Oxford for the day
We headed to Oxford so that Alan could experience Carluccio's speciality "Bicerin" - a coffee, cream and chocolate extravaganza from Turin in Italy. It was as good as I remembered. Three jugs containing a shot of espresso coffee, double cream and thick warm chocolate sauce that you can mix and match to your taste.
Raring to go we now wandered around Oxford town centre and wended our way through three Blackwell bookstores.
A quick visit to the History of Science Museum across the road from the main Blackwell's store where I saw this gruesome set of surgical instruments that included an amputation saw, three amputation knives and two tourniquets.
Bikes laid against the railings, most of the centre of Oxford is car-free. You can get about on foot, by bus or by bike. Most students use bikes thought it's changed from the last time I was there. It used to be you just added your bike to a pile and when you left picked up the top bike off the pile even if it wasn't the one you arrived on. On this visit it seemed most bikes were locked to railings or bike racks.
Into the covered market where we came across a cake shop with some gorgeous wedding cakes - this Japanese themed one was one of my favourites.
A quick stop before heading off to pick up Tom from school (he had gone in to finish some coursework for one of his GCSE courses)

And because I finished the Flamenco Dancer I started a new project (well I didn't get a stitch in but added it to my rotation at least) but apart from that I didn't get much stitching in because of my sore shoulder
I think - with a goal to get this one to 25% before year end.
