Talking about motherhood. Sometimes when things get so advance, that we tend to take a little bit of everything for granted. As I am not a seasoned/experienced mum, I am still learning. At times, I can get so hooked up in surfing stuff, kononnya I want the best for the kid that I forgot that if sometimes traditional method is still the best.
Breastfeeding.Have you bought your pump? I had mine. Its a double pump. Brand XXX
What's dat? Mine is a manual pump.
Owh, manual doesnt work as efficient as this. You have never heard of it? Its famous, its from the internet.
Erk, not that I have heard of...
Its less the effort, less the time, double the outcome.
Yes, while it is good to have the best, my SIL herself express milk without any pump. Just with the correct massage, & she gets more milk than I do. I had to learn from her and it really works. Though I still use my manual pump, I do express without pump as well after pumping.
*just wondering if chinese is genetically with less milk? but then again, all is planned as it should be.
Milk Formula
One thing that I would applaud. That modern mum nowadays recognize the importance of breastmilk. Not to imply anything, but mostly chinese mum would feed the baby with formula in the 80s. My Aunties were all formula mums. But atleast now they recoginse that milk at its simplest form, breast milk is the best.
Diaper
I had searched high & low for the perfect diaper. Disposable, soft, non-rash, yet cheap. Yet, my mum managed to talk her way into me using cotton diaper. Its all of the above, except for it is non-disposable but more eco-friendly. Abit more work, but I am lucky to have my mum helping out on this. Yes, we still do use Pet Pet, or Mamy Poko; but at minimal usage. Cotton diaper really helps reducing rashes alot. Anyway, Aydeen prefers nya-turrr when he is not wearing anything.
Toys
We tried buying all the sophiscated toys. Even if it burns the pocket, we still go for it. As long as it mentions - enhances, stimulates, educational etc. Turns out kid nowadays prefer to play with simple household thing. Rug, powder, chair, combe etc etc. Hehe, sounds like a lazy mum here. Still I guess I need to be a lil bit more innovative to create some educational games here. My flashcards became his teething soother.
Yup, guess a lil bit of traditional method wouldnt hurt at all. Infact, the simpler it is, the better the result. Well, this is my just my lashes.
