christmas fairy altered -- new blog update

Hello Friends, How are you today?  I hope you have a spring in your step with the warmer temps or cooler ones depending on where you live. Today I have a card to share and an a update on The Daily Marker blog makeover. First lets start with the card.
This adorable girl from Penny Black is a holiday stamp that can easily be altered into a sweet fairy card or a pretty girl by cutting off the wings and wand after stamping.
If you are new to Copic markers I suggest using a blending set because the colors coordinate so beautifully the work is done for you.... they all work together in harmony!  If you have a few of the colors in a blending set make note of other colors from the sets to add to your collection.
The background was super fun & super easy to create using one of the stencils from Simon Says. I like to use a dauber to add the ink to the cardstock. After using the stencil with sea glass ink just rotate your paper and repeat with a different ink like mint.

I think you will enjoy rotating your stencils to create a new & interesting patterns. I added some faux stitching lines to this background to mimic a plaid pattern. The cardstock that matches mint and sea glass finish your card off easily.

hungry hippo

Hello Friends, How are you today? Are you experiencing some extreme temps in your part of the world? On the east coast we have frigid temps with 5" of fresh snow! No thank you!

Are you in the mood for a happy card? Paper Smooch stamps are always so delightful with beautiful & easy images to color. It's an understatement to say I fell in love with this hungry hippo from Paper Smooches called, "Zoo Crew".  Enamel accents were added to the hippos nostrils. I used a white gel pen to draw a line down the middle of the palm leaves. The ink that I used to stamp the ivy on the background is called Sea Glass but, I like to call it luscious.

You still have time to win a spot in Online Card Classes here. I hope you are having a good week and I will see you on Friday. Hugs, Kathy

honey bunny day one

Hello Friends, Welcome back! All this week I will continue playing along with Mama Elephant stamps I'm super excited and as you can see their stamps are F.U.N. and oh so adorable!!

Before we started I want to let you know that in the next few weeks you will see a total blog makeover here at The Daily Marker. This is been in the works for over a month and I am so excited for you to see in NEW blog!! For those of you who subscribe and are getting a cluster of posts at once in your inbox .... that will change with the new blog :)

Combing my favorite things----- adorable stamp + die cuts + stencils = special card for that someone special. The most adorable bunny is from this stamp set called, "Honey Bunny". The heart was a leftover from the card in this post and the perfect background stencil is a Kelly Purkey product pared with some distress ink.  NOTE: I cut the tail on the "s" and looped it at the bottom of the heart.
You get lots of depth when you color a die cut. It's super easy if you leave it in the paper. The "Big Thanks" die cut from SSS has so many possibilities and uses PLUS it becomes dramatic when it's center stage on your card.
Keep in mind that you don't need to spend time blending. If you want you can blot some blending solution with a rag on your coloring and the solution will work it's magic for you. Adding glossy accents can cover any imperfections that you think you might have.
When you color over the entire area with a light color starting where the darker color meets the lighter color first you will find it blends easier. Please email me if you have any questions :)

See you tomorrow with another card to celebrate Mama Elephants newest release. Check out the other cards on the Mama Elephant blog here. Thanks for popping in. Hugs, Kathy
