This week I had the pleasure of making another wedding cake for a lovely couple who were getting married on Friday. Rachel and Mick chose a design and sent it to me, again I am unsure of the original source.
As the wedding was only a small family affair, they didn't require a large amount of cake so we decided on using styro foam cake dummies for most of the cake. The cake was 4 tiers high with the bottom tier being dark chocolate mudcake with dark chocolate ganache and the top 3 tiers were cake dummies.
The colour combination of white with a touch of black was very stylish, with the tiny black blossoms finishing the cake off nicely.
Congratulations to Rachel and Mick on your marriage.
Enjoy the week ahead.

Susan and Brenden's Wedding Cake.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of creating a wedding cake for a lovely couple, Susan and Brenden. I have created cakes for them in the past so it was nice to be able to be a part of their special day.
Susan sent me a photo of the design she liked, unfortunately I don't know the original source. The wedding colour palette was ivory.
The three tier cake was double height, covered in ivory fondant, with handmade roses and finished with sparkling swarovski crystals.
The bottom tier was dark chocolate mudcake, the middle tier was caramel mudcake and the top tier was white chocolate mudcake.
The reception venue was styled perfectly, simple but elegant.
Congratulations to Susan and Brenden!

Purple and White Wedding.
On Saturday I had the pleasure of creating a gorgeous cupcake tower for Nikki and Brent's wedding. The colour theme was purple, white and silver.
The cupcakes were deep, dark chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream swirls and tiny silver cachous, in purple cupcake cases.
The cupcakes were displayed on a clear tiered cupcake stand. The cutting cake was white chocolate and raspberry mudcake filled with white chocolate ganache and covered in white fondant. It was finished off with a silver monogram initial topper and purple satin ribbon.
The weather was perfect for Nikki and Brent's special day. Congratulations to you both and thankyou for allowing me to be a part of your day.

Cupcake Towers
The past weekend was all about cupcake towers - a wedding and a 21st birthday party. Lisa contacted me about 6 months ago about creating a cupcake tower for her wedding to Jerry. This would be the first time I have done a wedding cupcake tower with cutting cake, so I was very excited. The colour theme was ivory, black and silver.
The cupcakes were vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream swirls and tiny silver cachous. The cutting cake was white chocolate mudcake filled and covered with vanilla buttercream. The topper was provided by the bride.
On the tables the guests received vanilla sugar cookie favours in organza bags. The large heart shaped cookie was embossed with the happy couple's initials and the small heart shaped cookie was embossed with a floral pattern.
The wedding was held at the gorgeous Carrington Hotel in Katoomba.Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy, but the bride looked stunning, and from all reports it was a wonderful celebration.
The following day Jessie-Rose was celebrating her 21st birthday party and requested a cupcake tower too. The colour scheme was almost the same as the wedding - black, silver and white. Jessie-Rose also requested an open gift box cutting cake.
The cupcakes were vanilla sponge cake with buttercream swirls, tiny silver cachous and fondant "21"'s. The cutting cake was cherry ripe mudcake filled with dark chocolate ganache and fondant covering. The present bow and tissue paper were made from modelling paste.

I spoke to Jessie-Rose's mum yesterday, as she is my son's teacher, and she said that Jessie-Rose wouldn't let anyone cut the present box! Hopefully they have by now, as it would be a shame to miss out on such a delicious flavoured cake!
This weekend brings another two 21st birthday cakes, so be sure to come back to see what I create for Madelyn and Carina.
Enjoy your week.
Mrs KT :)
