title: is he/she the One?


alrites for those of you who were at Edge.. this msg was amazingly funny but yet powerful at the same time and i really gotta admit that i've never looked at dating/destiny/creation story that way before man! but yeah.. pastor jeremy made some really really thot provoking points.. and here's wad i've gathered from the service.. feel free to add on u guys!


one impt pt i felt he made was that we gotta know our DESTINY first before we can actually choose who the 'one' is gonna be. and a bit oxymoronic here ya? cuz if that person's the 'one' then how can u choose rite? well apparently there's always choice.. in that you never jus get one person coming ur way and ta-daaah.. that's the person u're supposed to marry.. and we see this in gen 2:18 where God actually presented adam with a variety of animals in searching for a helpmate for adam.. but of cuz.. none could compare to WO(oah)MAN -erhems!-


so sometimes the question really shouldn't be who the PERSON is.. but rather.. its a question to God about what your DESTINY is..


and that jus hit me.. like.. it was so true! and yet... that truth has been staring at me in the face since i started reading genesis man.. woaaaaaah...


here are some questions that jeremy put up that i feel maybe we need to ask ourselves.. not jus now.. but perhaps all the time till we're all happily married and have millions of kids.. okay well maybe not millions.. but.. heh! u get the point..


1) Do you know your destiny? -- super impt.. shldn't be at the bottom. i tink this question deserves highest priority. if you don't know ur destiny.. den u dunno you.. and if u dunno you.. den how can u give 'you' to another person??


2) Are they (meaning ur significant other) a helper? -- does the person spur u on to grow in God and run for God like there's no tmr? very very impt.. cuz God made Man for Himself.. not for the other half of u.. who's supposed to help you accomplish ur destiny. and again.. if your destiny's not top priority.. den ur options are a lil different lah..


3) Are they comparable? -- is it more appropriate for Man and animals to have a r/s or human-human.. hopefully.. u guys all think its better if its between humans.. i can't imagine the former.. UGH! so yesh.. sometimes we settle for less and think like.. 'maybe this'll work out in the end' but truth is.. most of the time it doesn't.. and we sometimes lie to ourselves so much we get convinced.. and by then.. we jus hurt ourselves whamming the wrong shapes into the wrong shaped holes..


4) Is God waking you? -- the Bible says do not awake love till its time for it to be awaken.. well.. it said something to that effect.. and its found in song of songs.. no prizes for guessing where that verse is.. cuz its EVERYWHERE! meaning that its darn impt la! (: and yesh.. if its not God's timing for you to be with ur special someone no matter where he/she may be.. den choose to stay 'asleep' cuz sometimes its jus harder to fall back asleep once u've been waken.. even tho its possible. i for one am experiencing this..and i know that it isn't God's timing yet. so yesh.. i respect His plan for my life cuz refer to point 1.. its God's destiny and purpose FIRST. heh! (:


5) Is God bringing you together? -- sometimes we see our other halves as being bigger than God.. and by then.. we're missing the point. cuz God IS bigger. is He BIG enough in your life? heh! thot provoking question to ask ourselves eh?

Staying Connected

Two of the greatest inventions of my time have been the laptop computer and e-mail. The laptop means I no longer have to stay in one place to be productive in my business life. E-mail has allowed me to stay connected to people all around the world with the touch of a button.My greatest frustration is when either of these does not work. Sometimes e-mail cannot be used because I can't get a connection. Sometimes I cannot use my laptop because I have not properly charged it, and then the charge runs out while I am on an airplane. Both of these situations mean I am unable to tap into the resource that allows me to fulfill my calling in my work to the fullest.


The morning time with God is much like these situations. God pours His Word into my spirit, and I am recharged. This recharging has an important effect on my day. It allows me the greatest opportunity to hear the small voice that directs my steps. If I refuse to "get connected," I risk following my own ways of fulfilling the duties of my day. It sets forth the opportunity for God to speak into my spirit what He desires for me each day. It allows me to focus on God's purposes, not mine.


The only way to know someone is to spend time with him or her. The only way to discern the voice of another is to hear that person's voice. David, the author of this psalm, was a warrior, king, and businessman. He understood this principle of connecting with God in the morning. His morning allowed him to connect with God's love, renew his trust in Him, and hear His directions for his life. Shouldn't you and I do the same?


--- now this is why we have net in the mornings! heh heh heh.. :P have a great week people!

180 is happening... this SAT... 530 PM!! and here are some instructions for you guys bringing friends ya? in fact.. EVERYBODY should be bringing friends so here goes nothing! :D

- register ur friends (yep.. bring em to the counter)
- get em the Guest Registration Form -- consisting of 3 layers/sheets
- first sheet is for lucky draw
- second is for the registration counter
- third is for food and salvation (hahaha interesting link rite?)
- when redeeming food, show the third sheet (yellow in colour) to the cafe peepz and let em stamp on it (hopefully with a rubber stamp..) *remember to collect back ur paper. no paper no food.
- if ur friends raise their hand during salvation call (they will they will!! pray and believe!) can go up with em to the altar where all the netleaders will be 'mobilized' to help em out.
- if super much pp.. dun care whether friend or not.. jus GO UP! cuz we need workers for the overwhelming harvest!! ;)

jus thot dis may come in handy.

many of a time we tend to get upset ovr stuff n situations which really put us in a spot. sometimes we may even be in the position to hv evry right to get ngri or even WALLOP someone up. but aft the matter has blown ovr, u'd realise it aint tht big a deal to make a fuss about. it may even set u tinking, if u were to turn bck time, will u hv react the very same way.

i guess. when we learn to lean bck n take things easy, a circumstance cant be tht bad aft all(:

birthday thank yous!

guys! thank you all so much for being the wonderful individuals u all are.. i love the stool! i'm actually thinking of bringing it to hostel so i can sit on it and do my 'deep thinking' heh! and its so cute.. even my mum likes it.. haha looks like it shall have to be a tussle between the two of us! wahahaha..


to je: i heard fr the rest that you coordinated this.. thank you so much girl.. u're awesome.. and i cannot express so blessed i am by u.. by ur support, ur acts of love (i remember the time u offered to buy breakfast for me.. ) n ur timely words of encouragement..


to syl: u are jus one powerful lady! thank you for being so open with me even tho i know sometimes its hard.. but honestly.. i appreciate it and i treasure that frenship that we have.. it ain't all jus leader-member ya? u're a fren.. a sister! =) jia u for ur o's k? dun give up!!


to sam: girl.. u are jus so so sweet! i read wad u wrote on the card and i'm like.. wow... i never knew that.. and it really blesses my heart knowing that i made a diff.. u are a woman of God truly.. and u've got such a sweet heart.. pp arn u are blessed cuz u're U! go go go! for ur A's! to eel: haaa.. u're one powerhse for God ain't ya? u've never failed to challenge me to be as close to God as you are.. and it's like u're jus so willing to be moulded by Him.. u've really been a source of encouragement for me.. not jus as a leader but as a Christian.. keep on walking strong girl! and thank u for being so understanding abt stuff.. u're awesome!


to thiam: phwaaah.. bro! u're growing so well lo! i was jus mentioning this to the girls taht day.. that u're really really really doing so well! i cannot tell u the countless of time my heart's been blessed by wad u've shared during net and heh! thank you for doing the elephant walk jus for me!! wahahaha u didn't look too bad =)
