Had a fun weekend this week, of which we spent a night at

That place is like a private parking place for yatch for all the nearby condominium residents. However, they also have some cool places like, Prive Bakery and Pub and TCC by the Bay.
We went there cuz of Jing Xiang 23rd birthday chalet, we took 2 cars out for a spin. =))

reminiscing

reminiscing. When I reached the age of 19, I went to work for an organization for 2 and a half years. It was and it is the best working experience that I have ever had. After my training in an institute, I went into this company. Although this company is relatively further as compared to the rest of the company, there are more classmates of my batch in this company too. So in my head I was thinking, 'why not'.
Shortly after I enter this company, I was being appointed the admin executive in a department to handle my fellow counterparts HR matters and I am also the in-charge of the incoming and outgoing inventory for my department. And I got myself a new superior. As we all know, being in a company, there are several important factors that will affect our mood when working. As far as I am concerned, these factors include the amount of workload, colleagues, the working environment and the company culture.
culture & workload. The company culture is quite tense and the top management is usually strict with the rules and regulations. There are many rules in this company and everyone is tensed with these rules implemented when the new management took over the company.
The workload is very heavy and everyday we've tons of stuff to do and to handle. Our department is seriously short-handed so everyone of us have to multi-task and
prioritize the more important tasks at hand.
environment.In my department, the
cleanliness of the working environment is definitely not our priority. Everyday in the morning, as we enter our office, the whole place is filled with
rat shits. And I meant literally everywhere. On my desk, I find rat shits on the keyboard, monitor stand and our files and what not. The ceiling has holes that the rats bitten off in the night. The whole office stinks badly as the rats pee in the corners. Basically, you'll feel nauseous the moment you stepped into the office. With a slightly better observations, you can actually differentiate between the recent soft and spongy rat shits and the dried up rat shits. Those instant noodles packets and instant drinks packets have holes that are bitten off by the rats. We set up traps to catch the rats and I remember we catching 2-3 rats over the span of months.
superior.Classic. My direct superior is only a
PSLE graduate. Yes, he is a
PSLE graduate and his mindset is classical example of 'I eat rice more than you eat salt'. He is our in-charge of a 30-men department. When he first took over our department, he practically went through all the files and documents and requested to have hard copy and soft copy of ALL the inventory and HR files I've at hand. There are only two major concerns for him, 1) himself and 2) 'what if?'. There are many things I've to clarify and make him understand because our huge communication barrier. I'm not a retarded and I believe he is not too. Its just this communication barrier that hinder the work in our daily routine. In addition, he is inflexible to rules and the regulations thus it is not easy for us to prioritize because everything to him is equally important.
colleagues.I love my colleagues. They are the group of people I missed the MOST when I left the company. They're loyal, friendly, helpful and believes in teamwork. Although it is the typical 'one for all, all for one' mindset but that pull me through the 2.5 years in the organization. Oh
yar, and the food in the canteen. Superb.
Lol.
This 2.5 years in the organization made me stronger, much stronger. And I believe it has made you stronger too.

A great and fantastic news from Singapore team at Beijing Olympics!
Grats to Tao Li who broke the Asian records and being the 4th fastest in the qualifying round. To Singapore, its a fabulous feat to have such a performance in an international platform.
Other than Tao Li, we also have at badminton venue, the women's doubles pairing of Li Yujia and Jiang Yanmei overcame the American challenge of Eva Lee and Mesinee Mangkalakiri. Looking forward to Li Jia Wei game.
Who cares if some of them are foreigners or what not, I'm sure they chose Singapore to represent because they've found home and love being in our country. This is commendable of them and something we Singaporeans should feel proud!

Cheers to Team Singapore!

Hmm, I do have some wishes. Other than just wishing, I will work hard for them for the next one year.
1) Get Wibrosky going
2) Achieve decent grades for year 1 result and study well for year 2
3) Find a better job to suit my school schedule
4) '顺顺利利‘ for my family members and Jas dear
5) tio Singapore Big Sweep
However, nothing beats 平平安安 for the rest of the one year for my closed ones, be it my family member, my friends, anyone dear to me and Jas dear.
Already gotten presents from Jas and PSG. Thanks peeps! Looking forward to the whole week of celebration with you all.
