Ramsey's 2nd Birthday

I'm 2!

He loves to share

....again Ramsey sharing, he truly is the sweetest boy.

For Ramsey's 2 nd birthday we went to John's Incredible Pizza. It was so easy and stress free, and the kids had so much fun! The boys loved playing all of the games, and Ramsey especially loved all the buttons that he was so freely able to press.

Isla's Blessing Day

Isla's blessing day was simple and perfect. For the boy's day I felt like I had to do a family gathering after church, a sort-of luncheon if you will. But this time around I just wanted to relax and enjoy the day, and attend all of the church meetings.

For Isla's dress my mom dug out my (and my sister's) blessing dress that my Grandma Peterson bought years ago. Unfortunately the dress had yellowed over time. So I was on a hunt to find a dress that would fit my tiny baby. I searched everywhere possible, and there was nothing out there that was going to work. My MIL offered to make a dress, and I took her up on that offer. We washed and bleached my old dress and the lace details that were on it brightened and whitened like new. My MIL worked her magic and basically recreated my old dress with some new fabric, and it was absolutely perfect, and something I will treasure forever.

This is Halloween

We had a super hero theme this year! Matt and I didn't fully dress up but we still rocked our super(wo)man and spiderman shirts.

And my all time favorite, all homemade costume, WONDER WOMAN!

Her story

At my 36 week appointment (9 months) I was dilated to a 2+ and the nurse practioner said I would go SOOO early, and I wouldn't even make it to October (it was sept 19th). Well, I tried to ignore her, because really, theres no way of truly predicting when a baby will come. But it's really hard to not get excited about a baby coming (and let's be honest, excited to not be pregnant anymore) so I waited a few days, then I got everything ready for our little ladies arrival. I set up the bassinet, washed some baby clothes, and rearranged our bedroom to accommodate all of the babes things. So, it was now just a waiting game.

October arrived and I was still pregnant. I went to my 38 week appointment and the Dr checked me, I was now at a true 3. Then my due date came and went, which hadn't happened with my boys (Hudson was 11 days early, and Ramsey was 3 days early). I had another appointment and was now dilated to a 4! But she was still quite snug and not ready to make her be appearance.

With the boys births I remember waking up at a certain time (early in the morning) with a GIANT contraction and that was my marker for when labor started. But Isla was different. I remember feeling like labor was starting while I was sitting in church, feeling faint, but uncomfortable contractions. But then by sunday night the contractions had subsided. Monday I took the boys to their gymnastics classes, and I moved and ran (an maybe jumped on the trampoline a little bit) trying to stay active to get labor moving. I still had the faint contractions that were beyond uncomfortable, but not consistent enough to go to the hospital. Then tuesday (I taught preschool... blah) and was getting even more anxious to see my little girl. The contractions were coming stronger, longer, and I was able to track them. I was beyond uncomfortable and slightly annoyed because this was my third baby, and everything that was happening was very unknown to me. Then wednesday morning come, Matt went off to school to study (he had a test that day) and I started to time my very consistent, very painful contractions. I like to wait until the last minute to go to the hospital, that way I can do most of my laboring at home, distracted, and in my own space. With Matt being at school, contractions being one minute long and 3 minutes apart, and me being home alone laboring with the boys with me, I decided to call Matt and have him take me into the hospital. But when we arrived everything stopped. I had one minor contraction every half an hour. They checked me and I was at a 6+, almost a 7.  The staff admitted me, and I requested to have a nurse midwife and they just happened to have the best nurse midwife working that day, Susan Stone, the same gal that delivered Hudson! Nothing was happening, and Susan gave me some tips to get things going (I'll spare you the details) and still after over an hour there wasn't a lot of change. Susan then suggested that she would break my water, about 20 minutes after that I REALLY started to feel every contraction, hard and beyond painful. I felt this way for about two hours. Then after a good 40 minutes of pushing my girl made her debut into the world! FINALLY!

Isla Carrie Antrobus was born October 19th, 2011 at 3:40 p.m. weighing in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 19 inches long.

The 4 of us

Before each baby I like to have family pictures done, it's a way to capture our family before it changes immensely.
(And a great opportunity to get it a nice and big belly shot.)

Strange employee

I was at babies r us the other day just to pick up one thing. Well, if you have kids you know that just running into a store "real quick" isn't really an option anymore. So after trying to locate my one item, I had already been around the entire store and Hudson was constantly asking me to buy things, one of the items was this $10 beanie baby sized big bird. (lame)

Hud was so cute and said he wanted to get it for the baby, and I almost caved. But I had already told him that we weren't buying anything extra (these kids have way too many toys!)

When we got to the register he still had Big Bird in his hands, I told him that he needed to give it the the girl at the register because we didn't pay for it. He was about to have a tantrum and I was trying to reason with him, and I remembered that Matt used this trick on him before and it worked: He asked him if he had any money to pay for ______ and Hud would check his pockets and if there was no money he would move on without another word. Well, not this time, he said "no" but was still persistent.

So the girl at the register says, "It's okay, just take it." To which I replied "ABSOLUTELY NOT! Thank you, but no." She was a little taken back and tried to move on from the subject because she knew she was in the wrong.

30 seconds later Hud put Big Bird up on the counter and we left, a few tears were shed, but we didn't steal the toy like the girl wanted us to and he learned a couple of lessons: 1) that you don't always get what you want. 2) moms not a push-over. Am I crazy, or is that that strangest thing for an employee to do?

Bubbles in the yard

What child doesn't love bubbles? Our boys really love them! Ramsey sees the bubble container and asks practically everyday, "bub-bools" How can you say no to that?!

easter morning

Josh and Eileen's baptism weekend

We headed out to Utah for Josh and Eileen's baptism's. While we were there we decided to have an Antrobus grandchild picture taken since all 20 of them would be there. Let's just say the Matt Antrobus children were not into the photo session that day (See above photos)
