Mr. Snowman

This fun snowman is called Snowball Sam at A Day for Daisies!  Isn't he adorable?
I had fun coloring but after the stickles dried I realized his red button ran!

A Day For Daisies began as a small token to a constant need to create. Pairing a love of whimsical illustration, with a tidy graphic design background, Tammy S Thompson, produced her first stamp designs, introducing irresistibly sweet stamps to crafters around the globe. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful world around us, she strives to express the happiness and gratitude she feels in each stamp design she creates.
Presently, A Day For Daisies has grown to over 3,000 Digital Stamps with a quickly expanding line of Best Loved Clear Polymer. A Day For Daisies has been published and awarded over the years for innovative and unique designs created to inspire the crafting community. With a whole team behind her now, she remains passionate about illustration, obsessed with quality, and dedicated to her customers. A Day For Daisies thanks you for your ideas, comments, and creativity!

Cute Polar Bear and
Digi Stamp Boutique

Welcome back to my blog this week!  I seem to be getting my life back after a very busy fall and winter.  I am hoping to create a card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 at least once a month.  So I hope you will check back often and see what I create.

This image is call "Cute Polar Bear" and you can find him at Digi Stamp Boutique.  Sally Ann is our sponsor this week at SSW2 and I know you can find an image that will talk to you and make you want to use the SSW2 Sketch of the week.

"All images/designs are created and copyright owned by Sally-Ann Hancock.  My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too, often the inspiration for my designs.  Hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoy creating them."

The Grand Prize winner for this week's challenge will win a £10 voucher at Digi Stamp Boutique. Sure hope you will play along.

Some of you may be getting tired of Christmas and winter cards but I haven't been able to create much in the last two years so I was motivated to find a winter image to go with my new snowflake corner by  Memory Box.  I also have the matching border and was going to try to use it with this sketch but it was too much and took away from the image.  I will use it another time.  A friend of mine, Lin, sent me a Christmas card using these two die cuts and I just had to have them.

This is the front of Lin's card using the snowflake border die and the inside of her card is using the snowflake corner die.  It's an adorable pop-up card with the trees and the snowmen!  Lin, you are amazing!  I always look forward to receiving your Christmas card every year!

Now my craft room has been in a dormant stage for the last two years and I was amazed when I made my card and realized how many new items I haven't used that were still in their original packaging. Guess I had better get creating so I can use them.  Is anyone else in this predicament?

Hope you are enjoying your JanYOUary and doing things you want to do!

Hugs, Judi

Sweet Sketch 184
Sponsor:  A Day for Daisies

Hello everyone!  It's wonderful to play along this week.  I had a friend phone me last week to ask why I hadn't posted anything since October.  Well, I'll be honest....I have been busy, busy, busy vacationing, watching my grand daughter and also working on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Schedule.  I have also had a two week set back with a cold but I'm much better now and ready to enjoy the holiday season.

The image I used for today's sketch is "Frosty" from A Day for Daisies.  Doesn't it just flood your mind with memories of your childhood making snowmen with your siblings on a snowy wintry day?

This image also reminded me of a Utah Artist, Robert Duncan.  I'm sure you will  recognize his artwork at Robert Duncan Gallery.  These are four prints that I own and I just love them.  So that is why I chose "Frosty" at A Day for Daisies.  Hope you enjoy!

Here is Sketch 184 for this week's challenge.

Thank you, Tammy, for sponsoring us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week!  Your images are amazing and always touch that little emotional string in our hearts!

Icicle Arrangement

Happy New Year!
I hope you are all enjoying the new year and relaxing and reminiscing the memories created in the past few weeks!
I have all my Christmas decorations stored away for next year except this new icicle arrangement I made in November.  I just wanted to share it with you.  I saw an arrangement similar to this at a local craft store, Artco, here in Tacoma.  Their arrangement was much larger and they had used White Cherry Blossoms instead of the greenry and berries. My picture doesn't seem to do it justice but hopefully you can enjoy the beauty of this icicle wonder!  I have decided to keep this arrangement out for the month of January!
I was so taken by this snowy branch that has lights on it.  Then I found a pic that had the icicle greenry, icicles on a branch and white berries.  I found a small glass vase and added fine snow to fill the vase. And the cute little white birds are the finishing touch!  Wa la!!!! The lit branches are battery operated.  I change the batteries about every 7-8 days.

Water Pearls and Submersible Lights

I also had fun this season experimenting with Water Pearls which you can find online.  I found mine at Joann's along with some submersible lights.  I was able to use, of course, my 50% off coupons which saved alot on this little exstravaganza.  The lights I chose could be several different colors: blue, green, or  red or flashing blue, green, red, and white.

The little pearls are about the size of a mustard seed.  You hydrate them and they become a half inch to a inch depending on the size you purchase.  I have seen them before but always thought they were marbles.  It's the light that makes this so appealing.  It's lovely in a floral arrangement.

Here are photos of the submersible light and the package of water pearls!
I used one tablespoon and it made about one gallon of pearls.  I will be experimenting more with this fun find...thanks to my good friend, Cheryl!

Wow, just a few more days until Christmas!  I do have to say this year has flown by for me.  The years are actually going faster and faster.  I do not think that I am imagining it!
I have tried to simplify a little more this year but I still need to learn, "How to Not Stress!"

This week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday our sponsor is Fresh Brewed Designs!  Oh how I love Heather's images!  Heather use to be on our SSW DT.  She is a fabulous lady who loves the Lord and promotes her products with that in mind!  She has even created some beautiful religous images...some of which I have happily loved using.  We also love her wintery images and for the second year in a row we are again showcasing her winter images...There are many more than our DT has used this week so please look around and enjoy Heather's site.

This is Arlana's new sketch for this week...an oval inside a circle!

Jack and Snowman
Sweet Sketch 72
Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Today I need to show off my darling new little grand daughter. Last month I flew to Okinawa for my daughter's scheduled c-section which was scheduled four days after my arrival but my grand daughter was not going to wait. She knew that Grandma was coming and she wanted to come too. When no one was at the airport to greet me, I knew that my daughter was at the hospital. As I resigned myself to waiting in the airport, my daughter's friends arrived and rushed me to the hospital. We arrived five minutes after her birth...perfect timing for Grandma to enjoy all those special moments!

What a sweet surprise!

She definitely is a miracle baby! Mom is doing well too!

Well, today is another special day. It is Sweet Sketch Wednesday! Arlana has created another wonderful sketch for you to play with this week!

We also have a fabulously dedicated sponsor that has sponsored SSW for the past year every single month. I just want to personally thank Sally Ann, the owner and creator of
Digi Stamp Boutique for sponsoring Arlana's Sweet Sketch Wednesday site. We have loved using her fun images to create our cards with.
Below is Digi Stamp Boutique's Jack and Snowman.
Isn't this image just adorable!

Sally Ann creates so many new images every single month. I always have such a difficult time trying to decide which image I want to use. Right now I am just trying to enjoy her Christmas images. Every time I visit her blog she has added new images! You just need to take the time to visit her site and choose a few of your favorite images. Then be sure to stop by SSW and see all the fun DT cards that have been created for your enjoyment!
