Happy Heart Day!

Time for another Valentine's day card. I decided to get my mojo on with the Mojo Monday Sketch #330.  This is the last week in the month so the Mojo Monday sketch offers up two different ways to use the sketch. this is a long and skinny sketch and you can make it in two different sizes. I chose the 6" x 3.5" size for my card.  To make it even easier for me I decided to use the colors in the Color Throwdown Challenge #277.

I started with the cute dog Simon and his girlfriend from Simon Says Stamp - Simon in Love.

I followed the sketch and rotated it.  I used Authentique paper for the bottom and added a touch of pink vellum with rounded corners.  The twine is May Arts.  I added a few hearts cut using Spellbinders Nested Hearts.   The image is colored with STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell watercolor pencil.

Sketch & Color Palette:

Have a lovely day!

Music & Years

This card was designed with the Card Patterns Sketch # 133, the Color Throwdown #160 colors and the music is for the City Crafter Challenge of Music

The main circle was glimmer misted with pink chalkboard mist over a music mask.  I cut a circle from the background and mounted it on a brown circle. Sponged the edges with a hint of brown dye ink.
The flowers, ribbon and sheet of music also received a coat of the same chalkboard mist.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dahlia

Happy Wednesday!  I am loving my new Dahlia and created a second card for the City Crafter Challenge 1..2..3.. challenge (1 ribbon, 2 words, 3 butterflies) and Color Throwdown. The design started from the Moxie Fab World Square sketch challenge.

The stamps are Stampendous: Jumbo Cling Dahlia, Sentiment. Paper is from Authentique. The butterflies are Marvy Uchida Punches.  The flower is watercolor pencils and waterbrush. The edges are sponged with Broken China.

Trio of Birdhouse Tags

I created a trio of birdhouse tags for the following challenges: Simon Says Stamp and Show a Tag, City Crafter Challenge - Home Sweet Home, and one of the tags for the Color Throwdown #153.

Tag #1:

The stamps are all from Class Act - Chapel Road Artstamps Butterfly Square, Inchy Words, Old Script, and  Vanity Women.
The second tag is for the Color Throwdown Challenge and uses a B Line Design Bird, vintage papers and lace trim from Artistic Outpost.  The sentiment is stickers from Authentique.

This little tag uses Maya Road Flowers and Memory Box stamps.

I had so much fun with these little birdhouses. If I had more time I would have made different birdhouses for different themes (School House, Picasso's house, Haunted House, Gingerbread house)  Really fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Card

I mixed the Mojo #189 Sketch Challenge with the Color Throwdown #140 colors to create this whimsical baby card. The new Valise papers from Memory Box are based on kraft paper. Love the colors in the papers and they fit perfectly with the challenge colors. I decided to pair it with the fun Memory Box Bubble Gum dots paper.

The sweet elephant and balloons are from Memory Box. Memory Box has dies now!  I used one of the new dies to create the scalloped doily border. They cut like a dream.

Here is a list of all the products: Memory Box: Valise, Bubble Gum Dots, Dies - Pearl Lace, Little Banner, Mama and Baby Combo, Balloon Bundle, Thank You Combo, Nestabilities Lacy Circles, Watercolor Pencils, Glitter, Memento Rich Cocoa Dye Ink, Black Versafine Pigment ink

I was inspired to try a second card using Stella Rose papers:

Here is the lovely sketch:
Hope your week is going well!

Color Throwdown 100th Challenge & Moxie Fab World Challenge

I kept seeing the 100th Challenge for Color Throwdown popping up online and decided to check out the colors.

Pretty? Yep! So I decided to give it a whirl. I also noticed that they were similar to the inspiration layout for the Moxie Fab World - Finding Inspiration in a Layout Challenge.

So I used both as my inspiration for this card...

You know how you get a card 80% there and you can't quite figure out how to finish it off?  That was this card. I had the base all finished but couldn't figure out what I wanted as my main image.  At 4:00 AM this morning it came to me. :)  The words on the music background are children's songs around wind, parks, and kids and the paper was from Fly a Kite.

The final burst of inspiration was to layer a sheet of vellum and use the fabulous Hero Arts cloud stamp and ink it up with Versamark and stamp it on the vellum add some of the beautiful Pebbles Inc chalk and you have soft clouds wafting behind your kite!

Products:
  • Basic Grey - Urban Prairie
  • October Afternoon - Fly a Kite, Thrift Shop
  • Vellum
  • Pebbles, Inc. Pearlescent Chalk
  • Hero Arts - Clouds
  • Versamark Watermark Ink
  • Buttons, Twine
  • EK Success Border Punch
  • Silk Ribbon - May Arts
Hope your Saturday is fun!
