Skiing with the Kiddos!

Over New Year's we stayed up near Brian Head in Utah and took the kids skiing for a day.  I was unsure how it was going to turn out.  Afraid Collin would be crying and fall to the ground screaming that it was too cold, or that he couldn't do it.  Same fear with Mackenzie!  So I braced myself to be frustrated and have to give up.  Boy did they surprise us!  They loved it and were quite good!  That was one of the funnest days with the kids.
This kid was crazy!  He wanted to go fast as possible, and he was good!  Tyson was pretty much holding him back the whole day!

I stayed with Mackenzie for the day and she was so good too, but not crazy.  I had the harness hooked to her, but hardly needed it.  She figured out 'french fries' and 'pizza' really quick and did awesome!

It was such a treat to get to spend the day with my daughter teaching her to ski!
At the end of the day, we had to drag them off the slopes and they were begging to go back!

Check Out Our New Wheels!

We all got some sort of new wheels for Christmas, all except Tyson.  He got excluded in this I guess.  We certainly have had fun trying them all out!
The Kids' New Ride's:

Ridin' in Style!

My New Ride:
...and adventure...Rustler's Loop!  One of the easiest mountain bike trails around, but it certainly was a challenge for me!  I have been wanting to mountain bike for so long, so I'm finally getting my chance!  It was amazing (amazingly hard too)!!!  Can't wait to go again!

Cruising above the Colorado River!

My trainer, Kellene, and me.  Thank you so so much for such a fun time!!

Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas!  (So I'm a little behind, but determined to catch up!)
This Christmas season was super hectic for me.  We just had so much going on with parties, and visitors, and skiing (sounds rough huh?) that Christmas shopping took the back burner for a while, until it was nearly too late.  I vow never to do that to myself again!!!  But as it always turns out Christmas was wonderful and we quite enjoyed it!

First thing - off to find the perfect Christmas tree on December 5th (the latest I've ever waited)!
Up the hill...

...and searching...

We stopped searching and played in the snow, while Tyson went to work and cut a 40' tree down for our 10' ceilings. :) I have to say the tree was absolutely gorgeous, but so full of sap that I was screaming at it for days decorating it.  It's beauty wasn't going to fool me again...an articifial tree has been ordered for next year!!!  I've had it!

It was a super fun day playing in the snow with the kids, but no final pics of the tree, no pics of us sledding afterwards, no pics of it decorated (I have bad memories of it and it's sap anyways), no pics of our house decorated, or of Christmas morning.  Don't ask me what happened to me and my camera obsession during the month.  I'm so disappointed!  I think I was seriously just too exhausted to think about it, especially Christmas morning!

Skiing Keystone

The debate....to go skiing with the Nielsen's or go cut a Christmas tree since is was already the first week of December and we still had Fall decor up.  Well it was a tough decision!  But we headed out skiing, and it we had a good time as always!
While the guys went night skiing in 20 degree weather, Julie and I hit the Outlets at Silverthorne and actually didn't break the bank this time! Good times!

Next day, we all hit the slopes in very frigid weather, somewhere around 20 for a high!  As usual the guys left us for their crazy runs and we took the easy ride all day.

That night we took the gondola up to the Alpenglow Stube Restaurant to enjoy our 4-course dinner.  The restaurant sits at 11, 444 ft - highest Four-Diamond restaurant in North America.  It was fun, and maybe a bit fancy for us rowdy hooligans.  I don't dare share the picture of Julie posing with the rolls - she was out of control!

Good times!
