Never Grow Up by Jill

Hey friends!  Have you seen the GORGEOUS Flutterby file in The Cut Shoppe Etsy store?  I think every single one of us on the design team have lost our minds for these beautiful butterflies!

I started by sizing the background file to approximately 8.4 x 8.1 inches, then I cut it two times from white cardstock.  I planned to use one of the cuts as a whole, then place the other cut file in two places on my mixed media background.

I backed the butterflies with a few patterned papers from the same collection, then adhered the full background cut with foam tape so I could slip my photo in behind the butterflies.

The second cut was backed with the same papers, then I cut the file into two pieces so I could place it in two spots on my layout.

I stitched the butterflies down with my sewing machine to show some variation and add texture.  My last step was adding in tons of die cuts and a few flair badges.

I adore these butterflies!  You can count on seeing this cut file as a regular in my scrapbook pages.  Thanks for stopping by The Cut Shoppe blog today!

Hello Life

Hi everyone, Julie back with you again today, hope you all had a great scrappy day yesterday, for NSD, & managed to get a few layouts done.
This month I’m sharing a layout done with an older cut file called ‘Say Anything
It has 3 sayings on it but I only used one

I don’t know if you can tell from the photo but I did this layout on acetate as I think it gives a different look to the page. I started off by backing the life part of the cut file with patterned paper & gluing it to the page. I then backed my 3 photos with more paper & added these coming down the page & to each photo I added some ephemera. I did a small cluster at the bottom of the layout to ground it & a couple of flair badges, some rub ons & a few enamel dots finish off the page.

Thank you for joining me today & I’ll see you again towards the end of the month xoxo

The Night Before Christmas

The layout I’m sharing today is using the lovely free cut file Night Before Christmas, that’s out today.

I choose to cut it really large on white cardstock & then misted & splattered it in a variety of different colours before attaching it to black cardstock to make it stand out, to help it a little I drew all around the edge of it with a white pen.

I then made a photo mat using a variety of different papers & added it to the page over a wood slice, I added a few bits of ephemera around the photo cluster, a doily, flair badges, puffy stickers & a lovely red glitter bow. I finished the page with a few splashes of silver color shine & some silver texture paste through a stencil.

Thanks for looking today & I wish you all a great Christmas & a happy new year, xoxo
