A June Update

Mary Hurst - The Scarlet Letter

I have been spending less time with my needle due to other commitments but Mary and Martha and still progressing.

Martha Allis - The Scarlet Letter

Ray treated me to a wonderful few days away for a few weeks ago and we were utterly spoilt at The Cider House on the Buckland Abbey Estate.

The Cider House

On our way to Buckland we stopped at Cotehele and enjoyed viewing the house and immediate garden.

We plan to visit again when we are next in the general area. There is so much to see. If you are interested I have posted many internal photographs on my Facebook page.

Next visit was to Buckland Abbey itself. As we were staying on the estate we were able to enjoy the gardens before they opened.

It is home to a Rembrandt self portrait.

On the way home we visited Lanhydrock House.

You could spend several days here and still not absorb all there is to see. Well worth a visit.

We have taken advantage of the lovely weather we have had in Cornwall to get out and about as much as we can.

Last week we visited Mount St Michael.

This weekend we were at Killerton House in Devon.

Followed by a visit to Trelissick with Sue and Kathryn yesterday.

There is no place like home though.
