chalk Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. I just love the way this LO came out...there is such a sense of peace to it.

Feb. Tattered Angel Projects

So far my assignments for Tattered Angels Design Team have included wood, glass, canvas and now this month our assignment was to work with Tattered Angels paint products & metal. Yes...it works like a dream...another reason this is fast becoming a standard in multi-medium art work. Let me show what I created and you tell me what you think...

1st up is a canvas project called CREATE ART...check out the collage of metal pieces all covered with Tattered Angels Tar High Heel Chalkboard Glimmer MIst,Hayride & Mermaid Glimmer Glam

2nd up is called Butterfly Buddha...a candle lantern hanging around on the porch just screaming to be glamorized. Again Tattered Angels paint products to the rescue including several new Chalkboard Glimmer Mists and Glimmer Glam. The butterflies are all from Prima with a color wash of the same colors used on the lantern.

Last but not least is a metal Sun wind chime...all prettied up with several coast of Tattered Angels new & improved Chalkboard Glimmer Mist & Glimmer Glam.

I love what the brand new Tattered Angels website is doing. Check out the new HOW-TO section. There is a great video on the brand new formulated Chalkboard Colors plus MUCH MORE. Also the new Color Effects Guides give you great jumping off points if you're not quite sure. 

And of course I hope you're viewing daily the Design Team projects that are going up...today's projects by the uber talented Erika Taylor...you don't want to miss these. Of course I would be remiss if I didn't remind you that mine will be going up on Feb. 22nd and I am super excited about what I created...they make me smile!

Musings, pondering & a book review...

Holy Mackarel I can't believe that I haven't blogged in 11 days...what was I doing???  I like everyone else was paying attention to all the Winter CHA 2011 reveals...I was overloaded with a case of TOO MUCH EYE CANDY. 


I participated in the Scrapbook Royalty Live @CHA and was introduced to artists, companies and products I wasn't familiar with. There were Make & Takes provided by several companies...Scotch Adhesives, Prima, Faber Castell just to name a few that came with Swag Bags received when you purchased a 3 day pass. Several artist's stopped by and did quick demos. I was so impressed by Dyan Reaveley, check out her DYLUSIONS stamps...so quirky & fun.


I actually had to take a break and let it all sink in...so many THINGS I knew I HAD to have...now that I've had a chance to reflect I can put it all in perspective and actually separate out the WANTS from the REALLY WANTS!!! I was on CHA overload and I didn't attend...go figure! I'm now making a list according to priorities.


I've been working on my Tattered Angels DT projects for Feb. The assignment was METAL...well let me tell you...another match made in heaven. I can't wait to show you but it will have to wait until Feb. 22nd. You must mosey on over to the Tattered Angels Blog and check out what the fab DT Angels have created so far this month.

Last but not least I have immersed myself in this book I discovered...The Creative Entrepreneur by Lisa Sonora Beam. If you haven't read it yet I highly recommend it for all the artists that want to "MAKE BUSINESS IDEAS REAL". Since I have been following along with Julie Fei-Fan Belzer and ART JOURNAL EVERYDAY I'm finding so many sites dedicated to this art form...very interesting and yes I have been doing it...not everyday but 2-3 every week. Maybe I will share some of my pages at a later time.
