Especially For You

Good morning.
Happy Saturday to you!!  Any plans this weekend?
Me?  Nope...I am staying in and staying in my PJ's this weekend.
So while I stay comfy, let me share a card I made for this weeks challenge at SweetStamps:
TECHNIQUE SPOTLIGHT CHALLENGE:
Embossing Paste and Stencils
I made this card with my little sister in mind.  She just got a new job and I am so happy for her.  She is doing it all on her own, working double shifts, with no really schedule to her own everyday life.  So I was excited to receive news that she got a job at HP!!  Even though she is my little sister, I still had to make something a little grown up for her!!  :)
After I masked off the areas that I wanted to stencil. I took my Copic multi-liner and traced the entire stencil that would be exposed.  Then I went over it with the white embossing paste.  After it dried I dressed it up a little with some pearls and the pleated ribbon.

A very simple but, yet sophisticated for the youngest of siblings. :)
Have a great weekend and  thanks for stopping by today!!
See you soon.

Embossing Paste and Watercolor

Hello Sweeties!  Lisa here with you today and I'm sharing a card that plays along with the newest challenge: Embossing Paste and Stencils!  I LOVE playing with embossing paste and stencils, they have become one of my go tos for adding texture to my projects... so needless to say I was excited by the new challenge and had to play along!  Check it out:

Supplies Used:

To create this background I first went over my stencil with clear embossing paste and set it with my heat tool.  You could let it air dry, but I was much too impatient hehehe!  I then went over it with some peerless watercolors.  I love that you can give your background any color with this technique.

Can't wait to see what you create!
Happy Crafting!

Watercolors and stencils

Hi- Shelly waving hello to everyone!  I decided to get out the watercolors and give them a go with a stencil and embossing paste.

I used the Peerless watercolors and the Geo Triangles stencil. First, secure the stencil (use painters tape or Washi...). I used the Dark Green color (which is the main background color) and applied that all over the background thru the stencil.  I removed the stencil and added splashes of Wisteria Violet and Japonice Scarlet and Dk Gray using a wet paintbrush and flicks of the paintbrush.
I replaced the stencil and added white Embossing Paste here and there.
The Embossing Paste added a little texture to the background.  Once dry, I watercolored over the areas of dry embossing paste again using Dark Green. I added a little more color over that with a Copic marker. Be patient and let the embossing paste dry- if you want a bubbly look- you can use the heat gun- but if you do not want a bubbly look- be patient : )
The Billy Painting Happy Birthday image was stamped, colored with Copics and fussy cut- then added on Dimensionals to the card.

Blossoms and Paisley

Happy Wednesday from Roxie!

The blossoms and background image are from the Always on My Mind set.  I colored the blossoms with Chameleon Pens, dry embossed them and popped them up on foam tape then added acrylic centers.  The panel is also popped up on foam tape.

Chameleon Pens color: PR4 and I held the color nib to the blender solution for 4 to 5 counts on the larger blossoms and 3 on the smaller.  Also BK4 to color the blossom edges.

 Hello friends!
I'm loving the technique challenge this week, how about YOU?!
Use Stencils and Embossing Paste
You can get a very dramatic effect with such a small amount of paste added to any project.
I used Dylusions Calyspo Teal on top of the wet paste for this look.

With Love

Hi everyone-
Sorry for the late posting... I thought, that I had already pre-scheduled my card to go live..ooops!!
That just goes to show you what kind of week it's been!!
This week at SweetStamps challenge is: HEARTS
So my card today, I am really played with my stamps.  I am using the two biggest birds in the "Tweethearts" stamp set.  I extended the legs on the one bird, so that his rump wouldn't be sitting on the grass.  I created my subtle cloud background using Broken China distress ink.  Then I stamped "Grassy Hill" and colored using Copics (YG97, 17, G14, 43).  Using a post it note, I covered the top part of the bird, and stamped just the legs.  I cleaned off the stamp really good, reinked just the body of the bird.  Then using a ruler and Memento Tuxedo marker, I connected the body to the feet!!
I fussy cut the next bird out and positioned it so it looks like it's giving a kiss, or rather a peck!!
Really like the way it all came together and I hope that you do too.
Thanks for stopping by today!!  See you soon.
