I always say Terengganu has the best prawns. They certainly too. These 3 prawns you see weigh about 1 kg. The picture doesn't justify the weight of it. It's definitely very yummy. All went down my tummy food. :P

Wonderful Friday
The day of course started very ordinary. Just your typical Friday. However, I managed to go through about 2500 emails and I think that's really good progress. Anyway, it all started when Heng Kai decided to meet up for dinner sure. So much for having dinner at 7 p.m which ended up at 8.45 p.m.
I can't really blame anyone since traffic was crazy and it poured before that and it was a Friday night. Load of plans changed within 30 minutes but it turned out fine. Anyway, the restaurant was called Ong Lai.
There were a few surprises. We had 2 addition guest, Kevin and Syn-In(now that was REALLY a surprise) came along. Of course, the more the merrier and the more food we could eat. Dinner was in Jalan Raja Laut near Hotel Wilayah and food was yummy. The O Chien was super yummy. Long time I haven't eaten that.
During dinner, I had a mysterious phone call from this girl. The restaurant was a bit noisy. So, I was like who in the world is calling me. This PJ number. Speak of the devil, it was Charlotte. She was back for a short meeting back in KL. Where can like this one.
So after dinner, we headed off to Murni which to be honest, I haven't seen a mamak like that before. It stretched up to 100 metres along the shop lots. And it was PACKED. Seriously. You couldn't even find a space. I was gob-smacked indeed. Anyway, we talked and chatted but it was definitely great to see her again. Actually, it wasn't long we saw her I think.
p/s: Will get a picture from Spinzer soon.

Heavenly Thai
Oh man, it was one of the best thai food I tasted. I mean food was really good. Presentation was great. Service still need to improve. But hey, since they just opened less than one month, they have out done themselves. It is located in Palm Square in the newly opened business centre in Jaya One along Jalan Universiti.
I'm so full now. So yum yum la. All I can say. :D
Will take pictures next time.

Melaka Day 2
So day 2 obviously started more with food. We were expecting Vicki from Singapore to come up and we headed for Chicken Rice Ball again. Yay!!! Well, I wanted to meet Vicki's boyfriend, Augustine but he had to leave early back for Australia.
So after lunch, we walked around for sightseeing. I can tell you I was on the verge of melting. I didn't know Melaka could be a furnace!!! I was a tour guide for Vicki and explaining the history of Melaka since the Portuguese and Dutch and British and how we gained independence. Oh man, I didn't know I still remember so much history since it was like 6 years ago.
And this was dinner of course, Ikan Bakar!!! Though I have to say, the restaurant was located somewhere really somewhere la. :P

Indian Thursday
Wow. So Indian today. Overdose of Indian food for lunch. But I like it. Banana leaf with sotong curry, chicken rendang, friend fish and more fried sotong. All so yummy. Though the only thing is that the rice makes you really sleepy. That's because of the extra starch. Basmati is the way. :P

The Truth With Teas
- UPDATED: Since this topic is quite hangat I will try to find the great rules for all teas :P -
Okay. Here are the 4 great rules of tea.
Rule Number 1
Lipton tea i.e. Malaysian tea only goes with condensed milk i.e. susu pekat manis. And nothing else.
Rule Number 2
English breakfast tea only goes with milk and sugar. And nothing else.
Rule Number 3
Earl Grey only goes with lemon. Of course sugar for added sweetness. And nothing else.
Rule Number 4
Green tea only goes black. And I mean BLACK!!! Those with green tea with strawberry are just a disgrace!!!
If all are not followed, you are a traitor to the tea community!!! Hehe. Tea rocks!!!

Shopping Saturday
Eh? Since when I started shopping. Ah ha. Well, 1-Utama today was quite quiet. I guessed it's the Christmas holidays and everyone is out of town. I definitely got a few things. Firstly, I got a pair of shades. YES!!! Finally, I got a pair of shades. I have been searching for a few for the past months and finally, I decided to get a low range one to try it out first.

As I always complained that I need to wear contacts for sunglasses, this pair was not too bad and it was quite reasonable. To be honest, I was looking at the Tag Hauer outdoor. Wahhhhhh. Super cool but aiya, don't want to spend like that.
Then I got a pair of trousers and shirt from Billabong. It was on sale and I know I can't resist a good one. And that's about it. Hehehe. Easy and relaxing one.
Dinner was again at the PJ Hilton japanese buffet to welcome Natasha back from the UK. Makan lor. Hehehe. How not to lose weight. :(

Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant
So, as promised this is the review of the restaurant, Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant. It seems to be the perfect day to eat steamboat when Malaysia was facing the wrath of Mother Nature for at least 2 hours. You all should know that it has been flooding everywhere lah. Anyway, a good nice hot pot would do the trick of raising people body's temperature.
Food was reasonable fresh. The key of a good restaurant is fresh when you are doing seafood. I just hate it when my prawn, crab and especially fish which a certain mud smell and being told that it was fresh and from the sea. Though whoever do that to me or to my family, we will certainly boycott that restaurant forever.
Anyhow, they had a variety of seafood and all were good. We had salmon ball, giant clams, red snapper, scallops, abalone, mussels and vegetable. Even the prawns were basically jumping. So yum yum.
Here are a few pictures taken. But errrrrr, I keep forgetting to take pictures la. So hungry then. I would go back for sure to even eat more.

