Merry Christmas Star | Amanda Baldwin

Hi Friends!

Amanda here, & boy oh boy am I getting excited for Christmas! It's the most wonderful time of the year! I just love spreading the Christmas cheer!
For today's layout I wanted to create something fun 'n' magical, & The Christmas Star cut file was the perfect choice!

Here's my layout, "Merry"

Isn't this magical?!!
I have been inspired by visions of sugarplums and used all the pink, glitter & sparkles!
That giant sequin shaker star is just stunning! And I just adore the super glittery Merry title!
There's no denying that the Christmas Star digital cut file is all kinds of awesome!
It looks like this....

Wow! What an amazing file with SO many possibilities!
You can get this fabulous cut file from The Cut Shoppe HERE.

For today's layout, I simply enlarged the Merry star to 8 inches wide and cut it out in white Bazzill cardstock. I created a 'pocket' by backing the star with a layer of pattern paper & vellum. Before I sealed off the pocket, I filled it with sparkly sequins. To add extra sparkle and interest, I glued more sequins over the top of the vellum, and then dressed the title in pink glitter paste. I just loved how this turned out! So festive & fun!
Here's a closer look for you....

To enhance the magical feel of this layout, I created a whimsical, cotton candy style background with Shimmerz Paints Vibez: Jeni Be Bleu, Vibez: Sweet Heart, Coloringz: Oh Say Can U Sea? & Spritz: Cotton Candy. This mixed media base really makes the Merry star stand out. For added 'pop' factor, I mount the Merry star on thickened foam tape. So effective!

On closer view, you'll also spot that I embellish the Merry star with a few stickers, and some cotton floss threads! Very pretty details!

Just look at that glitter title! So.much.sparkle!!!
The Christmas Star cut file is just a stunning addition to any Festive project!

Aren't they adorable?! Such a Merry Christmas moment!

With only 3 days til Santa comes, I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a safe and very Merry Christmas!
And a Happy New Year!

Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Peace Love Joy | Marsha Farris

Hey TCS friends!  Marsha here again today sharing a new holiday layout in my traveler's notebook.  I used the fun Peace & Joy cut file from The Cut Shoppe Etsy store.

I sized the cut file to fit in my traveler's notebook and cut it out using white cardstock.  I love how it pops against the red patterned paper!  I also cut out the snowflake pattern several times using vellum and layered it over the cut file, adding the snowflake cut out of white cardstock on top.

For the other page, I stitched the vellum snowflakes at the top and bottom of the page.

I layered some patterned papers and crepe paper behind my photo, used a notebook punch to punch the edge of the paper, and chose to do a flip up using washi tape.  Next, I added the journaling to a tag behind the photo.  I added a few embellishments and called the layout done.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will check out the holiday cut files at The Cut Shoppe, perfect for all of your seasonal creating!

Frosty Flakes: by AImee

Hey there, Aimee here sharing a layout using the new “FrostyFlakes” cut file.

I just love how its a bunch of snowflakes that make up 1 BIG snowflake. When I went to cut it I knew it was gonna be one of those files that takes awhile, and if it doesn’t come out you get super disappointed and discouraged to cut it again. So I made sure I slowed down my Silhouette Cameo and did a double cut! Let me tell you it cut beautifully!

I decided to use the Merry & Bright Collection from Pretty Little Studio. How about those vellum snowflake stickers that I stuck underneath the die cut. I love how they pop out from behind the die cut and add color.

This photo is from last year. We always go and visit the giant snowman that the city of Sierra Madre builds. The community goes up into the mountains, gather snow, and build a snowman a few days before Christmas.

Kevin and I started this tradition a few years ago, around the 23rd of December we go to see the snowman in the town square, get some Starbucks, and then look at Christmas lights. You can tell from this photo it wasnt very cold last year since Kevin is in shorts and we both have flip flops on.

I cant wait to go this year and get our annual photo!

What traditions do you have?
