Boardwalk

I am thrilled to be sharing with you the latest release from Artistic Outpost!  The new release this month is called Boardwalk.  The plate  reflects the historic Atlantic City's boardwalk along with the bathing beauties and handsome gents you would find on the beach.

Artistic Outpost is also having a sale giving you 15% off all rubber stamps purchased between now and June 8th, 2013. No coupon needed.

Onto some samples I created using the new plate.  First up I decided to use a glass bottle sitting on my shelf:

I stamped the images on vellum and cardstock and colored them using my  watercolor pencils, paint and mists.  I added a layer of sand and shells on the bottom and slipped in the images.  I stamped the fun sentiment and tied it to the top with a touch of raffia.

My second project used the painted backgrounds to stamp the beach huts.

I turned it into an easel card with a beach created from torn sandpaper. I layered it along the bottom.  I stamped the girls multiple times to cut out their swimsuits to coordinate with the huts.

I finished off the cards with a scene created using a few different sets:

I stamped the grass from the Keeper plate in brown ink along the bottom of my cardstock. I added a few layers of grass in the foreground and added shading along the ground with watercolor pencils. I then distressed the edges and stamped the girls and popped them up on the background. I added a few details with the baby shells and some twine. and the lovely sentiment.

Hop along to see all the other fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team:

Thanks for Stopping By!

Enjoy Simple Beauty

Happy Saturday!  It's raining rubber at my house!  I have a few new releases just hit my desk that I am creating with. Of course that means not sharing anything too much on my blog. :)

I took a break from my other projects to create a tag for the Fashionable Stamping Challenge of Anything Goes
I used a combination of Artistic Outpost Sets to create my tag.  (Keeper, Whimsical Melange, Old Grist Mill) The background was supposed to emulate the flannel shirt. I had embossed using a Sizzix embossing folder and smeared a combination of blues, reds and brown distress inks over the surface.  My favorite was creating the string of fish. I stamped, colored with the coordinating distress inks and cut them out to attach to the twine.

Of course I had to add the ruler as every fish needs to be measured!

We are celebrating my youngest birthday with a family party. A little delayed due to our vacation.  Things are wrapping up for the summer. My older kids are back in school next week.  Maybe it will quiet down a bit after that.

Have a lovely weekend!
