Shabby Chic #11

Hi and welcome to my blog! I have always loved this sweet stamp from Stampa Rosa. I found this imge in my stash that had been smooshed with silver and gold metallics, but they brushed off! I wiped off all the silver and gold and used some metallic rub ons instead to make subtle colors on the image. This time the colors stayed on.

I cut out the image using the Spellbinders small oval die, the leaves are from a Memory Box die - Fresh Foliage, and the frame is from the Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Bits and Bobs #21

Hi and welcome to another bits and bobs day. Today I found my stack of rub ons that I have not used in ages! They always add nice detail to a project. I found this die cut in a bag and decided to put my rub on on it. Aren't these pretty rub ons from K & Co?

This is how it came out when I finished rubbing it.

I layered this piece on an embossed green background. The bird from Inkadinakdo had been stamped with black ink onto orange card stock and fussy cut. I added rhinestones that came with the rub ons and also added a black cord bow.

Dig through some of your stuff and you may find some fun items that you have not used on your cards in a long time. Have fun!

Bits and Bobs #16

Hi! It is time for another bits and bobs card! I have a huge bag of rub ons that I have not used in ages. I pulled them out and while I had them out I made three cards with them. Rub ons are a great way to add flair to your card. On the first card I started with two different sheets of rub ons, but the sheet on the left must have been too old and it would not transfer. I wanted to use the music script. So I ended up using several of the rub ons on the sheet at the right.

The rub ons on this card are the swirls and two small butterflies at the top. After applying the rub ons I ran the card through an embossing folder. I found an oval piece of painted chipboard in my stash and stamped an old butterfly stamp on it. I added flowers and a ribbon scrap to make the bow. I don't think I have ever made a green and red card except for a Christmas card! This is why I like to make bits and bobs cards because you really don't go in with a plan and just try to match things as you go along, pulling things from your stash. You never really know how a card will turn out.

I have a hard time making simple cards because my thought is the "more the better!" Lol!  But I think this card came together pretty well. The flowers are rub ons. I found the cat in my image stash that I had already stamped on orange paper, so I pop dotted him to the card. Then I stamped a very old saying I have had for years.

Here is my last card. The circles are rub ons. I also found the typewriter in my image stash. I fussy cut it and pop dotted it on the card. Kids these days probably don't even know what a typewriter is. I got a portable one when I was in high school and I took it with me to college and used it a lot! Those were the days. Really old school!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my bits and bobs cards today. If you have any rub ons, pull them out and see what you can create with them. I had a lot of fun with mine.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Fall Tag

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am so glad to be having cooler weather and seeing some color on the trees now. I want to show you a Fall tag I made using several of Tim Holtz's techniques. You can see them by clicking here.

First I used some of Tim Holtz's rub ons on my card -- a script and some swirls.
Then I patted Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves and Tea Dye Distress inks on my craft pad, spritzed them with water and drug my tag through the inks to make my background. I sponged some Gathered Twigs Distress inks around the tag for more of a distressed look.

I stamped the pumpkin stack, by Sparkle N Sprinkle, onto watercolor paper and colored the pumpkins using Distress markers and my water pen. The image was fussy cut and pop dotted to the tag. I added leaf brads and sequins for embellishment.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Altered Dies #9

Hi Everyone! I have another altered die card to show you today. You might remember that I showed this card a few months ago. I entered it into some challenges then, but today I want to show you how I altered the die on it.

I started with this Cheery Lynn Lattice Valance die and cut off each end.

I added Sparkle N Sprinkle's  Blackened Bronze embossing powder to it and turned it upside down to make it look like the top of an iron gate!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how the gate was made using this valance die. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Flower Garden

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are enjoying your day. I made a card with a stamp that I have not used in awhile. It is the Colonial Spring stamp from Impression Obsession K1006. I stamped it on glossy card stock using Jet Black Staz On ink. Then I used Rub On's to color the scene.  I added yellow and red flower soft to the flowers. Part of the Cheery Lynn Lattice Valance Border die was used at the bottom of the card. I used Blackened Bronze embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle to make it look like an iron gate.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Up and Away

Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your day. It is very hot and humid outside today so I am staying in where it is cool! I want to show you a tag I made using a hot air balloon. If you have never been up in one you need to try it sometime. It is an awesome experience. I went on a fall day and we were cruising right along over the beautiful treetops!

I made the background by dropping reinkers on a hard sponge and swiping the sponge on the tag vertically and horizontally. I then spritzed the background with water a little to make the colors run.

I used a Tim Holtz script rub on and another design rub on and adhered an Idea-ology gear to it. The balloon was stamped on a Spellbinders die using Distress Faded Jeans ink. I used a water brush to move the color around a little.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

12 Tags of 2014 -- September

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good day. I want to share the tag I made for a few challenges. I was inspired by Tim Holtz's tag he made for September. You can see his tag here.

We were to use our imagination a bit more as you can see that Tim has butterflies as "hair" on his lady. I used 2 leaf dies to make butterflies. Black Diamond Stickles was used on the flower's center. I used Tim's Bubble stencil for the background, used blending solution and then swiped the tag through Aqua alcohol ink. I added some of Tim's Element rub ons and washi tape numbers. The sunflower, by Sparkle N Sprinkle, was colored using Distress Markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope your day is fabulous! God bless!

Sparkle N Sprinkle July Sketch Challenge

Hi Everyone! I hope you will join us for the Sparkle N Sprinkle sketch challenge this month. The challenge is "Anything but a Card." If you use a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp you will receive a free digital stamp. You will also be eligible to win a stamp set of your choice! I was rummaging through some of my stuff and came across some coffee bags that someone had given me years ago. I decided to decorate the front and use this for a gift bag. It is lined with plastic, so it would be great to give specialty coffees or teas in it or anything else. I have had fun playing with rub ons lately, so I have used them on this project. They are the swirl, leaves and red flower. I love birds, so I used my favorite stamp set called Bird Song. The Music Scrap stamp goes perfect with the birds. The butterfly is a silver charm that I colored using permanent markers. I used Mountain Mint velvet glitter on the eggs in the nest.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see your beautiful creations soon!
