ToU updated

Just a quick note for all our Sugar Addicts out there, we have updated our terms of use due to continual issue being brought to our attention.

As we are about to launch more digital images we need you to know that if you are looking for a quick and easy way to make money out of someone else's artwork, don't choose Sugar Nellie.

Our job is to bring new and exciting art, we pay for the art we use and we also have terms to abide by. I personally spend a lot of time searching for the right artist, quality and originality. It is a delight to please you with my finds.

We are not alone in fighting issues and if you see anything that warrants attention, please help all stamp companies by reporting it to STAMP OUT where they now have a legal representative to deal with matters properly.

Mmmmm.....GINGERBREAD.......

Morning all.......

Hope you all had a lovely weekend....and happy Halloween to those who celebrate it....

It's Vicky here today.....and I am showcasing my final Manga image for you...and it's the yummy, scrummy Gingerbread...isn't she just so gorgeous??

I have used lots of lovely layers....and as always I have "matted" my papers on some contrast card as you can see...it just gives the gorgeous papers more definition.....

and a  close up...

.....you can see I have used lashing of Deco Art glamour dust  for added sparkle..!

and a side view....

I have left the card free from loads of embellies...just a little piece of lace which I stapled on to keep it in place...a lot easier then getting loads of glue everywhere...!

and my little tip this week....I always use a photo glue to layer my papers on my base card...
I find I can "move" my layers into place....and get them straight...lol...!

So I hope you likey....and for more details please pop over to my blog here...

Hope you all have a super day....and happy trick or treating tonight...

big hugs Vicky xx

Sugar Nellie DT Showcase Sunday.

Good Morning Sugar Addicts.

I am back here today to showcase the last of the new DT members.
Today we have the lovely...

My name is Jane and I am a self confessed craft addict and am completely hooked on Papercrafting. I love making cards and try to make time to craft every day. I have been making cards since September 2008 and blogging since May 2009. I love patterned papers and rubber stamping and enjoy taking part in Challenges and Competitions and blog hopping for inspiration. Discovering Papercraft has had such a positive influence on my life and has allowed me to make some very good Friends.

Jane always creates the most brightest and beautiful cards...

Jane's super sweet card uses the Fairy Glen image Faye and Freddie. Jane has used a strawberry charm and paper, which along with the little strawberry on the image perfectly ties the whole card together.

I have a huge soft spot for this little lady Pippi Longsocks, very cute but with a little attitude!

Jane has used the Gorgeous Girls image Bear Hug for this card, which was her entry into a  Sugar Bowl challenge.

A beautiful Christmas card in the traditional red and green colour combo, using the stamp Puss in Boots.

And finally, I had to show you a card with a Sassy image on it..this one is called Luv a Latte
I will be applying the thumbscrews to Maria to get some information out of her...I'm quite sure there must be a new set of Sassy's on the horizon?

I've loved showing you the new DT girlies, but next week I will be back to business as usual and showcasing a Sugar Addict.

Thanks for looking.

Two Manga note books.

Hello sugar friends. It is me, Marianne, that have something to show you today.
You have seen a lot of Manga in the Sugar Nellie blog lately, and today I also have a couple of Manga girls to show you. I needed a pause from all my Christmas projects, and wanted to do something completely different. And believe me, this is different! Totally different from all the stuff I normally do:)
The Manga stamps are so gorgeous, it is a shame I don`t use them more often. You can buy them all at Funky Kits.
I have made two notebooks, and colored my images with Prisma Colors on craft cardstock. My books are all craft, with one bright contrast color.

To make this project a real challenge, I have tried to make the books Clean & Simple. Not exactly my usual style, and it was not easy! But I like to try out new things, and I ended up having a lot of fun making these books.
My first book has got the contrast color turquoise. After coloring the image, I used a corner dies from Nellie Snellen in one corner, and framed it with turquoise cardstock. The decoration is only one flower, one rose, two swirls and six pearls, all in the same color.

My second book is made the exact same way, only with bright pink as the contrast color.

My books have the same C&S style inside. A text, one colored panel, and a notebook in matching colors.

I hope you liked my small note books, and you are always welcome to visit my blog.
Have a lovely weekend all of you.
Hugs from Marianne.

Hello Sugar Addicts, hope you are all well.

Thank you Marianne for a super wee project,
perfect for the school sale but I will confess to using the little bitty note pads from Asda
as I don't own a bind it all *shocked*

I am still in Glasgow, down here to visit the SECC, catch up with friends at the show
and do a little shopping with my daughters in between. Boot is full so I had better be fussy what I buy on Sunday as space is limited.

