Oh the joy of finals. Here I am, it's almost 11 pm and I'm waiting for James to call and tell me he's ready to come home. This morning when I knew I could have the car today I was excited that I'd be able to get out of the house and do something, I didn't know exactly what I was going to do, but I'd been in the house for two days and was looking forward to breathing fresh air and taking Blake out for awhile.
So, I dropped James off at school and tried to figure out what I wanted to do. Finally I decided to go and see my friend Heather at work during her lunch hour, it was nice to see her and have some adult conversion for awhile. Then I thought I'd get some Christmas shopping done so Blake and I went to Burlington and got a gift for James. After shopping Blake needed a nap so I came home and I've been here ever since. I thought James would be done with things at least by 8 or 9 , but here it is now 11:09 and I'm still waiting. It's a good thing I love him so much since picking him up means I have to wake Blake up and put him in the car. So, oh the joy of finals I just remind myself it's just till August and then he'll be done. Yea!!!!
PS I do love James very much and I'm very proud of him and all he does for us.

Blake's First Time Playing In The Snow
We still are waiting for are first snow fall here in Anchorage so, if we want to play in some snow we have to go to the mountains. Well last Tuesday I my visiting my sister Kary and we did just that. We all loaded up in the car and went up to Hatchers Pass. We were going to have a picnic outside but the tables were covered with snow, so we ate in the car then bundled up the kids and went and played. We had fun running around and throwing snowballs. Blake loved walking and playing with the snow too. I can't wait till it snows here in Anchorage, I hope it's soon.
Blake's first time playing in the snow, as you can see by the look on his face he loved it. |

Afternoon At The Park
It was such a beautiful fall day last Tuesday that I decided to take Blake for a walk to the park at Cheney Lake. We had a fun time going down the slide, and Blake loved climbing up the stairs. He's such a big boy now, walking every where he can and always bringing a smile to my face. I sure do love this little man.
Blake decided he was done and is walking back to his stroller. |
It was the 18th of October and all the geese were still at the lake. |

The Three Amigos
Last year me and two of my friends, Jenn and Kerri, all had baby boys around the same time. So we decided to get together and have a triple 1st birthday party. So last Sunday they all came over to my house and celebrated. We had dinner and played games. The games were races to see which babies would be the fasted finishers. We did a crawl race, a diaper changing race,( I tied in this one with my friend Kerri 18 seconds), and a toilet paper unrolling race. They were allot of fun, even though the babies had know idea what was going on. Then came the cake, Jenn had made each boy there own, so we set them on the kitchen floor and off they went. Blake ate his cake slowly and even tried to use a spoon, while the other two boys, Liam and Forrest dug right in. It was quite a show. I wish I had a video camera because I can't describe in words how funny it really was. Lets just said when all was said a done there was half a inch of cake on the floor and there bodies. Thankfully everyone helped clean up or I don't know what I would of done. So overall it was a wonderful birthday party with wonderful friends, and I found out that birthday cake is definitly more fun with three babies to watch.

Blake's First Birthday
Blake turn a year old on September 4 the sunday before Labor day. Well every labor day weekend my family goes camping in Denali. So that's what we were doing on Blake's birthday, we had a wonderful morning hiking by the river and relaxing at camp, then after lunch we got out the cupcakes and sang happy birthday to Blake. But since we were camping and had no way to clean him up we fed him his cupcake with a spoon. He still really enjoyed it.
Pictures will be coming soon of Denali and Blake's Birthday, because as I went to take some pictures the batteries died in my camera. It was very sad, so I didn't get any personal pictures, but Kary should be sending some soon.

Alaska State Fair 2011
Last Friday we went and enjoyed a evening at the fair. The weather was beautiful after a week of rain. James brother Jacob came with us, which was nice because James a I were able to go on some rides together. Blake went on his first Merry-go-round and loved it. We saw the huge veggies and the animals, they even had some kangaroos this year. The biggest disappointment of the day was the Turkey leg, I was looking forward to it all day long, but when we got it, it ended up being a pork leg. Talk about your false advertising, it didn't even taste that good. But over all it was a wonderful day, and a great memory .

Blake's New Room
A couple months ago we moved to a new apartment. Our old one only had one bedroom and now we have two. This means that Blake now has his own room. I was looking forward to decorating it, since I didn't get a chance when he was born. So, I found some Appliques and cubbies from Target as well as a few more things from my childhood and this is how it turned out.
Blake really enjoys his new room, he especially loves to pull all his toys out. |
I think it turned out pretty cute, Blake and I love hanging out and playing in here now. |
