Robin Stjernberg - Scars (video)

Robin Stjernberg who's gonna be announced next Monday in a final bunch of Melodifestivalen artists premieres video for his latest single "Scars". Nice to see him experimenting with image which is a bit Adam Lambert-lite pack but Adam is a proper pop-character to follow visually and it's gonna be exciting to see what Robin will come up with at MF. You can also check Robin doing "Scars" in acoustic on the radio below.

Robin Bengtsson - Cross the Universe

Robin Bengtsson (3rd place of Idol-2008 - Anna Bergendahl, Kevin Borg, Alice Svensson) is finally back with a new and very good single "Cross the Universe".
After his first post-Idol attempt "Another Lover's Gone" released back in 2009 Robin never was away presenting his acoustic covers and being involved earlier this year in Byz's single "Tjena, Tjena, Tjena".
But now it's time for Robin's own single which was co-written by him with Linnea Debb, Joy Debb and Robin Stjernberg. Linnea and Joy were involved in Ulrik Munther's platinum single "Soldiers" and "Cross the Universe" feels on the one hand like a logical progression of "Another Lover's Gone" and on the other hand it sounds like a more mature version of "Soldiers" starting with just a singer's voice and guitar in a simple sing-a-long combination and rushing on you with a massive beat of the chorus.
Great pop-comeback which I hope won't be followed by another releasing break.

Robin Stjernberg - Scars

Idol-2011 runner-up Robin Stjernberg is a top-candidate to take part in next season of Melodifestivalen and this weekend he has premiered his new single "Scars" to be released on Wednesday.
The song has turned to be an amazing progression of Robin's "All This Way" and "On My Mind". Though "All This Way" was mainly a pop-song with a dance-beat and rock-energy, "On My Mind" has crossed pop-rock line and "Scars" has gone even rockier with all that perfect pop-growth of the song. The moments when Robin goes pitchy high in choruses are still the most effective about his singles bringing some extra-power to a whole pack based on a great tune. You can check live-performance and I bet it's not any worse than studio-version.

Robin Stjernberg, Nanne and Markoolio in Liseberg

Robin Stjernberg has finally got his big TV-premiere of the summer single "On My Mind" and we still adore a big voice this guy have. Definitely looking forward to his new stuff. Nanne was mostly presenting songs from her tribute rock-album and you know that this woman is an internal source of energy so this was another time when she was generously sharing this energy with the audience.

Robin Stjernberg - On My Mind

Idol-2012 runner-up Robin Stjernberg works hard on solo-career. His debut album "My Versions" has become #1 in Sweden and Robin keeps recording new stuff, we can check the result of process held in studio since Idol final already now.
New Robin's single "On My Mind" is presented with new video and it feels like a great follow-up of "All This Way", it's a pop-rock track with all its beautiful growth you can expect from Idol winning track and Robin vocally giving all extra he's able to give making extremely high notes. "On My Mind" is very summerish and modern so Robin gets it as a good card to present himself during summer pop-festivals.
By the way special kudos to Robin for inviting our another Idol-favorite Amanda Persson to take part in video.

20 years of Bingolotto

Bingolotto celebrates 20 years anniversary so we've got nice music gift from TV4 gathering recent Christmas tour colleagues Elisabeth Andreassen and Marie Serneholt, Idol Robin Stjernberg with one of covers from his compilation "My Versions", Christer Sjögren with Eurovision-classic "Djingis Khan" and Håkan "Nordman" Hemlin with new solo single "När Stockholm somnar in". Nice selection for the most different tastes.

Christmas weekend on Swedish TV

Merry Christmas, dear readers! Swedish TV presents a nice set of Christmas concerts with wonderful bunch of Swedish pop artists and we're gonna check what you've probably missed but still can watch online.

TV3's Julkonsert was visited by Thomas Di Leva with new single "Julens Stjärna" (5.15), Takida performing their latest promoted track "You Learn" (11.50), Jill Johnson expectedly singing "I väntan på julen" (16.07) and "Away in a manger" (33.12), Erik Hassle and (seems like really new track, I still can't find any info) "Stay" (24.30) and wonderful Loreen making acoustic version of "My Heart Is Refusing Me" (28.40) with One Voice featuring Caroline Jönsson, Britta Bergström and Simon Hassle.

Last snippet of JulLotta included performances of Magnus Carlsson with new Christmas single "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" (7.35) and "O Helga Natt" (38.30), Elisa's "Jag Säger Som Det Är" (10.55) and they've even made folk-and-artists-karaoke "White Christmas" in duo (26.40) and "Vi Äro Musikanter" (35.40).

Yesterday we've got special Bingolotto show with premiere of "Last Christmas" from Youngblood I already wrote about, guys have come back once again to perform "All I Want For Christmas Is You" with their future schlager-rival Molly Sandén (1.57.15), you could also watch Robert Wells with Vocalettes (00.40, 2.50.08) and Sofia Källgren singing recently released Christmas duo "I Julens Tid" (2.14.00), Jill Johnson making "Christmas With You" solo (54.34) and singing "En julsaga" in duo with Niklas Hjulström (1.44.50). Idol-2011 runner-up Robin Stjernberg was performing cover of Beyonce's "Halo" (1.09.50).

And finally a small acoustic piece of Christmas-Måns who should've appeared on any/every of these concerts but has just performed newest single "Kära Vinter" at #AdamLive.

Robin Stjernberg - My Versions

Winner of the last Idol season Amanda Fondell has become #1 this week with final song "All This Way" she's got her victory in Globen with and her compilation of Idol covers enters album chart at #6 today.
Runnner-up of this season Robin Stjernberg isn't forgotten though, Robin being signed by Lionheart is releasing his own Idol-compilation "My Versions" on January 4th and the first single from it will be Beyonce's cover "Halo" - track that we'd absolutely choose if we had to before listening to sampler or Jessie J's "Who You are", both are huge emotional modern ballads showing full range of Robin's voice. But now when we get sampler I think Jason Derulo's "In My Head" could be a better choice to sell in Robin's performance, really fresh and not promoted enough to be directly felt like Idol-cover, "You Raise Me Up" has a nice spiritual atmosphere nicely lightened with Robin's pop-vocal, "Love Is Gone" sounds like a version that I could easily imagine released by David Guetta without help of Chris Willis. Here I should come back to thoughts about Alexander Bard's note regarding Robin's potential to get a huge demand among world DJs, this guy has amazing vocal for club-records and we're really interested if this will be his after-Idol path. Right after "My Versions" release Robin will be working on his non-cover album whole spring.

Robin Stjernberg/Amanda Fondell - All This Way

You know around week ago I've written complaining post about what a huge disappointment this Idol has turned when selection stage was over with Moa Lignell being the only participant I see any perspective of career after Idol. In my opinion Moa, Amanda Persson and Robin Stjernberg were the biggest highlights of this season. However I was saving my post for the finalists to be defined and now when we've got them we've also got probably the most brilliant Idol winning single since Agnes' "Right Here Right Now" and one of my faves in the final so I forgive you Idol-2011 for everything I wasn't satisfied with.
Track "All This Way" was written by Darin and Arnthor Birgisson and is already released in two different versions of Amanda Fondell and Robin Stjernberg getting explosive uptempo-chorus with Adam Lambert-smelling expressive Robin's vocal and more calm, dramatical and jazzy Amanda's version which is also very beautiful.
Robin's version is so brilliant that looking at my post I feel like I'm too talkative to be so speechless like I have to be.
