Feelin Groovy with Artfully Sent

One of the things I love about being a papercrafter, is the ability to create fun items to go with any theme!  My boss picked up some tye-dye tablecloths for a party so I decided to use the same colors and theme to make a birthday card and banner to go with the tablecloth.

I had so much fun making these....and I'll tell you a little secret.... My coworker has the card on her counter and every time I walk by it, I still think it is so cute!!!  I don't think the picture does justice to the colors...

Happy New Year - CTMH National Papercrafting Month

Happy New Year!!  I am looking forward to 2015 and lots of fun with Close To My Heart!  In February I am going on the Close To My Heart incentive trip to Disney Aulani thanks to my buddy Bren, I'm hosting another fun retreat at Rabbit Hill Ranch in March, planning to teach at the 2015 Scrappin Escapes retreats and we're headed to Disneyland in July for our annual convention.  Whew...so much fun already in the works.

In order to get started on the right foot, I spent almost two weeks in December organizing my stamp room, planning projects, cutting kits, writing blog posts and scheduling facebook updates so I can guarantee I have a ton to share with you!!

Let's get started with...National Papercrafting Month!!

When you make a qualifying purchase of $50 you can purchase the Year >> Noted kit for only $5.  The kit includes printed papers and cardstock and a stamp set.  For just $5 more you can add the My Creations kraft mini album.

The package is designed to help you put together a "time capsule" scrapbook.  You can keep track of your goals, accomplishments, adventures and highlights throughout the year.  Then "seal" up your book with the large gold seal, pack it away and open it in the future....

Tips and Ideas
  • You can write on the gold foil stickers with a permanent pen!
  • You receive a piece of blue and peach cardstock in the kit.  Cut flowers and embellishments out on your cricut to use throughout your book.
  • Remember to save room for the photos you will be adding!

I love it when two fun specials combine so that we can get even more goodies!!!

When you order $50 or more in October you will receive a FREE roll of Chevron Ribbon.  It will be a surprise...they will add either a Cranberry or an Outdoor Denim roll when they ship your order.

And since you're already ordering $50, then why not add the adorable Home for the Holidays Stamp Set for just $5?!?!

So head on over to my website and get started on your order today.  Please remember that the while supplies last items do not count towards the $50 order.  They are still a great deal though!!

Valentine Treat Tube

Here's another project featuring D1560 Holiday Tags.  The labels can be cut with the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge, which makes it quick and easy to whip up a bunch of tags.
.

I cut the cranberry tag from page 37 of the Art Philosophy cartridge

And then cut the white tag 1/4 inch larger using Pg 50.  The wholes didn't line up perfectly so I just re-punched them.

Valentine Countdown featuring cuts from CTMH Cricut Cartridges

Every once in a while I design a project that I love, love, love... and this is one of them.  I wish my picture could do it justice!!!  I used the Designed Decor frame from Close to My Heart

I love this frame.  It's quick and easy to switch it out for different holidays.  Just wait until you see what I have planned for St. Patrick's day!!

I created the countdown with some quick and easy cuts from all three of our Cricut cartridges.

  • Art Philosophy - fry boxes, lacy hearts
  • Artiste - labels on the boxes
  • Artbooking - heart swag
The tags are created with one of my new favorite sets - D1560 Holiday Tags.  (I have several posts lined up featuring this set so if its not on your wish list yet....I think it will be soon!!)

One of the best things about being a papercrafter and owning a Cricut, is the ability to create something to go with any theme.  The theme for our holiday potluck this year is Reindeer.  I was given the task to design reindeer chinese boxes. I checked out Pinterest and Google for some inspiration and looked for images on the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and came up with this.....

CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Project - Vinyl on Cups

I held a scrapbook retreat for my customers at Rabbit Hill Ranch back in June and I still have projects and updates to post about it.

This was one of my favorites!

Forgive the crazy photo...we had to hold up a black hoodie to make a makeshift backdrop in order to get the cups to show up in the picture. LOL.  We forgot to take a picture before a few of the cups went home.

I like to put little goodies out on the tables throughout the weekend so I kind of collect things in the weeks and months leading up to the retreat.  Thanks to my buddy Candace, I was able to pick up these acrylic tumblers.

