Kathy's Lily Pad Palette Color Challenge

Gnome place like home
Hello Friends, Has it been a good week for you? Ready for the weekend? How about about a jump start to your  next card or scrapbook page? It's that time of the month again.... the "Kathy's Lily Pad Palette Color Challenge" at the Lily Pad blog. Lawn Fawn is the sponsor (yes that means prizes) this month and you will love what the other DT members created with Lawn Fawn's stamps.
Gnome place like home
This stamp set is called "Gnome sweet gnome" and it's super adorable. You may be asking yourself why my house is so much larger than it appears here.  I enlarged the mushroom house with a projector & you could enlarge the image with your printer & get them same results.

If you peep behind the door you can see the wall paper I created by using some bright inks and the flower & the squiggle in the stamp set. My order of Scrap Dots came in just in time for this card. When I need some serious dimension I use this. I would use it on everything if I could but, that's not cost effective. The bushes on the card were rejected dots from the top of the mushroom. I didn't like the way I colored them with the stripes but, happy to have found a a purpose for them. I fell in love with these bright Copic markers. ( this, this & this ) If you are like me and feel the need to add a little pattern to your gnome's clothes you will need this super fine marker.

To create a subtle pattern on the mushroom top I used this and this ink with the squiggle & the grass stamps for the pattern. After cutting it out I distressed it with some brown distress ink as I did for each dot, parts of the mushroom and the bushes.

I wanted to pop the dots so I traced them twice from my projected image and numbered them so I didn't have to figure out where each dot should be placed. Next time I will number them on the back of the dots. I added a little trim to the windows so they would be easier to cut out. More grass stamping on the mushrooms base.

I thought I would share this tip for cutting with a blade on smaller images. Cut out the fragile parts first before you cut the images off of the paper because there is less give to the paper and it's just easier too.
Here are a few links of other enlarged projects. Here, here & here if you are interested and if you have any questions please send me an email. Don't forget to hope over to the Lily Pad blog. Thanks so much for your visit!!!  Hugs, Kathy
P.S. Did you see this giveaway??

Lily Pad Palette Color Challenge

Hello Friends, Can you believe that I am back so soon?? Today Lily Pad is posting a new color challenge on the Lily Pad blog. I hope you find it fun to work with and keep in mind you don't have to stick to the colors they are to be used as a guideline.

I have always love this rubbah from Purple Onion Designs here and I was so happy when I discovered that they were sponsoring Lily Pad's color challenge. My March Color Kit from Simons Says Stamp was still on my stamp desk thankfully because it was the best starting point for me. (all of the papers are from the sold out kit...hint you might want to register)

After drying embossing the background I added some distress ink and Glossy Accents to each dot. Perfect for a rainy day with the sun trying to pop out. I also added Scattered Twig to everything on the card and some Tumbled Glass.
Let me know if you have any questions. Off to Syracuse for a college visit. Hugs, Kathy
Thanks for visiting me :) makes me so happy.

Lily Pad Palette Color Challenge

Hello Friends, It's me again  as promised :) with a new color palette challenge from Lily Pad.
Hang in there
I just think this little critter is the cutest...he's a digi image from "Clear Dollar Stamps" and when you click over to Lily Pad they will have the link for you and inspiration from the other DT members.

I just had to break out my favorite Penny Black background stamps for this card and my Martha Stewart glitter. For the sun I used the inverted circle die from Spellbinders and the circles too. (I am always reaching for the circles)

I printed the sentiment on some card stock and used this die to create a decorative tag.

Lots of distressing and I used the glitter for some highlights and some pizazz.

I used Copic markers to color him and a white colored pencil to add highlights.  I had to show you his teeth...this is what happens when you don't brush and floss...lol.... I colored them yellow!! Lots of Glossy Accents on his nose and teeth too. I will be back in a few hours for a blog hop for a wonderful cause....this one so please stop back and see you soon. Hugs, Kathy
Yes there will be great prizes too :)
