It's All Change - Well Simon Said To Alter It!!

I have always loved looking at altered art on other peoples blogs, but it's something I've never had a go at myself, so when I saw in advance that The Stampman were going to have a Altered challenge I thought it was the perfect time to have a go!
So my weapon of choice was this,
it's a cutlery tray from a discount store. Why I couldn't have started with a wooden spoon I don't know :o)
I sanded and painted with black acrylic paint, then sprayed inside and out with purples and orange glimmer mists. It's the first time I've persevered with the glimmer mists and I'm now a convert!
Now came the small task of filling it - again why not a wooden spoon!!.
So I made some atc's, microscope slides, and then my new Alteration dies landed with a thud on my mat, so these were used immediately :o) on Coredinations card, and sanded.
The inks are a mixture of distress and dye, and a wee bit of embossing has gone on as well.
It's by far the most adventurous thing I've ever made. I'm officially the slowest crafter in the world, and this has taken me days  weeks, but I've really enjoyed watching it come together. Though as my DH says 'What are you going to do with it??'  Men!!
The stamps are by Artistic Outpost and Cherry Pie.
The images are by Itkupilli and Moonlight Journey
I'm entering this for Stampman's Altered challenge
Lot's to Do - Alter it
Sunday Stampers - Paint it Black
Simon Says Stamp and Show Sanded/Distress.
Theme Thursday - Dark Gothic/Halloween
Thanks very much for looking - I'm going to tidy up the conservatory now 'cos it looks like we've been burgled (again!!)

Roses Are Red

Here is my entry to the Sunday Postcard Art challenge which is Roses this week.
The stamps are all Paper Artsy, and have been embossed with a mixture of clear and white embossing powders (yup I tipped the white into the wrong pot lol) it gives quite a nice vintagey finish and I quite like it.
The handsome guy in the corner has been stamped onto a piece of memory glass. This has been in my stash for soooo long, I thought it was time to dig it out.
The prima flowers have been UTEE'd (I'm loving the melting pot, definately a good buy). The flower er rose :o) is one of Sir Tim's alterations dies, some Co-ordination's, and an embossing folder.
I realise I'm still suffering from a bad case of 'I really should have stopped 2 embelisments ago', but hey....:o)

Thanks very much for looking and have a great weekend x

Theme Thursday - Flourishes

Here is my entry to the lovely challenge at Theme Thursday which is 'flourishes'
The sea stamp is by My Sentiments Exactly, together with the seahorse which I have used for the shrink plastic dangly.
The large flourish is by Creative Expressions, and the smaller stamps used are by Basic Grey.
The core'dinations card has been cuttlebugged and sanded, then very lightly brayered with the same big and juicy inkpad that the main image had been stamped in.
I think this is the first time that I've made a card from this stamp. It's a lovely stamp but I've never been able to transfer it to a card. I think that the Cuttlebug will solve this type of problem, and I really like the way it works with core'dination's.
Thanks very much for looking x

Theme Thursday On Er Friday

Better late than never, here's my entry to this weeks Theme Thursday which is 'Music and/or Dance'
This is one of my very favourite stamps, from Just For Fun. Her dress has been coloured with Prisma's, and her face and arms with Pro Markers. I got the Skin Tone set from Silly Monkey Crafts, and I love them, they are so smooth and I shall certainly be adding to my collection.
The background is Coredinations which has been Cuttlebugged and sanded. So simple but I think it looks really effective.
The tiny embelishment in top right is a ballet shoe stamp on shrink plastic.
I tried to keep it nice and simple, and I'm quite pleased with the result - have I finally realised that less is more - doubt it :0).
Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend xx