Today we did Country Baskets, Ikea and Asda so now the girls can eat again!

I am also making plans for NEXT WEEKEND,
sssshhhhh don't tell but we are one year older
and there is going to be birthday presents...............for you!

catch you later
Karen

Miss Claus!

Time flies when we are busy and so it is friday again, so time for me to post a new card for you. I've made a tag this time with a little tag in it. The biggest one I folded at the bottom, so the little one with Miss Claus on it, fits into that tag. It is very simple so you should give it a try sometimes! The flowers I'v made myself with the MCGill flower punches so you can make them in every color you want!

Miss Claus is a beautifull Home Grown Manga stamp, and one of my favorites. You can use her for many occasions. This time she is a bit in winter style,I've colored her with prisma pencils and copics markers. And ofcourse lots of stickles!! The background on that tag is made with a music notes stamp and brown ink.

So that all from me for now, Miss Claus is waving at you and so am I and wishing you a lovely weekend!

Hugs Tiets xx

Santa Baby....

....Slip some rubber under the tree, for me
I've been an awful good girl
Santa baby, hurry down down the chimney tonight.

There are only 58 days to Christmas!!!

I seem to have developed a terrible obsession with Christmas this year. This is VERY unusual for me! Every year it gets to mid December before I start to panic at the thought of Christmas on the horizon with no cards made, no gifts bought and me feeling about as festive as the Grinch. But this year I'm getting in the spirit early!
I actually blame Karen MacIver and her Jingle Bells and Tinkle Bells stamps for my infatuation with all things festive. These are my most favourite Christmas stamps ever!

This is Kathleen's entry into the Sugar Bowl challenge. The theme of Clean and Simple is perfect for showcasing this gorgeous image Titania.

But then I also love my Sassy rubber too....

I just LOVE Ann's Sassy Christmas card. Beautiful and bright with her fabulous colouring of Puppy Love.

Oh...and then there are Fairy Glen stamps..too much choice for my simple brain!

Janette has used Delia - not sold as a Christmas stamp - to create her fabulous Christmas Wish card.
All it takes is a sentiment to turn Delia into a festive fairy. Rubber stamps can be so versatile...all it takes is a little imagination.

So what will you be asking Santa to leave under your Christmas tree this year?
If you've been good of course..you know Santa has a naughty/nice list and he checks it twice!

Today is the first day of the craft show at the SECC in Glasgow, and there will be lots of lovely Sugar Addicts going to spend the day shopping for new stash, and meeting up with each other. I hope you all have a fabulous fun filled day.

Thanks for looking.

The beautiful Jasmine!

LinkGood Morning Everyone! I hope you are well, it's Jane here and I have a card to share with you today made using the beautiful 'Jasmine' who is available to buy here from Sugar Nellie. Jasmine is so tall and elegant I just had to create a nice girly card with her using lots of pink and flowers.

The papers I used are by Echo Park and the gingham is a Pink Petticoat download. I used some beautiful pink ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and the flowers and button are from my stash. The sentiment is by CC designs. The finished card is 6x6inches. I thought I would give you a step by step breakdown of how I made the card with a couple of tips along the way which you will hopefully find useful!

To make the card:
  1. Cut the gingham to 6x6inches to fit the card base and die cut a scalloped square from the middle of the paper which you will use to frame the image.
  2. Cut a piece of cream flowery paper to 14x14cm, add to gingham square, sew around the inside edge of the flower paper.
  3. Cut a strip of gingham paper to 15cmx5cm, top with a strip of yellow patterned paper cut to 15cmx4cm, sew around the edges and then add to the papers you layered up in step 2 with double sided tape.
  4. Stamp the sentiment on the bottom right of the yellow strip, wrap with ribbon and add all layers to the card base with double sided tape.
  5. Stamp and colour your image, die cut into a square and add to scalloped square. Add to the card at an angle. By adding the image this way, I find you are able to get other embellishments on the card without overwhelming the image and it adds a bit more interest than just adding it on straight.
  6. Add flowers to the top right of the image and a bow topped with a button in the diagonally opposite corner to balance the design. I always add my flowers with a glue gun to make sure they stick on hard and fast!
  7. Add a couple of gems, finish with glitter and leave to dry!

I will leave you with a close up of the beautiful Jasmine, coloured in with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and glittered with glitter glue.
Have a fabulous Wednesday!
Jane

a touch of Gold and Black...

