One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?” “It was great, Dad.” “Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked. “Oh yeah,” said the son. “So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father. The son answered: “I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. “We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. “We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. “We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.” The boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.” Money is never gonna be evryting... and being rich is subjective...

today is a must-blog day... coz its de best day since thutmose gathering months n months ago at sentosa... ok so tchers' day celebrations in sch was kinda lame... quite unorganised n boring... but im glad all de tchers liked our class' presents...so after dat went baq to HC to see a couple of tchers but most of them went for tchers' day lunch le so onli saw chee wee, yap hui boon, cheryl wong n lily chai... lolz for a moment cheryl wong thot i was j2 ahaha... ok so noting eventful in the staff rm other than hearing dat nancy tay is quite sick n is on 3 wks MC (ms yap told me dat)
k so i went over to college to mit wee kian and guodan for our 2D outing... turn out some haf sec 4 class outing so our numbers diminished by quite some bit... in de end jelli n seet pangseh-ed so left me, wee kian, jonneo, guodan, sijie(joined us after visiting his pri sch), weiming, huihua n shan rui... travelled to plaza sing to haf lunch n dats whr i met kangting and aloysius and 2 AJ Odac seniors whom i forgotten their names lolz...
after lunch we walked arnd in PS den saw DOMINIC and REBECCA HONG eating ice cream at gelare... den i saw stefanie wid her sec sch mates (i suppose dey r...) after dat we left PS n walked to cathay den saw ZHOU PAOPAO n his scandal partner sitting outside cathay chatting... (so dat confirms de scandal rite?) ahaha den we sat in a row rite opposite dem xtra n so managed to make dem leave (lolz damn bad...) loitered arnd for a while den wanted to go to paradiz ctr to play pool budden de pool place close down liao... so we went baq to mit my NP'07 batch ppl... den all de 2D ppl zao liao except me, jonneo n huihua...
coz we bought tix for a 5.30pm movie n it was onli 3 we went to de basement area to sit and w8... den junwen n her fren appeared... maybe i saw her foto recently so was able to recognise her budden linky n marcus n jonneo cant recognise her at all lolz... coz she kinda wear until veh ah-lian... den she went to call dora out den we kinda talked for sometime b4 dey left...
den de few of us - me, marcus, linky, jiahan, chuan khim, quek, jonneo n huihua - stoned dere play psp, hp games, wadeva until 530 lidat den went up to watch
movie finished at 730 n den we went to eat dinner at kopitiam down de road... on de way met some ang-mohs trying to wait for a traffic light to cross de road budden din notice dat traffic light not in service for certain times in de day... lolz we were kind enuf to tell dem haha n dey realised finally y it took so long for it to turn green...
den after dat during dinner jonneo n huihua joined us again... sat for quite long de de kopitiam coz all of us baq to playing psp n other games while waiting for huihua to finish his food... den after dat we went home lor... den at douby xchange met jon quek (not de one above... another one from AJ... my OGL) den we chatted for a while den saw shaun too wid his frens... den i went home!
dat concludes a super uber loooong day... n its realli nice to hang out wid diff ppl for a change! although ny ppl r oso nice to hang out wid lolz... n met loads of ppl be coincidence!! i counted 15 leh... somehow left out 2 ppl in de blogpost... nvm will try to rmb...

Another nice story i found...5 more minutes
While at the park one day, a woman sat down next to a man on a bench near a playground.
“That’s my son over there,” she said, pointing to a little boy in a red sweater who was gliding down the slide.
“He’s a fine looking boy” the man said. “That’s my daughter on the bike in the white dress.”
Then, looking at his watch, he called to his daughter. “What do you say we go, Melissa?”
Melissa pleaded, “Just five more minutes, Dad. Please? Just five more minutes.”
The man nodded and Melissa continued to ride her bike to her heart’s content. Minutes passed and the father stood and called again to his daughter. “Time to go now?”
Again Melissa pleaded, “Five more minutes, Dad. Just five more minutes.”
The man smiled and said, “OK.”
“My, you certainly are a patient father,” the woman responded.
The man smiled and then said, “Her older brother Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I’d give anything for just five more minutes with him. I’ve vowed not to make the same mistake with Melissa.
She thinks she has five more minutes to ride her bike. The truth is, I get Five more minutes to watch her play.”
Now think... IT'S JUST 5 MORE MINUTES...

