MFT February 2017 Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown. For the next 5 days, we're counting down to the February 2017 release, sharing cards and ideas using the new products.

Today's card used the new Birdhouses Die-namics (this months free with $60) along with the new Denim stamp to create a textured background.
To create the background, I added ink to a white cardstock panel and then I spritzed the entire stamp with water. The more water you add, the more saturated your cardstock will become and it my blur the detail from the stamp. Because Distress ink reacts with water, the stamp design (covered with water) lifts the colour off the cardstock and leaves you with the detail of the stamp.

Once I had the background done, I diecut the little birdhouses 3 times each from white cardstock and layered them on top of one another. I then diecut them from wood paper and added that as the top layer to make them look more realistic.

This is the card I created for this week's episode of MFTv so if you want to see how I created it, you can check it out on the MFT YouTube channel. ;)

Thanks so much for joining me for day 1 of the February release countdown. All of the new products that we're sharing all week will officially be available in the MFT online store at 9pm EST tonight!

MFT February 2017 Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown. For the next 5 days, we're counting down to the February 2017 release, sharing cards and ideas using the new products.

If you are a wine lover, you are going to love all of the great products being revealed today! For my card I used the new Wine Service and Cheers Die-namics to create my scene.
I die cut the wine bottle, label, cork and two glasses from white cardstock and then I masked off the areas that I didn't want to have ink. I added Aged Mahogany Distress Inks to the bottle and glasses to mimic red wine and then I added some water to distress them.

I used grey ink for the label and the cork and distressed them with water as well. To create the background panel I used Peacock Feathers Distress ink and then I cut the panel out with the largest Wonky Rectangles Die-namics.

To create the sentiment, I diecut the word Cheers 4 times from white cardstock and then layered them on top of one another with liquid adhesive to give it more dimension. I adhered all of diecut pieces onto the panel and then I added it to a Grout Gray card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for day 2 of the February release countdown. All of the new products that we're sharing all week will officially be available in the MFT online store at 9pm EST on February 7, 2017.

MFT February 2017 Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown. For the next 5 days, we're counting down to the February 2017 release, sharing cards and ideas using the new products.

For today's card, I used the new Farm Friends stamp set to create a simple design with the adorable cow image and the fun sentiment that goes with him. ;)

To create my panel, I added blue and green distress inks to a white cardstock panel with an ink blending tool and then I spritzed on some water for a more textured look. This is a go-to technique on almost every card I create lately lol! ;)

Once the panel was dry I trimmed it down and added it to a card base with a strip of black and white striped patterned paper and silver sparkle cardstock.

I diecut 2 banners shapes from white and grey cardstock, stamped the sentiment onto the white one, and then I stapled them onto the bottom right of the card. I then stamped, coloured and diecut the adorable cow image and added him on with foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for joining me for day 3 of the February release countdown. All of the new products that we're sharing all week will officially be available in the MFT online store at 9pm EST on February 7, 2017.

MFT February 2017 Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things February release countdown. For the next 5 days, we're counting down to the February 2017 release, sharing cards and ideas using the new products.

For today's card, I used the awesome new Space Explorer stamp set (and coordinating dies) to create a cute little space scene.

I started off by diecutting a circle from a piece of masking paper and then I adhered the negative piece of the masking paper onto a piece of white cardstock. I used an ink blending tool and various colours of Distress Inks and added colour to the inside area of the circle.

I started with my lighter colours first and then slowly built up the darker colours on top until I had it nice and dark with different shades of colour. Before I removed the mask, I watered down some white acrylic paint and then I splattered it on top to give the look of stars.

I stamped, coloured and diecut one of the adorable little astronauts from the stamp set and adhered him over the inked circle with foam adhesive for some added dimension. I stamped the sentiment below him with black ink and then I matted the panel onto a piece of Lavender Fields cardstock before adding it to a Stone Gray card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for day 4 of the February release countdown. All of the new products that we're sharing all week will officially be available in the MFT online store at 9pm EST on February 7, 2017.
