This years Christmas party was . . . well, perfect in my book! Being with my family makes me happier than anything in this world and when you top it off with lots of yummy food, a little Christmas bingo, sledding, sugar cookie decorating, a nativity scene and of course Santa Clause and presents. . . really life doesn’t get much better. I don’t think we could of packed one more activity into one day, Ginka and Papa sure know how to entertain there nine grandkids. . . feed them lots of candy, give them whatever they want and plain old spoil them!
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas . . . and I can’t wait!

Bringhurst Family Christmas Party!
Posted by The Finch Family at 10:00 PM 1 comments
Family Pictures again. . Oh, boy!
The whole gang! We started out as 5 of us and now there's a whoppen 17 of us!
Check out Coles purple lips, they were purple for hours after pictures, that's how cold it was!!
Now that's alot of really cute kids!!
Although we wanted snow to sled, we didn’t expect Mother Nature to bring winter wonderland again for this year’s party and pictures. This year’s storm was a little more relentless which made family pictures kind of a drag and bitterly cold.
You think we would have smartened up after lasts year’s family pictures and done this year's pictures in July. Doing family pictures in the middle of December with 9 little kids is not so ideal, but that doesn’t stop the Bringhurst’s.
However, before this gets to depressing, despite the harsh conditions the photographer (Greg Anderson . . . a little plug for you Greg) was able to make it and we were able to find a spot with some shelter from the snow and wind.
Willie wiping the snot from Coley's face. This pretty much sums up family pictures doesn't it?
Next year I think we'll shoot for pictues in July, better yet maybe we won't do family pictures next year!

Mr. Man
1. Jumping off his chair at Smith’s Marketplace, Cole says “ I’m Super-Fred”. Too cute… meaning Fred from Scooby doo.
2. Cole’s in the shower and I’m washing his hair and he say’s “Mom, guess what? When you close your eyes, you can’t see!! Cool, huh?”
3. We were just about to put in a Christmas movie for the kids to watch, and I had been saying for a while, we can’t watch Christmas movies until it’s Christmas time. So. . . the next thing I know Cole walks out the front door, and he’s looking up at the roof, and he’s looking pretty hard. Then he comes running inside saying, yep Mom, we can watch a Christmas movie, cause we have Christmas lights on our house!!
4. We were walking through the music Dept. at Wal-Mart, and I said to Willie “Look it’s Carrie Underwood’s new CD, I wonder if it’s any good, or something like that”. Next thing we hear Cole saying “Carrie Underwear?... Mom” (long drawn out Maaaaaaaam as if she was crazy).
5. At night Coley just got out of the tub, and Coley and Daddy were getting him dressed for night-night…. Coley said, out of the blue: “Dad, I have a we-we and two bellies” flabbergasted and somewhat confused (because Coley slurres his speech) I said what? He then replied “ I have a we-we and two bummies” Ok… so I said Coley, are you saying bummies as in your bummy? He said “no dad, berries” thinking he did not know what he was saying, I said… “cool Coley, where are your berries?” he then looked at me for a second, then made his best guess, and then opened his mouth wide as he could and pointed in his mouth… laughing and now curious, I say “good Coley, and do you know where your we-we is?” then he looked down and got that question right… so I said again.. “Good, you are my smart boy”
6. Right before bed… Daddy was trying to give Coley some good thoughts for him to dream of, so daddy said… Coley, you can dream that you are a Kung-Fu master and you protect people. He got all happy and smiled and said… “Yeah and I can throw a frog up in the air, catch butterflies with my net and kiss them” made me laugh, maybe he is a lover not a fighter.
7. Same night as above, Daddy was giving hugs and kisses night-night, and Coley looked at Daddy and said “Daddy, I love you” so I said, I love you to Coley, he then said “I love going to the ball games with you” (Note: we went to a BYU Basketball game a week prior) so I said “me too, we should go again sometime” he then said “yeah, and maybe Tarzan will be there”

Time for Bed!
If you think the hour long Finch Kid Bedtime routine of getting pajamas on, going potty, brushing teeth, taking vitamin and fluoride, medicine, reading books, saying prayers, drink of water, kisses, tucking and retucking in is enough. . .try getting all three of them out from under their bunk beds!

Worth the Wait!
It might have taken Ginka Extra Long to get Tyler her baby blanket . . . but it was well worth the wait. We know it was made with Extra love and lots of hard work. We are so lucky to have a special Ginka like you!
Ginka giving Ty-Ty her new blanket she made!
Special buddies for life!
Tyler took a liken-too her new blanket right away and has been sleeping with it ever since.