Good morning everyone Its my turn today to show you some lushness from the House of Sugar...I hope your not all suffering with this terrible weather the heavens opened a few days ago here and it hasn't dried up since, you would wonder how a sky could hold that much sogginess...isn't it amazing the things we forget we have in our stash...I had forgotten all about this beautiful Home Grown Manga stamp called Goldilocks...look at all that lush now who could forget this beauty...I used some gorgeous lush paper from Fancy Pants All Fall range for her, the colours are just perfect for all that hair which I painted gold...I also picked up all the blue in the paper and used blue buttons to make it stand out more...this fantastic chipboard sentiment I found at the bottom of a box and it just went perfectly with the paper don't you think...so have a rummage in all your forgotten boxes and stash places you never know what you will find...my next card is using another of the stunning Fairy Glen release, I love this new collection don't you, and of course some of them make the most gorgeous Christmas cards too...I love it when I can use a stamp for more than one occasion...this little darling is called Let Them Eat Cake, the paper I used is another Fancy Pants design but all I had was just a scrap so to make it stand out for the sketch I added some plain black card as a contrast...I often add something like this to scraps to make the colours pop and to separate layers, have a go it really works and of course it doesn't have to be black...I as always coloured my two beauties with distress inks...both these are available at Funky Kits of course...right I'm off to hibernate until it stops raining...if you don't hear from me on my blog for more than a day send help...keep safe everyone and have a wonderful day

Oldies but Goodies!

Hello Sugar lovers!! Hope your weekend was fab and that your Monday is off to a splendiferous start!! I was just thinking...revisiting some of my "older" Sugar Nellie stamps is a little like visiting old friends! You know, there have been so many gorgeous "new" SN stamps making their debuts lately...and, believe me, I am lovin' each and every one...but I thought it might be fun to dust off one of my more "vintage" SN stamps for this week. Soooo...say hello to..."Sitting Pretty!"

Isn't she adorable? "Sitting Pretty" is from Sugar Nellie's "Home Grown" Manga collection...available at Funky Kits HERE...and I am embarrassed to tell you that I've had her for more than a year and, until now, she's never even been within spitting distance of ink! Well, now, that's just wrong! Right?? I tell ya, she was such fun to color! And, I promise you, this card started out as "Clean and Simple"...hehehe!

Well...it's true...and if you look closely, you'll see that this really is a very simple card...maybe not clean but absolutely simple!! After choosing my SN image, coloring her (with Copics & prismacolor pencils), and fussy cutting her...I began working on the card inself....

I started out with white cardstock...my cards always measure 5.5" x 5.5" (that way they'll fit into 6" x 6" envelopes)...then I pulled out a pad of DPs...in this case, I used Bo Bunny's "Midnight Frost" collection. Generally, when I make cards, I choose DPs from the same pad/manufacturer...that way I can be reasonably certain they'll mix, match, and/or complement each other!! In this case, I chose only TWO different patterns of DPs from the Bo Bunny pad...one design for the front...and a different one for the inside....

I opted for a very simple layout...a single circle in the middle...that's it!  I used my Nestabilities to cut out a circle of white cardstock and a lacy circle out of Night of Navy cardstock (from Stampin' Up)...I embossed the white circle using a Cuttlebug "snowflakes" embossing folder...and then decided to weave pearl garland through the lacy circle. That served as my focal point for little Miss "Sitting Pretty"! I also cut out 5 snowflakes (using a Martha Stewart punch) and one large snowflake with a Spellbinders snowdflake die. Then I simply started securing everything...with Score-tape and foam dimensionals!

I added a ready-made doily...a generous amount of Martha Stewart Coarse glitter...a ribbon...some light blue pearls...and a couple of ticket sentiments! See? Easy peasy, right? The inside was even simpler...two sheets of DPs layered onto cardstock...the top stamped with "Merry Christmas"...and that's it!

So...that's the process I went through to make this simple, yet "fussy" looking little card!! If you'd like the list of Copics and Prismacolor pencils used to color little Miss "Sitting Pretty"...just pop on over to my bloggity blog HERE. I love visitors!

Thanks so much for visiting...and for your sweet comments! And...just a little reminder...Karen has some fabby new stamps coming out...and Gayle has some fun, fun, FUN things planned for their debut...so keep coming back so you can be the very first to get your crafty little hands on some of the new Sugar! Oh...and be sure to stop back tomorrow when Mina has some gorgeous goodies to show you!

Hugs...until next time...
Pat

Sugar Nellie DT Showcase Sunday.

Good Morning Sugar Babes...

If you are a regular reader of my Sunday morning posts then you will know that for the past few weeks I've been shining the spotlight down on our new DT girlies.
But this week it is a little different...I have two ladies to shine the spotlight on today.
I love these ladies cards so much that I have previously done showcases on both of them, before they were chosen for the DT...I just knew I had excellent taste!

