We love the sun!

Boston and I had a fun weekend in the sun! On Saturday we babysat for my friend Tara's daughter Tavyn. Boston enjoyed having a play buddy around all day! My friend Sheri and her two kids came over for awhile on Saturday afternoon so we all played outside and the kids ran through the sprinkler! This morning Boston and I went to church. It was our Sunday to work in the Nursery so Boston enjoyed playing for an hour with all the kids. I volunteered to help out with Bible School at the end of June so Boston will have fun with that! They only take kids 4 years old through the 4th grade, but because I offered to help they allow Boston to come even though he'll only be 3. I think he'll have a good time. I'm sure it's mainly just playing and doing crafty things for the younger kids so he'll like that! This afternoon we played outside in Boston's new DINOSAUR pool! The neighbor boys came over and I soaked up some sun while the kids played. My mom, Stephan and Brennan stopped by for an hour. We hadn't seen them in a month or so so we were glad they came by for a visit. They dropped off a bike for Boston! It's the bike Brennan rode a few years ago. It's too big for Boston yet but by next summer he should be able to reach the pedals! He had fun sitting on it and "pretending" though! To top the day off we went to the movie UP in the theaters tonight. It was cute! We were exhausted from a long day in the sun but we stayed awake for the whole movie! Now it's off to sleep, and up and at em for another long week at work

Memorial Weekend

Boston and I stuck around home for Memorial Weekend. Saturday we did some things around the house and played outside for a bit. Boston's friend Savaeh had a 3rd birthday party at a hotel on Saturday afternoon so we went to that. They had cancelled the party earlier in the week because Savaeh had come down with Influenza A, but by the end of the week she was feeling much better so they decided to have the party anyway! It was fun. Boston enjoyed swimming with the kids.

On Sunday morning we went to church, and then napped:) After nap Boston was helping me put dirty clothes in the laundry basket (located in my closet) and ended up finding the scooter I had gotten him for his birthday! He was so excited so outside we went to give it a try! He loves it! About 5:00 we headed over to the neighbors yard. They had invited us over for a grill out and yard games. Boston had a lot of fun playing with the boys. The weather ended up being nice so it was a fun night to be outside. About 11:00 we sent the boys inside to watch a movie hoping they would all fall asleep but it was after midnight and Boston was the only one left awake so we decided to call it a night and came home! He was pooped (and so was i)! He was up around 9:00 today but took a morning and afternoon nap with me. We had a really lazy day but it was much needed.

Boston on his scooter! He loves the helmet and knee & elbow pads!

Trying to get them all settled in for bed!

And last but not least.. Monday afternoon. Boston got a hair cut! He had been complaining of it being hot and in his eyes so i finally decided it was probably time for a short summer hair cut. I took him outside to the picnic table and tried out the clippers i had bought in December! This was my first "haircut" experience. The first chunk of hair that fell to the ground made me tear up! His curls were so cute. He is excited and had to run over to the neighbors house to show off his new short hair! The boys just stared at Boston..i think it took them a minute to figure out who it was! Boston just looks so different. So here are the before and after pictures. I still think he's the most handsome little boy ever:)

Minutes before the hair cut!

The pile of curls:(

Ta-Da! Isn't he adorable! He looks completely different! He kept asking to look in the mirror and then he'd just grin at himself!

Finally, a Sunny Day!

We finally had a few sunny days this week so we took advantage of the nice weather and spent most nights outside until dark! Boston has a fun time playing with the neighbor kids so as soon as we pull in the driveway he heads to the backyard to "look for his friends". The neighbors have 3 boys under the age of 6 so the 4 of them together make for all kinds of trouble! It's nice though that Boston has friends so close to home. They spend a lot of time in our backyard enjoying the swingset! The neighbor kids have their own swingset but think that Boston's is much cooler:) However, we don't have the firepit like the neighbors so we do a lot of walking back and forth between yards. They usually invite us over for smores before it's bed time!

Boston helping me do some Sunday cleaning! He loves to spray the Windex!

3 Year Pictures!

Last Saturday my friend Tracy took Boston's 3 year pictures for me. She is in an incredible photographer so i'm so thankful she was willing to do this for me! We went downtown for some of the shots, and also went to an old bridge in town near 57th and Western. Boston was a bit sleepy for the first few pictures because i had to wake him up from a 20 minute nap! Towards the end of the shoot though he was all smiles! I still can't believe he is going to be 3 in a month! Time to start finalizing the plans for the birthday party!

A day in Hardwick,MN

Last Saturday Boston and I went to Hardwick, MN to spend the afternoon with my grandparents Bud & Marty Johnson. Boston is blessed with 3 Great-Grandma's and 2 Great Grandpas! As a kid, i loved spending time in Hardwick every summer. My grandparents have a big yard and lots of toys! It was so fun to see Boston enjoying the same things i had as a kid, and seeing my grandparents making memories with us. Boston got to ride on a John Deer tractor mower, and a 4 Wheeler! These are things we don't get to do in the "big city" of Sioux Falls so we had a great time! Hardwick is a real small town, so peaceful and quiet compared to what we are used to! We will definetely be planning some more trips there this summer!

Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to our blog! As many of you know i've had a website for Boston since he was born.. We are going to follow the latest trend and have this "blog" rather than his totsite account so be sure to save this link to your favorites:) It's Mothers Day weekend and Boston and I have some fun things planned! This afternoon we are heading outside for his 3 year pictures! I have a friend who is an incredible photographer and she has offered to take his pictures! I'm so excited and i know she will get some great shots! It helps that Boston is so photogenic:) Boston will be 3 next month and I can't begin to explain how fast these past 3 years have gone. I never imagined life as a mother to be this incredible! Boston is a blessing each and every day!
