It's been raining all day, so we've had a lazy day. When Steve got home from school I had just got out of the shower, Beck was sleeping and Tess was coloring. So he plops down on the couch and turns on ESPN to unwind. When I come down the stairs I instantly smell nail polish. To my great shock I look over and Tess is painting her nails while sitting on my couch....and there he sits...watching ESPN as if nothing was going on. I say "Really Steve?" He looks at me and says "What?" Then looks at Tessa and starts laughing. His comments "I thought it was something you were doing upstairs." Me, "and you didn't bother to look to see why she was so quiet?" Steve just smiles. "She really could have been painting the couch and the walls and I wouldn't have noticed" he says. My reply, "really?" So amid our conversation Tess thought she was in trouble and starts to cry. We assured her that she wasn't in trouble (dad was) and that it was ok for her to paint her nails, just not on the couch. So we set her up with a towel on the floor and she continued her mani/pedi. But, come on REALLY babe?!!

Sportscenter + Cheetos = disaster! The good news is that if she would have stained the furniture, it wasn't on your watch. And, great job, Tess, the nails are beautiful!
I am reading this for the second time with Phil, it was too good to not share with him. We were just discussing how we miss you guys, and wish you were around!
LOL! That's so Steve. I love it! I am impressed with Tessa's paint job though...and that you let her do it. I won't let Liv because I know half of her room would be covered in nail polish by the time she was done.
Ha ha that is funny. When Jake plays Xbox I think he forgets who I am. He acts like he is listening to me and everything but I think he is really thinking "who is this woman in my house and why is she talking to me?" ha ha that is really funny, though! Never good when the kid is quiet, something is up!
I want Tess to paint my nails! What a great paint job! Reading your blog I could have easily mistaken Steve for Cody! Now I am aware of the inevitable!
I would have died! Actually Nick would have died. And it's so something that he would do. ESPN or sports in general is hypnotic to men. I swear this March Madness. Too cute that you let Tess paint her nails though.
That is so funny. For Dan its not sports its cars - magazines and on the computer. I could totally see this happening...if we had girls.

SO i am totally blog stalking you and died of laughter when I read this:) Daniel is always watching ESPN as well and its amazing our children live! Such cute kids, where are you going back to school? I am wanting to do the same and currently in the process. Your hubby gave a great talk on Sunday as well!