First up this morning we have the very sweet and talented...

Vicky's beautiful card uses the image Manga Princess.

Vicky was the very first lady I asked if I could write a post on her. I love her style of card making.
Her style is clean and uncluttered, very striking and her cards are instantly recognisable.
To see my original post on Vicky please go HERE.

Next up we have the the very lovely...

Astrid has used the image Wish Upon A Star for her gorgeous card.

I showcased Astrid a couple of months ago, just before the last DT call. I love her style of card making too.
Totally different from Vicky's style but just as beautiful, I adore the many added extras on her detailed and intricate scrap cards.
To see my original post on Astrid please go HERE.

I have just one more DT lady to showcase and then I'll be on the hunt in blogland for some more Sugar Addicts. Don't forget that if you would like to have your Sugar Nellie cards shown here then you can always leave me a private comment on any of my posts or EMAIL me.

Thanks for looking.

free stamps?

Oh you know how much I like cake, I can pass on the chocolate biscuits and crisps but cake now that is why I carry a spare tyre around with me. But as my weight continues to go up and never  down *rolls eyes*  I am being real fussy which cake I indulge in, if it's a supermarket cake I will pass but if its from the baker or even better still hand made I can not resist. I tend not to choose chocolate based cake, no eclair for me but anything else with fresh cream would be hard to resist. No if you have found the joy of  PINTEREST you will know that there are pages of mouth watering bakes, just as well I don't drool or my key board would be a right mess!

So Fiona who kindly keeps on top of the challenge over on our Facebook pages has been picking cake as the colour inspiration for the weekly challenge. And this is the current one.....

It's gorgeous and I am sure EVA loved it. But look, no water mark, no idea who's it is or where its come from, remember what I say WaterMarkAllYourPhotosOnTheWeb.

Can you work with these colours?
Are you already part of our Face Book group; Sugar Nellie , you could win FREE RUBBER

Remember too that there is a twice a month challenge over on the Sugar Bowl and if that was not enough chances to win some Sugar Nellie Stamps there will be more Candy landing here soon! Keep an eye out because (best radio voice) *you have to be in it to win it.*. And the current challenge is so easy you just cant find any excuse not to join in can you?
you could WIN FREE RUBBER

Over on our Simply Sassy blog each week the girls give away FREE RUBBER

and if that was not enough, Gayle is working on a weekly give away MORE FREE RUBBER and me, well I am working on a special edition stamp only available FREE when you purchase the next SIMPLY SASSY release.
*whispers* not long now until our 4th birthday, I just cant wait to open our presents and share them with our blog friends :)

*****************
Here on the farm we have a new addition, DH and Son went shopping yesterday down to Stirling and came home with a new bull, not that I, being your no-where-near-perfect-farmers-wife, would recognise him, BUT the thing is, his name is Basil...................first thing I say to hubby............I hope he's not Faulty!  A bull that does not work is a bull no more. LOL
On a sadder note the farm dog aged 12 had to be put down and the storms yesterday knocked over the guinea pig hutch and we have yet to find the runaways in a very over grown garden with a lot of hedges. :(

I did take out my sewing machine, yes its out of the box after 5 years! I know this because the receipt was still in the box. I made a sling bag out of scraps from the local curtain fabric shop. I will not be showing you nor will I be submitting it to any one's close inspection, but for now we still have a flower to make to decorate and its done, I am sure the second one will be better.

I have also been playing with something new in the crafting world, a first for two BIG company's working together and I LOVE IT, and as always I will share with you even if its not Sugar Nellie, I just have to have some samples done first and then I will let Mark have them so they are available for you to play with too.

That's all my news girls, I hope that the weather has been kind to you and that you are giving our sweet rubber a fair amount of inky love.

take care

Karen ...........100 words max ;)

Make a Christmas Wish !!!

Hi everyone, it's Friday and it is my turn to show you a card :)

I made this card with the gorgeous stamp "Old St. Nick" available HERE.
This stamp is from "the Tinkle Bells & Jingle Bells" collection, you can find him and all the other lovely stamps from this release at Funkykits.

Materials I've used:

Paper - Maja Design "Frödefull Jull"
Stamp Old St. Nick
Nestabillities oval and scalloped
Die Tim Holtz - Filmstrip
Stickles - Frosted Lace
Ticket Tim Holtz
Gauze bandage
Ribbon
Copics
Doily
Roses

The card messures 12 x 15 cm

For now I wanna thank you for your visit, I hope you all have a nice weekend :)

I do for sure, I'm packing my suitcase, this afternoon I'm leaving to Tiets, tomorrow we will have there a Clubday, there will be I think 65 women who all will go crafting :)

Bye bye for now, see you all next time !!!