I had planned to put a cute tag or something on them and then at the last minute I had a brainstorm....

Why not cut their names on the cricut with the Art Philosophy cartridge and personalize them??

So I enlisted the help of my husband and we quickly put the names on the night before the retreat.  I still had plenty of vinyl leftover so I turned it into a vinyl lesson at the retreat and let my customers cut out the design of their choice to add to their cups.

They turned out so cute and it ended up being a fun project!  So fun that I will be helping the girls at church to decorate their water bottles for camp tomorrow night.

CTMH May SOTM Blog Hop - Friendship Bouquet

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month (SOTM) blog hop!  You may be starting here...or hopping over from Traci's Blog.  Either way works!  Once you're done, click the link at end of my post to continue your journey through inspiration.

This month we are featuring Friendship Bouquet (set of 8).  I absolutely loved sitting down to create with this set.  Only one problem.. all I wanted to do was color the images!!  I stamped up several sunflowers and then kept coloring them with different color combinations.  It was very relaxing...until I thought... "Oh no!  I have to have a completed project to post!" LOL

Since we're still running our amazing Dotty For You Special, I thought I'd experiment with some non-traditional colors.  If they can dye flowers to go with prom dresses and weddings, why not make them match our paper?

Design Tips:

  • Instead of stamping your image in the middle of your paper, try moving it over to a corner, leaving room for a saying, to add visual interest.
  • Add depth to your image by outlining it with a soft grey marker (Grey Flannel)
  • Use a blending marker to pick up ink and create a lighter shade (center of flower)

This one is a little bit more traditional....

Now it's time to hop on over to Krista's Blog for more ideas!

**Combine the Stamp of the Month with Dotty for You for double your fun!**
I am working hard to sell 100 Dotty for You/May Stamp of the Month's (any combination of the two to equal 100 or  more) so that I can qualify for a drawing for a FREE workshop for 20 people from Close To My Heart.  Help me with my goal and earn free gifts!  Everyone who places a qualifying order will be entered into a drawing.  Throughout the month I will be including extra little goodies with orders, giving away fun samples and much more... so head on over to my website and order right away!

Super Mario Party Layouts

My customer, Jeanne, brought some adorable photos from her Grandson's Super Mario party to scrapbook last Friday.  As soon as I saw the colors, I knew we had to use the Superhero paper packet.  I had so much fun helping her create these layouts that I begged her to let me post pictures on my blog.  I think they turned out so adorable.

Jeanne is doing a 9x9 birthday album for each of her grandchildren and she wanted to add more interest to her layouts this month so we pulled out the Imagine How-To Book.  Since her pages are smaller, I told her to ignore how many photos were pictured on the sample pages and just look at page layouts that she liked.  We had to adjust the measurements by 75%, but mostly we just kind of eyeballed it.  If something was 3 x 12, we made it 2 x 9.

I think they turned out GREAT.  What do you think?

Glass Etching with CTMH Art Philosophy

This was so much fun!  I was completely addicted to it for a couple of weeks around Christmas, but I couldn't say anything because I didn't want to spoil the surprise.

The hardest part of the whole project was....finding etching cream!  I ended up having to order it online from walmart.com.

Glass Etching Cream, 22 Ounces

I'll try to write up a tutorial later, but here are a few little tips...

Supplies needed:
Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge (ok, you can use something else, but why?)
Vinyl or Contact Paper
Transfer Tape
Etching Cream
Pyrex Glass Dish (I bought these at walmart too)

Tips:
Pick images that are fairly simple with large open areas.
It's easier to work with a flat surface for your first piece.
You have to place each letter separately when working on a curved surface.
I used a wide popsicle stick to spread the cream.  You can also scrape the excess off and put it back in the jar.
Do not spread the cream too thick...it will drip!!
Do no get it on your hands!! It's acid!  Be careful!!!

Sorry my pictures are so bad.  It was really hard to photograph these.

This picture might spoil a surprise, but it shows how I placed the vinyl letters on the plate.  You might want to add some masking tape or more vinyl to the glass areas around the letters to give you more room when spreading the etching cream so that you don't accidentally etch the open areas.