ok... promos are getting closer... at present i haf 3 more topics for maths, 5 more for physics, 3 for geog and 4 for econs... i haf 26 days left... cool i can make it sia... finally caught up with my work lolz... tuition is much more effective than school... maybe i sud juz home-study instead lolz... budden dats so 宅男... lyk no frens at all... ok... i shall bear wid my tchers for all my frens haha...

nice story i found while surfing...A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.
"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special - Don't ever forget it!

wah i pro nearly fall asleep during 1-on-1 tuition...another week ends... another week closer to promos... 30 days left... 9+1 more maths topics, 6 more physics, 5 more econs n 5 more geog... dats lyk 1+ day per topic lar... die sia...
i sud focus on physics or maths... coz i will nid a B in promos from 1 of dem to promote... if not... r****n...

phew... tuition is tiring sia... so much to digest... so lil time...the past week was filled wid disappointment... i failed maths coz i subbed in wrong number...
n i almost certainly failed physics coz i juz cant rmb wad to do for a 10 mark qn... to realise it was juz simple sec sch stuff after de test...
congrats to team singapore for making the final n ensuring our 1st olympic medal in 48 years... the whole sch was watching lar... evryone got glued to the tvs dat no one went for lessons... so many ppl were watching dat u cud hear the "ooohs" n the "ahhhs" throughout the sch evry time a pnt was won or lost... how cool's dat... evryone's juz so excited by our medal hope...
night study was effective i guess... i managed to study 2 topics in de 2 nites i stayed... more nite study sessions coming up in the next few weeks... until i finish promos...
ok back to watching olympics!!

if u havent noticed... de picts r frm de preview... i din go for de actual day one hehe...but preview sky much clearer... cant even see much clouds so i tink dat was better den de actual day...lolz after watching fireworks n eating dinner me n marcus stood at city hall mrt to c hu we can mit... in de end i met 9 ppl i knew n he onli managed one... summre is i notice one lolz...
sch reopens tmr... spent de past 2 days watching olympics... Tao Li got 5th in 100m butterfly final... i tink dats realli gd le rite? comparing her to her other taller, bigger opponents...
phelps is ownage lar... so far he won all he taken part in...

WR draft 2 dateline tmr... out of my 3 gruopmates, 1 is missing in US, n 1 juz broke his ankle 2 days ago... n we havent even started editting... GOOD JOB TAISOON!!! actualli... its all my fault... hu ask me dun do earli? hu ask me mug for maths n still fail? hu ask me so lousy cant solo it? n juz when im abt to discuss wid de onli member left, my comp gave up... it crashed... it took me 2 hours to revive it n now its too late to finish evryting... die lor... ask for extention lor... wad can i do? im juz 1 guy... some ppl muz realise Hwachong duzzen equal GOD... i tink i realli sud haf kept a low profile at NY... so mani ppl out dere r out to get me... juz bcoz of my background... dey lyk to c someone fall... especially one frm so-called top schools... cant believe it... even ppl so close to me... w8ting for me to crash n burn... den dey will laugh... F***... i muz do well for promos sia... cannot lose to foreign2D outing a.k.a send kalun off at airport was fun... its been a long time since we had an outing lidat... de last time was when we got Os results... haha we made a pact to haf a gathering evry 2 years... at least dats much more feasible den a monthly gathering... so de nxt few outing wud be after A lvls, after NS, 2nd year of Uni, graduation from Uni or 1st yr of working for some of us... cool... seems lyk our education system planned by de govt works well for our pact... de nxt time we see kalun wud prolly be nxt yr when he comes back for holidays(if he even does come baq) or 3 yrs later...
3rd 2D-ian to leave Singapore for overseas... 4th if u count 1D-ian in... 1st wud be Liu Ji hu left for Xi An in Sec 1, nxt Yi Zhuang to Beijing 2 years back, den Yuk Choi for Hong Kong end of last year... now Ka Lun is in L.A. Wah we can form 2DInternational... with bases in Hong Kong, China and USA!
dat led us to guessing whos gonna be nxt while we were on de way to Bishan... however we cudden guess hu... so shall juz w8 n c...
OLYMPICS IN 2 DAYS!!! but im nt watching much... mid-years is 47 days away(according to NYTV)... oh did i mention im home alone? ahha evryone else went to my sis's hse coz nida clean-up... n i stayed to mug... its nt nice staying home alone on a 7th month nite... but compared to sleeping at clock tower alone last year? diz is noting man...
