If you came from the incredibly creative and talented Lee Ann Barrett's blog , I know you were blown away by her creations. If you didn't and would like to see the blog hop from the very beginning, here's the link to the Technique Junkies Blog.

One of my most favorite stamp from this release is "Side Hat".  I stamped her in red dye ink and she pairs perfectly with "Audacity", don't you think?  There is also a matching stencil from "A Colorful Life" Stencils.  How cool is that?

What a fun stamp "Screaming Calories" is.  This is one of those stamps that should be in everyone's collection.  A card made with this stamp will lighten and brighten anyone's day. I did some masking and sponging to achieve the "spotlight" effect.  The piggy was colored with Copic Markers.

"City Watercolor" is a fabulous stamp.  Incredibly versatile and fun to play with.  I used Ken Oliver Color Burst pigment powders from the "earthtone" collection to create my background.  I also subtly inked, in black dye ink, the fabulous "Cloud Lattice" stencil from "A Colorful Life" in the background.  The "stars" were added with the gold Glitter Marker from Nuvo from the "Ember Glo" collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you found some inspiration here.

Your next stop on the hop is the blog of another incredibly talented member of the design team, Stephanie Severin.  Her creations will blow you away!

Don't forget the 15% discount on the new stamps and use my 10% discount on all other purchase of stamps you'd like.

MARCH 2018 NEW RELEASE TECHNIQUE JUNKIES BLOG HOP

Hello Junkies!!!  A new month equals a new stamp release from Technique Junkies Stamps and a design team blog hop to show them off!

If you came from the blog of very talented Lee Ann, you're in the right place.  If not, and you'd like to follow the hop in order, start HERE at the beginning.

I think you'll love this release....and from what I've seen of the creations from the design team, you're going to be blown away.

Now....just to let you know, if you see some stamps from this release that you love (and you will), you can purchase them and receive a 15% discount from today until March 8th.  That's the deadline.  Treat yourself to some - or all - of these fabulous stamps and get that 15% discount.  You don't have to do anything, the discount will be applied to your cart.

While you're shopping, if you see other stamps (from previous releases) or the Color Burst Pigment Powders, that you'd like to add to your collection, use my discount code TJ10Cheri and get all of them for 10% discount (you will have to add that in the "code" area upon check out).

The background for this awesome image "Fly" was created using Color Burst Pigment Powders  by Ken Oliver, from the Caribbean Brights collection.  The embossed circles are impressions of stacked circle dies.

The stamp I used here is "Faith, Family Farming" .  I'm very partial to farms, as I live on farm land that once belonged to my husbands grandparents.  The image was colored with Chamelon Colortone Pencils.  The bg panel was created by dragging a gray ink over the panel and when that was dry I dragged a white pigment ink over it again until I was satisfied with the result.

I was in a silly mood when I created this card...that cat...he cracks me up.  He's "Birthday Cat" and I wanted to pair him with this sentiment from "Wisdom of OZ"...I giggled the entire time I was creating this card.  The bg is Distress Oxide Inks, mixed with water and dropped in drops and blown through a straw to disperse over the panel.

I hope you enjoyed these cards and found some inspiration.  Now, I'll send you over to the incredibly talented Stephanie.  You will love what you see there.

Don't forget...discount15% on all March 2018 Stamps until March 8th, and 10% off your entire order of all other stamps - as well as all the Color Burst Pigment Powders - if you add my code to your order.

Do you love Technique Junkies Stamps?  Would you love a discount when you purchase them?  Psssst.....I can get you 10% off your entire order if you just use my discount code at check out TJ10Cheri....try it.  It works!

So, I was out shopping the other day and ran across this gift bag that made me laugh out loud...it looked so much like one of my favorite Technique Junkie Stamps, "Your Kind of Crazy".  from the August 2017 release, I just had to buy it.  OMGeee...is this not the cutest gift bag???

I could not wait to get my stamp out and create a card from this inspiration bag....

This card was so much fun to create and I just had to share it here.  The image was stamped with a light grey dye ink and I used my Chameleon Color Tone Pencils to color the ostrich.  I drew in some longer eyelashes and used my white gel pen to highlight the eyes a bit more.  The white "pearls" and "crowns" were drawn on with my Posca white pen.  I had some feathers in my stash so I cut a tiny slit in at the base of each crown and stuck them inside.  I had some colored dew drops so added them at the base of the feathers.  The final touch was to doodle around the image (as it is on the bag), mount in against a darker die cut and mount it to the background layer.  I used a star stencil on the bg layer and sponged white pigment ink into the negative areas to create the bg.

