A Fond Farewell...

Hi everyone. I want to start off by saying thanks to all the amazing group of ladies I had the pleasure of working with here at Globecraft & Piccolo. I will be moving on to new ventures and crafty fun, but rest assured the returning and new ladies coming up are FANTABULOUS. I can't wait to see all the new projects they will be sharing with all of us.

For my post today I created this Fancy Hanging Header from G&P. I thought the sentiment went well for the occasion today. Love Starts with a Smile, Grows with a Kiss and Ends with a Tear! These tears are tears of the joy for sure.

I outlined the back piece with this flower trim to give it a ruffled look as I layered the additional pieces.

This is a look at the piece .

 Header.

This piece here I actually added on to the end - it is the ending to the sentiment.

Here is the entire finished piece.

I hope everyone has enjoyed my projects here with Globecraft and always remember to Create, Share and Inspire!

Hugs,
Monica

Creating with leftovers

Hi everyone,  Monica here with a mixed-media project to share with you. I know how amazing the Globecraft jewelry pieces are and so today I want to show you what else you can do with them. Punch out the pieces from the bookboard and then what you are left with is an amazing stencil for mixed-media projects.
Materials:

Step 1: Using the bookboard backing as a stencil, drag modeling paste across the opening using a spatula.

This is what it will look like.

Step 2: Place the punched-out charm piece on top of the modeling paste image and apply heat with a heat tool.

The heat causes the modeling paste to bubble and give a nice texture.

Step 3: use color mist sprays, paints or inks to color.

Final piece.

Hope everyone enjoyed my project today. Be sure to keep all those extra and leftover pieces to use in some mixed-media fun!

Etching with embossing powder

Hi everyone, Monica here again to share another Globecraft & Piccolo project. Today I am sharing an angel wing bezel jewelry piece made with Victorian Bronze Embossing Powder and a rubber stamp.

Supplies:
  • G&P Victorian Bronze Embossing Powder
  • G&P Assorted Bezels
  • Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive
  • Baroque rubber stamp - Judikins
  • Heat tool

Apply Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive to the to the bezel.

Sprinkle on the Victorian Bronze Embossing Powder; heat set.

Repeat the layer by applying a second coat of Piccolo Embossing Powder Adhesive then sprinkle on a second coating of the Victorian Bronze Embossing Powder.

While the embossing powder is still warm and juicy press your rubber stamp in to it.

You can see the stamped design in the embossing powder on the bezel. The thicker the layers of powder the deeper it will etch.

Finished piece.

I added a charm piece to the end for some additional flair.

Crafting cards in a box

Hey everyone, Monica here. I want to share a different way to use the G&P Little Traditional Oval frame. Normally I use these for frames or home decor pieces but I decided to make a gate-fold box card with it from some recycled cardboard I picked up.
Monica Edwards
Supplies:
  • Globecraft & Piccolo Traditional Oval Frame
  • Spellbinders Dies
  • Bo Bunny Patterned Paper
  • CTMH Sentment Stamp
  • Prima Flowers

For the front of the gate-fold box card I added a vintage clip art image I found online. I used the Spellbinder Blossoms Die to hand-make the dimensional flowers. The card opens in a gate-fold manner.

I added some Prima flowers, feathers and a Spellbinders die to add a border.

After selecting your paper, spread Glastique on the frame piece or pieces you choose to use and place it face-down on your paper; trim excess with an craft knife.

I added some micro-mini beads to the inside of the bubble for added flair before sealing it to the background paper. You can see the beads gathered in the bottom of the bubble.

These bubble frames are so versatile and come in different shapes too; they can literally be used anywhere! Totally love how the whole project turned out. Hope you enjoyed my post. Hop on over to my blog to see more G&P inspiration.

Tips & Tricks: Making your mix

Hi everyone, welcome to another G&P Tips and Tricks.

Often when I purchase powders I have a good idea of the look and color I am going for, but sometimes depending on what it is I am embossing, I think it would be nice if it just had a hint of another color. So I tried mixing two G&P embossing powders together to see what the outcome would be.

I wanted to emboss the leave bezel but I wanted it to look aged, yet still look as if it had the fresh-green of a new leaf.

 Step 1: Pick two colors

Step 2: Mix together

Step 3: Pour onto the piece you are embossing

Another quick tip: I like to layer my embossing powder for a nice thickness but it can blow away. If you hold your blower under the piece and heat from the bottom, the powder will not blow everywhere and you'll get the thickness you like.

This is the finished piece and you can see the gorgeous gold.

And, now when you tilt the piece you can see the hue of green - absolutely love it!

Supplies:
  • Victorian Bronze Embossing Powder
  • Mossy Green Embossing Powder
  • Leave Bezel
  • Embossing Gun

Hugs,
Monica

Welcome the New Year

Hi everyone welcome the New Year 2013.  I am ready for this to be a super great year too. This is my first post for 2013 and I want to share a canvas piece I made for Globecraft and Piccolo.

This was a super fun piece to make and so much easier than it looks. I took a blank canvas piece and used the Little Traditional Bubble for the frame. I used Jacquard paints and also embossed the frames for the added texture.

I also used Medal Gold Enamel Powder to the scroll piece I adhered to the frame.

Supplies Used:
  • Medal Gold Embossing Powder
  • Little Traditional Bubble Frame
  • Liquitex - Gesso, Light Mold Paste
  • Jacquard Paints
  • Petaloo Flowers

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

Hi everyone! Monica here, and I wanted to share with you the ornament I made using the G&P DIY Portrait Ornament, 3D Enamel Gels and the Vintage Flourish Charm set.

Supply list:

  • G&P DIY Portrait Ornament
  • Metallic Gold 3D Enamel Gel
  • Vintage Flourish Charm set
  • Glastique Finishing Glaze
  • Graphic 45 papers
  • Shaved Ice (Stampendous)

Step 1: I used Metallic Gold 3D Enamel Gel to the accent piece to give it a nice shiny look.

Step 2: Added Stampendous Shave Ice.

Step 3: Pour the shaved ice inside the bubble to give a look of snow.

Step 4: Use G&P Glastique Finishing Glaze to seal the bubble frame and to adhere your decorative papers.

Step 5: I adhered my ornaments to my Christmas lights by using a glue gun. The crystal Christmas ornament inside really shines from the light and outlined the writing on the Graphic 45 paper with the gold embossing powder as well.

I Really tried to capture the look under the lights the first one is with no flash so you could really see the light.

This one is with the flash where you can really see the ornament and snow.

The finished ornament. Visit my blog for even more inspiration!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
