Happy 13th Birthday Allsorts

My card today has been made to join in the current challenge over on the Allsorts Blog. They are celebrating their 13th Birthday this week, so are asking for your cards to be about Birthdays. My ready box is quite empty at the moment so this was a good excuse to make a card to add to it. I've used Two Red Robins the For Mum collection for the decoupage and a My Craft Studio Collection for the backing paper, I've then teamed it all up with a burgundy card stock and a Sue Wilson Birthday Die cut in the same card stock.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

April Rudolph Days

Nearly the end of April already and time again for the Rudolph Days Challenge. I was lucky enough to go to a Craft Show at Farnbough at the end of February, before social distancing began. I saw the die and stamp that I have used for this card on a very similar card on one of the stalls there. The die is from Precious Marieke and called Winter Flowers and the Stamp was from Nellie Snellen stamps called Deer In The Forest. I started by cutting out my frames 4 in silver mirri card and 4 in gold mirri card I then cut out 8 pieces of white card the same size as the frame. Then using a stamp press I stamped with black ink all 8 pieces the same. I then took some double sided sticky sheets and again cut them to the same size as the frames and stuck one side to the stamped image. I then removed the other side of the double sided sticky sheet and placed the frame over the top then covered the whole topper in irridescent clear glitter, this then gives the whole scene a frosty/misty look. To finish I used an A5 white card base and a sentiment die from Sue Wilson. They were really quite easy to make. As normal Maureen has got a wonderful prize for one lucky person to be picked at random. So do go and take a look at the inspiration for you this month and even join in with the fun, you can start your stash for this coming December or add to one you have already started.

Butterfly Challenge

Another pink card from me today, so should I say French Rose. This is one of the colours in the Butterfly Challenge this time around. This was the nearest that I could come to French Rose and Flax. I've also added a floral topper that I made using the Crafters Companion  Gemini Foil press and one of the new background plates that  they bought out not long ago, it was foiled onto white card then I added distress inks over the top. The butterfly die that I used was also from Crafters Companion while the Best Wishes is a Sue Wilson die.

Rudolph Days September

I can't believe that we are at the end of September, I've just returned from Cornwall where despite having awful weather to drive down in we had the most glorious week. We went with my Daughter Son-in-law and grandson and managed the beach most days. I even managed to get sun burnt. Anyway enough of that, as it's the end of September it's time for the Rudolph Days challenge which I'm just going to have time to enter this month. I prepared these two cards before going away knowing that I would not have time to make them when I got back. Both cards are made using Heartfelt Creations Merry and Bright collection and the Poinsettia stamp die and flower mould. The sentiment dies are from the Sue Wilson collection for this Christmas.

The stamped and die cut images were either coloured with Pencils or with distress inks and mini blenders.

Playing With Brushos

My card today is my entry into this weeks Pixies Snippets Playground, which I'm rather late for. The background is the result of playing with some Brushos and water colour card before I went away. While I was looking around wondering what to make I spotted it sitting on my very small workspace and decided that I would make a card with it. I can't remember what colours it was I used and I did go around the edges with some distress ink in a matching colour too. The Happy Birthday sentiment and the matting came from my scrap box as well as the white card I used to die cut the flower. The Happy Birthday is a Sue Wilson die, but the flower I've had for quite a while but no longer have the packaging and can't remember who it was from. I cut two of each size of the flowers and then taking one of each size, I distressed with Peacock Feathers distress ink. I then layered and added a gem to the centre.

Rudolph Days

Time for the Rudolph Day Challenge again and I'm glad to say that I have managed another batch of Christmas Cards to tuck away till later in the year. This time I reached for the CD's and came up with these two different designs. The card base's are 6x6 and I will admit to only printing off 1 A4 sheet of backing paper for each design and using it across 4 cards.

I love the traditional colours of Christmas so went for these as the card base's, putting the green card base with the image that has the red border. And the red card base with the image that has the green border.

I've used gold card for the matting of the image and also the die cut embellishments, both of these are from Sue Wilson. I've also managed to keep everything flat, thinking about the postage cost helped with this.

The CD used is Joanna Sheen's Hollypondhill, there are lots of wonderful images on this for Christmas.

Charisma Roses

I've spent a lovely peaceful afternoon on my own crafting and playing with some new dies and new CD that I bought a couple of weeks ago from Create and Craft. It was from the Charisma Range from Tattered Lace, which was released last year, when I managed to resist buying them. However just after Christmas I caved in and bought some. Now pink is not a colour that I would normally go for but I loved the colour of the these roses. So after a rummage through my stash I found some pink card and pink glitter paper too. I teamed them up with some silver mirri card, the corners and the sentiment came out of some off cuts I had in a scraps box. I used dies from Marianne for the corners and Sue Wilson for the Happy Birthday. The roses were printed onto some matt photo paper and then cut out with the Tattered lace die. I used glue gel for the layers after giving them a bit of a shape with a ball tool.

Tomorrow I'm off to my first Craft Show of the year. It's just a small one at Newbury Racecourse, but I know I'll bump into some crafty friends there too.

Happy Birthday Mum

It's been a while since I last blogged, but hopefully we are now straighter (after all of the alterations and decorating), I should be getting back to normal. Well that is until we start looking after our gorgeous Grandson two days a week from February, when my daughter returns to work. I also had a small operation on my back last week, which I'm glad to say has healed very well. Anyway onto my card today which is for my Mum's birthday today. I've used The Janet Kruskamp Collection CD from Joanna Sheen for the 8x8 decoupage card, using gold mirror card for the matting. The die cut doily is from tonic, the happy birthday from Sue Wilson, the fern from Tattered Lace and the flowers are from a die that I have had so long that I can't remember who's it was. I would like to enter this into the CD Sunday challenge this week which is Wild Flowers.

Pick of the Batch

I made a serious start on my Christmas cards at the end of last week. Then earlier this week I happened to pop onto Sarn's blog and saw she was taking part in a challenge on Scrappy Mo's blog called Rudolph Days. This is not a challenge that I normally take part in (because I'm not that organised), however as they were nearly finished I though why not. So 24 cards later I've picked out 2 to show you toady. I've used Crafters Companion Paintbox Poppets Winter Collection CD for both of these, toppers teamed with backing papers from the CD. Silver mirri card for the matting and sentiment die cuts, these were from All Occasion Dies and Tattered Lace. The snow flake corners are from a Sue Wilson die as well as the poinsettia. This was cut out of white card and glittered afterwards.

I would like to thank those of you who mentioned my FIL in the last post. I'm glad to say that after a slow start he's beginning to make a recovery and is now on a normal ward. He's also moaning a bit which has got to be a good sign.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.
