Sketch #150 With A Day For Daisies

Hello  Sweet Sketch Wednesday friends!!!

It's Kathie here, from Auckland New Zealand, back again as your hostess this fortnight.  We're in the middle of Spring here in New Zealand and the weather can be very changeable, one minute it's warm the other it's cold or could be very humid and raining.

I'm sharing a view today from my kitchen window, it's an amazing view over our pond something I look forward to all year waiting for the flowering Cherry Trees and the Wisteria over our bridge to flower.  It won't be long before all the flowers have gone and there will be a mass of green leaves.  Unfortunately neither of them flower for long enough.

Firstly our winner from the last challenge sponsored by Cute As A Button

Sketch #98 with A Day For Daisies

Hello and welcome visitors old and new to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 for our latest challenge.
It Kathie here from New Zealand and a slight chill is still in the air but I must say we're enjoying these beautiful spring days which I can't get enough of, especially after a very damp wet winter.

I love this time of year working in my office at home and also creating cards, I hear one of New Zealand's native birds in our trees they are

Tui's

and they love Taiwanese Cherry or Prunus Campanulata flowers which flower in early spring.

I counted 21 birds in the tree the other day, the nectar from the flowers is like a drug to these birds they dance around from branch to branch chasing each other like young lovers, I've even seen one fall out of the tree once and flew straight back up to another branch.  Once the flowers have gone and leaves come, the Tui's disappear to other trees.  This nectar must by like a cheap happy drug to them in the way in which they act and doing no harm to anybody.

We would like to invite one or more of your to join us as a Guest Designer in a future challenge.  If you would like to be considered please put
GDT after your name when you enter.

Anne will be back a bit later with our winner from the last challenge.

This fortnight we're sponsored once again by Tammy Thompson the illustrator and owner of A Day For Daisies. We all love to create with her wonderful and whimsical digital stamps.  No matter your personal style, you can find it over at

A Day For Daisies.

SSW2-56: A Day For Daisies

There are several wonderful things about living in Colorado Springs (beautiful views are at the top of the list) but one of the fun things that locals can do is tell the month of the year using only their ears!  What?!!  True!!  At the end of May, the Air Force Cadets graduate and the Thunderbirds roar overhead to help them celebrate.

The Jets fly in synchronized patterns and it is just amazing to watch their precision ... the ROAR of their jet engines is pretty fun too!

Usually their 6 pilots arrive about a week early and we get about a week to enjoy them as they practice navigating the mountain thermals in the area.  The boys and I enjoyed watching their practices in the Stop and Drop line at their school!

Actually, the entire Academy is gorgeous.  I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area.

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for some FUN over here at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  We have a new sketch and the return of a favored sponsor.

Before we get started with our new challenge, I want to announce last week's winner.  Yippee, it's YOU ...