Re-Run Scooby Doo: Halloween
The gang was at it again. Kazzy dressed up in her costume for preschool and then the gang headed for the hospital to see Jamie, M.A. and mommies fellow co-workers on mother baby. The highlight of trick or treating at the hospital was getting money instead of candy when a little old couple stopped to check out the gang. The kids loved to tell everyone who they were and they never forgot Daddy. They'd say to everyone "Shaggy, he's at work!
We visited Ginka at work and then Nana and Papa Houtz, where she fed us her traditional Halloween dinner or lunch (Grandma slaved away to have it ready early so we could have some of her famous Chili) of...Homemade Chili,Bread,Jello,Pickles and Donuts off the Black cats tale. It sure was yummy. Grandma was worried it was going to give me gas at work and I'd have the farts all night. Grandma I assure you, my patients survived the night. Nana teased Cole about his green hair, she'd say "Cole I just love your green hair!" Cole's response was "It's not green hair, it's yellow!" Check out the pictures, you can decide, green or yellow? After lunch at Nana and Papa's we rushed to get on the road so Mommy wouldn't be late for work. Grandpa Bringhurst went out of his way to meet us at the gas station in Mapleton after we ran out of time to come see him. What an awesome Grandpa he his, we love him so much! Traffic was a disaster when I got into American Fork and Willie forgot his wig so we could take a family photo, so we bagged trunk or treat and the family picture and I made it to work 1 minute late. My first day as an official nurse and I clock in late, I am a joke! About 8:30 I was sitting down to do some charting, feeling kind of sad, wishing I was home with my family, so I decided to call home and see how Halloween night was going. Well, no answer, but to no prevail it wasn't 1 minute later my whole gang walked through the hospital doors. I just about cried I was so excited and it was all hugs and kisses from there. I loved showing off my kids to all my coworkers, cause there the cutest. In fact all night, people kept on commenting on how cute my kids and family was! I love my family so much and can't wait to spend eternity with all of them!!
Kazzy says "I love Halloween! We get lots of candy!! We went to see my Mamma at work, she was so excited to see us at her work.
P.S The pictures are a little scarce, because I left the battery to my camera charging at home. Nice work MOM!

Scooby-Doo Gang!
Posted by The Finch Family at 7:00 PM 3 comments
Kazzy and Coleman love Scooby-Doo . . . so it was fun to throw a birthday party for the both of them with this theme in mind.
A Scooby Doo party wouldn’t be complete without Shaggy and Scooby’s favorite food. . . PIZZA. Dapne, is that lipstick on your face, or pizza sauce? Either way, you're still beautiful!
Once the gang and all their scary guests were full, it was time to solve a mystery. After following the trail of bones that led to a ghost, the gang hunted for ghosts upstairs and down. Kazzy’s favorite part of the hunt was finding clues at the neighbor’s house . . . which then led to hunting for spiders and then FINALLY catching those bad guys (Grandpa Bringhurst and Grandpa Finch) who were trying to scare away all the kids so they could eat all the cake and ice cream. When they saw how cool the cake was they had to come up with a plan to scare off all those kids.
It would have worked to if it wasn’t for that medaling dog and the rest of his gang. Kazzy really wanted to be able to pull of the mask of the bad guys (like they do in the cartoon), but in the end both Kaz and Cole were too scared of the bad guys to even get close. Shaggy (Dad) was holding Scooby (Ty Ty) and she was scared to death… she had the kung-foo grip around Shaggy’s neck nearly choking him out.
The piñata was kind of a let down for some of the kids . . . the birthday kids got a chance to take a swing at the ugly green witch, and then a couple kids after that and then it was over for the poor little piñata with a short life. After a big blow from Kennedy the piñata was done. It was kind of a let down, but at least the candy was good.
Last year was the first of a new birthday tradition we started. . . One special chair where the birthday kid sits and one special chair for the giver. Instead of presents flying, it’s fun for the giver and more meaningful and memorable for the birthday boy/girl who receives the present. You actually know who gave you what, what a concept! Kazzy and Cole both got to sit on the Birthday chair together and remarkably, they didn’t even fight or push each other off. It’s so fun to get presents . . . Thanks everyone for all the thoughtful gifts. We love you!!
When they weren’t wearing them as hats on their heads, he kids all got to eat their ice cream and cake out of a dog bowl. After all the hard work that went into making the cake, it was difficult to dig in and eat it up. For weeks the kids and I have been searching for Scooby-Doo items for the big party. It was a fun way to end the party by letting all the kids pick a wrapped Scooby-Doo present from the mantel . . . real live Scooby snacks and fruit snacks, coloring books and band aids left a smile on everyone’s face. It was an unforgettable party . . . thanks to all who came and supported the birthday kids.