Selamat Hari Haji
Obviously, I don't celebrate this but I gotta love the food around this time. With people burning lemang and making rendang along the road side, it's just soooooooo good. Not going to complain about that.
As usual, it's a public holiday here and I went with my dad to the temple. But I saw so many cute bunnies. Sorry no pictures but man, I'm going to tangkap pictures of them. Okay la. I don't have an intention to cook them okay Siew Ping. Hahahahaha. Though, I think there is satay rabbit in Kajang wor.
But I will be going to makan in Patrick Teo's steamboat place. So, will be making a post on them.

LARD ALERT!!!
OH MY GOD!!! I just ate the worst tan tart ever. It's a store in a kopitiam in MPPJ. Never in my life I had to make a comment like this. I was practically eating LARD!!! How can anyone in the world like it and say, 'YA MAN, IT'S THE BEST!' He or she must be the fattest person in the world or relative to a pig.
The after taste of the tart was so bad you can die one okay. You can feel your arteries clogging up too. It's like I have drunk a litre of lard. I think that's enough pork for me this year. SERIOUS!!!
On the side note, all the restaurants today are so fully booked. I can't get a reservation and it's a nightmare. I suppose it's the weekend and the school holidays. Everyone wants to eat eat eat. Just like me. :P

Crabsified
As the title says it all. Makan so much crab sampai I want to become a crab!!! Sorry about no pictures but I ran out of the house because I couldn't resist it. Really wanted to take pictures. Oh well, there is always round 2 in about 2 weeks time. ;)
We had marmite crab, salted egg crab, kan heong lala, fried sotong, guiness stout pork and tang hoon. All super duper yummy and cheap. Can't ask for more.

Food and More Food
Hmmmmmmm. These days so expensive to makan in KL or PJ. Either, the quality goes down or it's more pricey than ever. What happened to a cup of milo for 60 cents. Now, it's like 1.60 and those Madam Kwan's or Little Penang is like RM 5!!! How la to survive in KL if you are making RM 2000-2800 a month.
Anyhow, just had like yong tau foo with char siew, siew yuk and kai for brunch. Then a big helping of porridge with duck, salted egg, preserved vegetable, salted fish and pig's intestines. Yummy yummy.
Then headed off to BSC to find a watch from my brother-in-law and along the way for me. The irony is that I don't wear a watch one. Hehehe. Why wear one when you have a handphone!!! :P But I was quite keen with a few but that will be considered. Not really wanting expensive gifts. To be honest, I haven't gotten anything expensive other than my laptop and camera. Other than that, I have nothing. See, so modest kan. Hehehe.
Visiting my aunt in PJ also was funny. Makan pisang goreng was dead on. The batter was good and panas from the wok. Sedap!!! Hehehe. She's the best. Hehe.
So, after this off for crab. Okay la. I have to admit Ihave am eating like a pig. Hahaha.

Korean Korean
An yang sae yo!!! Hahaha. Well, I love Korean food. Ever since my mom left for the UK leaving my father and I here without food, we searched and hunted for good food around Hartamas. Mana tau we found this Korean food which was soooooo good that even our neighbours love it and it's their weekly routine to go there.
See. Am I good or what. :P
Anyhow, we had a set of port meal and octopus. It was yummy. Though the only bad thing about this is that you get smoked to death. Lol. You have to shower again if you had shower again. Off I go then for a short shower, then some Heroes. Yatta!!!
Good night.

Ketupat Kraving
Since Raya is around the corner, I think I would like to start off with a bit of ketupat. Well, more like nasi impit. I have always liked Raya. The best food come out like rendang and lemang. How not to die for it. Well, I will be back for Raya this time and no one is going to stop me from eating for at least 2 weeks of a feast. My all time favourite is still satay with proper peanut sauce.
Even I'm drooling now!!!

Sago Melaka
First Malaysian desert I made. Yum yum. Basically, I was craving for gula melaka. So, since I had a bunch of it(from Thailand), I just said, 'Aiya, just make this la'
Overall, it was okay. But I think I might have used too much egg white. Oh well. It seems fine without the santan. Need to cut down on my cholesterol. However, sugar intake may be not. It just makes me hyper. :)

Fish Pie
Once again, this is my first attempt in making a pie. Fish pie. I have always liked fish and hey, why not try something. The fish pie has cod and salmon in it though it's not in the recipe. I followed Rick Stein's. It turned out to be quite nice. I reckon of squeezing a lemon juice would give it a nice tangy taste. I always like mine slightly tangy. All in all, it took me about 3 1/2 hours to prepare this and hmmmmmmm. Will only do it for big parties now. Hahahaha.

Macaroni and Cheese
Yea yea. You can just go to Sainsbury's and Tesco's to get the microwaveable one but I think I would try to make it my own first. Apparently, it's the best and easiest thing to cook in America. I wouldn't say it's that fast but it's quite yummy if you want to clog your arteries. I used cheddar in this recipe but they said to use parmesan too. However, parmesan is so expensive. We are talking 17 pounds for 1 kg!!! SIAO I TELL YOU!!!

Yummy Sunday
Well, as usual, Sunday is a time for dim sum. So, my sister and I headed down to Baker Street Royal China. Unfortunately, we wanted to go for their specials i.e. deep fried squid. But when we arrived, it was just packed with people. That was about 12.30 p.m. So, from now on we will be there by 12 p.m. Need to be kiasu with my food. Don't want to wait for so long.
As for dinner, I cooked taufu in soup. Kinda the vicious thick eggy liquid and turkey ginger and spring onions. Ahhhhhhhh. It seems that everything was delicious and the consistency was right.
Cheers people.