Brrrr...Baby It's Cold Outside...

...Another of my favourite sing-a-long songs, especially the one released by Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews, she's just so quirky and not at all who you would expect to duet with Tom.
But baby, it really is cold outside! The weather in Lancashire is cold, wet, windy and the nights are drawing in fast.
But it's always a sunshiny day over at the Sugar Bowl. Today there is a new challenge and as always, the Sweeties have made a gorgeous array of cards to provide you with a little inspiration.
There is a sketch to follow and an optional theme, which for this challenge is 'Clean and Simple'.

I love all styles of card making but I do have a soft spot for the CAS style, most probably because I'm useless when it comes to using embellishments on my own cards..I never quite know where to stick them :)

Maria's pretty Christmas card uses the Sassy image Tammy. This stamp is perfect for the weather up in Scotland...I believe there has been snow in the Highlands already?

Jelly Pip is the image on Fiona's card. Fi has gone all out CAS keeping her card mainly white which in turn really makes the image pop. Fabulous card Fiona.

And last but not least, Cathy has used Old Saint Nick for her CAS card. I think this monochromatic Christmas card is stunning.

You can see all the other Sweeties cards over at the Sugar Bowl, along with the sketch, and the challenge is open for a fortnight so that's plenty of time for everyone to get inky and join in the fun.

Tomorrow will be Astrid's turn to post on here, so don't forget to call back and see her gorgeous creation.

Thanks for looking
Love Elaine xx

Melissa

Sometimes we need some cards,
to  show some sympathy.
To give comfort in a rough time.
This is such a card,
a card filled with warmth, care and sympathy.

Thats why it is in delicate, soft colors and embellish.

And Melissa from Sugar Nellie is perfect for this card!
She is so adorable, and i do think it looks like she finds comfort in the little flower ♥
You can get Melissa from the Funkykits store,
and she is a digi stamp, so you can get you`re sugar fix right away ;)

I have colored Melissa with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.

A cross,
And the text ; "Thinking of you"

Papers from 3ndypapirs new christmas collection!
I think the colors are so soft and delicate :)
And they aren`t that typical christmas ;)

I made an easel card this time,
with a gorgeous text from NSS;
"Sometimes it is easyer to put love in hugs than in words"
Or something like that ;)
My english spelling isn`t that good *giggle*

Have a fab Wednesday!
And take care ♥
Hugs from Maya

A Little Birdie Told Me....

Hello, Jenn here! It's my turn to share a card with you all. I had planned on sharing a Christmas card I was going to make with one of the cute stamps from Sugar Nellie's September release, but unfortunately my kids and I were in a car accident and although we weren't hurt seriously, my neck was hurting me quite a bit this weekend, which is usually my color time!

Luckily I had this cute all colored up and made into a card. This is A Little Birdie Told Me.... and you can find her here at Funky Kits along with the rest of the Gorgeous Girls (luv em!). I used some October Afternoon papers and colored the sweet girl to match with my Copics. Like Vicky mentioned yesterday, I also mat all the DP I use, and typically pop the main image up some. Some go-to embellies and it's done! I love all the cards other people make using the gorgeous flowers out there, but I'm happy with my simpler ones too!

Thanks for looking, I hope you all find some craft time this week!

WOODLAND FAIRY........

Morning all.....!

It's Vicky here today and I have the great pleasure to showcase a beautiful  Home Grown Manga....

This wee beauty was first released last year and I must say she is one of my favourites.
I have kept her very simple to show you how gorgeous she is...

and as you see I have done some matting and layering to show you
the gorgeous Nitwit papers I have used too. I always matt my papers on
matching card to "lift" the papers and I also "raise" the image onto foam pads....

and the colouring medium I have used on her are Spectrum Noirs, Prisma Pencils for shading and some chalks too....especially for a cheeks...

and finally the the "stuff" I used to to create the bow is Scrim....yep it's plaster scrim
what builders use...! It's so cheap, flexible and you can buy it in any good DIY stores...or what I do I "borrow" from my lovely, and patient hubby Steve...lol.....

Well I hope you likey....and for more details please pop over to my blog here...
and I know for the next month my teamie's will be showcasing
some more of these gorgeous stamps....

have a lovely day.....and I hope the weather is being kind like it has been over the
weekend.......

big hugs Vicky xx
