A New HEART for Mason

Our little heart friend, Mason, got his new heart yesterday on EASTER!!! The family had arrived just a couple days before to visit Summer and Mason in California for spring break so the timing was perfect!! He is doing well and we couldn't be happier! Callie prayed tonight and said she was grateful baby Mason got a heart and hoped that it would 'work good'. So keep it going MIRACLE MASON, we hope your heart 'works good'!!

If I am ever lucky enough to have children(I'll be 42 tomorrow... so chances are slimming down), and if anything ever happened to them, I would donate now because of your blog and the awareness you have made. I know it has to be a difficult decision but now that I see so many children in need of transplants, it wouldn't be as difficult.

I could not help but remember little Gracie and how the rejoicing turned to such sadness and how God had bigger plans for her.

About Us

We had our fourth child March 20, 2008. She had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Gracie had her first surgery, the Norwood, at 4 days old. She was scheduled for her second surgery, the Glenn, on 2-12-09 but it was determined that her heart was too sick and the surgery would be too risky. Gracie needed a heart transplant to live. A heart became available after being listed for only THREE DAYS. She had a heart transplant on 2-22-09, we thought it was a miracle and she was finally getting some GOOD news for a change!! Unfortunately, the heart didn't work and she came out of surgery on life support (ECMO). After exhausting all possibilities to save Gracie's life, she passed away on March 2, 2009. We love our Gracie Girl and look forward to seeing her again. Families Are Forever!
