I must have had a blast during my trip to Vegas with the girls because it has taken me this long to recover. I can't seem to get enough sleep. Blah! but since when does a mother ever? (Please don't answer this question because I really don't want to know unless it is oh, once you turn 28. )
Melanie, as a joke or not-I'm still not sure- did send me an email with all the left over photos that she didn't use in her blog. There was a reason she didn't use them and I don't know why she thought that things might be different between them and me....it was a nice thought.
I don't know why I didn't bring my camera. Maybe it was subconsciously figured that I usually forget to pull out the camera and use it in the first place so I had best claim defeat right out and not bring the darn thing that might take up room in my purse that I can use for snacks, sunglasses and chap stick. You know, important things like that.
There were two life-changing discoveries that I made on this trip.
1. If you have a good book to read it sure makes the plane ride a whole lot faster. That or maybe not having to sit next to men acting as if they have already won something even before they have arrived. mmm, maybe that is just men in general...
2. Not only is it hard to leave fun and return to dirty laundry and diapers and then a few days later the kiddos having the flu, but it makes it even harder when you leave sunshine and come to mushy ground and gray dark skies. Blah again!
Chin up, cuz if I'm good (and I am the one who gets to decide) I can go again!

Guilt about going to Vegas...all gone!
I'll be leaving for Las Vegas on Wednesday. I swing through two different emotions. SO excited and feeling guilty that I am leaving my family behind.
Today after lunch I found that Banana had glued random papers to my wall and furniture with a glue stick and the man child had drawn on the kitchen floor. This has helped me feel, oh lets say, NOT guilty at all about leaving my cute little busy bodies at home.
Here are some (old and some new) pictures to help remind me why I am going to Vegas. Man child's recent obsession with my tampons. He just can't get enough of them. Maybe there is a Doctor of gyn-ob in his future?

I am soo ready for Vegas Baby!!!!
Update: While writing this post Banana cut off her long hair. I'm trying not to cry. It's just hair it will grow.

Maybe WI isn't so bad.
I start complaining a lot about where I live around this time of year. I hate to admit, but I really am a jealous Domestic Goddess. While others are beginning to enjoy spring, here I am in the cold still waiting...and waiting...and waiting...
Don't cry for me yet, because in two weeks I will be taking a trip to Vegas. Bring on the sunshine!!
I also begin to feel sorry for myself in the bleak weather because my families (I say families because there are several!) * live so far away. Now that Jared and Amy have moved to Montana the closest family is 12 hours away in PA and Christmas break will never be long enough.
But these last couple of Sundays on my way to or from church, I have been able to see a bald eagle; their white heads standing out against the grays of the wintering trees. Those are pretty big birds by the way. Bigger than the turkey that almost hit the car in front of us. What it was doing trying to fly I have no idea. Silly turkey, trying to be a bird of prey!
"Awesome!" I say as we drive past. I settle back into the firm car seat and smile. "Maybe Wisconsin isn't so bad."

In the Bathroom
Last week I spent four hours in the bathroom with the door locked and the fan on. I was painting a picture, jeez! Did you think I was going to write about...you know... what you were thinking... Let me explain my reasons for being in the bathroom before you start thinking of things you shouldn't be again. No I wasn't painting a hot and steamy picture! See there you go again.
I was painting in the bathroom, because it has a lock on it and I can keep the kids out of the room when I leave. It also has a fan and the stuff I was painting with smells bad. No! I was painting with oils! My goodness, come on and work with me. Therefore, (I like using this word. I think I used it in every single paper I wrote in school) I needed a room with ventilation and I'm not about to open my windows when the weather is so cold.
I painted a picture of nice round, shapely and naked grapes. A lot more boring then you started to think huh?
