Umm umm good!

This weekend Chad and I had a little date night at home. Since I was craving something sweet we decided to make cinnamon rolls. Normally Chad and I avoid cooking in the kitchen together. It works better for us if we are both working on different things. If we do work on the same dish together it usually results in one or both of us getting frustrated. However, I'm pleased to report that this time was a complete success! We had so much fun making these tasty cinnamon rolls together. Thanks Chadley for such a fun date night!

Chad is an expert dough maker. If you haven't had his rolls, you need to because they are amazing! He looks so handsome in this picture!

This is me at 25 weeks people and I look like I'm as big as a house. Chad kept snapping shots of me from the worst angles possible and this was the only decent shot of me.
So GOOD! I love a good cinnamon roll!
Chad finishing up the job by frosting the rolls.
The rest of this post is completely off the subject from the cinnamon rolls, but I'll share it anyway. In the past couple of weeks I've gotten some interesting comments from people about my baby belly. I've decided some people are clueless as to what is actually coming out of their mouths. One lady at work told me I was "getting pudgy."-Yep that didn't go over well with me. I felt like saying back to her, "Um, that was rude," but I kept my mouth shut and smiled instead. Then yesterday another lady at work told me that I was huge.-Ok I know my belly is growing bigger everyday and I might feel like I'm as big as house, but still to call a pregnant woman huge to her face is a knock. Ironically enough both of these comments have come from people that are on the larger side themselves. So what's the deal? Has this happened to any of you? I thought it was a known fact just not to say anything like that to a pregnant lady, but apparently some people really are clueless.

Surprises and becoming a 2L

One of the presents I got Chad for his birthday back in June was a tennis racket. It has yet to be used since I didn't have a tennis racket of my own...that is until this weekend. Chad came home on Saturday with this sweet surprise for me. I was so excited to have my very own tennis racket for the first time in my life. Plus he got me the Hope tennis racket that supports breast cancer which made it even more special. I'm sure playing tennis will look awkward with my pregnant belly, but then again I look awkward running now too and that hasn't stopped me yet. I can't wait to get out and put this racket to use!Today was the first day of school for Chad as a 2L (2nd year law student). I should've gotten up this morning with him this morning (which was before 5am) to help him get ready, but me and my pregnant body were dead to the world at that time so he was on his own today. This semester is going to be even more crazy and stressful for Chad since he is packing on 4 law classes and an MBA class on top of working. I just may never see him this semester, but I know it'll be worth it in the long run. He is such a hard worker and so dedicated to his school work. He's pretty much amazing! So here's to you, Chad, starting your second year of law school. One down, only two more to go! Wahoo!

An uninvited visitor

For those of you that know me you know that I am NOT a fan of insects. To be honest they just creep me out. I prefer them to be outside where they belong and far away from me. If one is found too close to me I get that creepy, crawly feeling all over me and it pretty much freaks me out. It seems like I have had more than my fair share of run ins with little insects lately. Last week while I was in Utah I stayed at my parents house. I slept in my old room in the basement. One night as I was getting ready to head to bed I looked down at a what I thought was a spot on the carpet and saw it move. Turns out it was a spider! So I hurried and grabbed a tissue and killed it and flushed it down the toilet. Feeling satisfied that I had gotten rid of the intruder I walked back into the hallway and made the mistake of looking again down at the carpet for another spider that might be waiting there to freak me out. Once again another spot on the carpet turned out to be another spider! Gross! I disposed of the nasty thing and sent him to be with his buddy that I had just flushed away. One more time I headed down the hallway and I saw another spider. I couldn't believe it! I'd never seen that many in that basement ever before. I hurried and got rid of the spider and sprinted to my bed and crawled in without even looking at the floor in fear that I would spot a spider again. The next night I killed two more! I think next time I go visit and stay there I am sleeping upstairs in the toy room hoping that it'll be spider free up there.

So the past couple of days when Chad and I have gotten home from work we've heard cricket noises. The first day it sounded like it was on our porch. It was so loud and just seemed to stay there all night. The next day we heard it again. I told Chad that this cricket must live on our porch or something. Later last night it sounded like the cricket was just outside our bedroom window. He'd moved. Sure was loud. As I was getting ready for bed in our bathroom it sounded like he was right outside the bathroom door instead of being outside our bedroom. I blew it off thinking that the noise was just seeming to get louder to me because I was getting more annoyed by it. But when I opened the bathroom door I was sure I heard a cricket noise coming right from the corner of our bedroom right by the bathroom door. I yelled for Chad to come check it out. I moved to the other side of the bedroom and told Chad I thought the cricket was in our bedroom and pointed out the corner. Chad was brave and investigated the corner and out hopped the cricket! YUCK! Scared Chad too! He jumped and so did I even though I was on the other side of the bedroom. I wasn't getting anywhere near that thing. Luckily Chad saved the day and got rid of the univited house guest. I've NEVER had a cricket in my house before in my life, but Chad acted like it was a normal thing. Must be a midwest thing I guess. Whatever the reason it still grosses me out and hopefully it won't happen again.

August

August has been a very busy month for us so far and we're only half way through! Chad's been busy with finals, young men's camp outs, and work. I've been busy with work, weddings, and baby showers. This is a bit of a picture overload for this post since I'm cramming all of August into one and the pictures are all out of order so you'll have to bear with me.

I went to Utah this past week for a few days for my cousin Holly's wedding. While I was there I got to spend some time with some of my family. Chad had to stay back at home for this trip and although it was fun to be there, it was really hard not having him there with me. Sure missed ya Chadley!

Check out the fabulous food and decor! All of these breads were so yum!

I had to include this picture of Holly and me even though it is a terrible shot of me. I look about 8 miles wide! Yuck!

I warned you that these pictures are way out of order...yep we are to the beginning now with our anniversary. Chad surprised me that night with all these roses. What a little sweetie!
My cute hubby next to his romantic surprise
He had 12 roses laid out along the counter, one for every month that we have been married and attached to each rose was a sweet little note. The end of the line was topped off with a card and a dozen more gorgeous roses in the vase. He did pretty good I'd say! Happy anniversary Chadley!

It's a.......

Yesterday I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound. We found out that we are having........
A BOY!!!! We are so thrilled! The baby is healthy and doing great. I think Chad has been praying pretty hard that it would be a little boy. He loves to call him the nickname that his friend Matt came up with "Big Bobby B!" Chad's just full of silly names these days. He enjoys coming up with random names for our little guy and I know he can't wait to have a little boy. I feel so blessed to be pregnant with this baby boy and can't wait for him to join our family.