That's my post!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you found some inspiration or better...a giggle!

Your price - $23.95!!!!
If you order before February 8th you'll get an automatic 15% discount off that bundle price!

If you came from the incredibly talented Lee Ann's blog, you are in the right place and correct order for our hop.  Her creations were fabulous, don't you think?  If you didn't arrive from Lee Ann's blog, and want to see the blog hop in order, start at The Technique Junkies Blog.

I have created 3 cards to show off some of these new stamps.

First is this beauty, "Something Different".  A stamp that literally stands alone if you'd like it to.  I wanted to give it a bright background so I used Distress Oxide Inks (Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry) and water on water color paper.  For highlights I used Nova Glitter Marker in silver, which leaves a lovely luminous effect.

I think of all the sets released this month this one "Keep Chickens" is my favorite.  The faces on these birds crack me up and I smiled the entire time was was creating with them.  (I'll have more cards to post in the future).  I colored these with Copic Markers.

My final card features two stamps, "Why Fit In" (love it) and "Stone Wall".  The giraffe is wearing goggles, which I think is a cute element on this stamp.  My stonewall is multi-layers for texture and effect.  I stamped it twice, colored and inked it with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone) and Copic Markers.  I fussy cut various areas of the "stones" and adhered them haphazardly over the first layer.  I loved the texture it created here.

Now, head on over to the super talented Stephanie's blog so she can show you her incredible creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy the hop and don't forget to take advantage of the 15% off discount for the new stamps you see in this hop.

And don't forget, for all other stamps you might like to purchase, please use my code for a 10% discount.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy the hop!

ANOTHER HOLLY BIRD CHRISTMAS

Hi there Junkies,

I hope you're all not tired of seeing Christmas cards yet...I love this stamp "Holly Bird"  (from the September 2017 release) and I just wanted to color him with PrismaColor Pencils on kraft cs and see how he'd turn out, and I really like it. What do you think?

The sentiment is "Merry Christmas 2" , one of my faves because of the font and the size.  After coloring the bird, ribbon and holly with the PrismaColor Pencils, I added "snow" with my white gell pen in the background as well as on some of the berries and leaves.  The sentiment was heat embossed with white ep.

Good news!  The Featured challenge "Gradient Sponging" has been extended through January.  You've got more time now to play along with this challenge and win some TJ Stamps.  You can check out the details HERE and join in on the fun!

I don't know how much longer the 35% off sale will last, but it's still going on for a select number of Technique Junkies Stamps.  Here's a great opportunity to grab some of these stamps at an awesome discount.

Want a 10% discount on any other stamps from the store, please use my code and enjoy your purchase.

JULY 2017 NEW STAMP RELEASE FOR TECHNIQUE JUNKIES

Extra, extra.....it's blog hop time for a new July stamp release from Technique Junkies stamps!!!  All the new released stamps will be available at a 15% off discount until JULY 8.

If you came from the uber talented Lanette's blog, you're in the right place.  That lady is loaded with talent, isn't she?  If you stopped by and didn't see the beginning of the hop, you can start it HERE.

It's nearly time for the great American celebration of Independence Day on July 4th, and the official opening of summer!  This set  "Watermelon Summer" is fabulous...loaded with space for coloring or embellishing any way you want.  The technique I used to achieve the look here was watercoloring Distress Inks on kraft cs and enhancing the color with Copic Markers.

I had a watercolor paper scrap that I had used to play with my Color Burst powerders.  It had been sitting around for a few weeks and when I saw this new "Palm Collage", I thought I'd use the scrap as a background for it. Stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white ep.  I combined it with the new sentiment "When the Sky Touches the Sea"  which was heat embossed on vellum in black ep.

What a fabulous stamp "Part of the Dance" is.  I think the sentiment is so uplifting and sends a positive message...and easy stamp to use in so many instances.  The bg was created by blowing the watercolor drops through a straw.

Another fabulous stamp being released this month is "Perspective".  I can relate so well to this sentiment and I love the image that accompanies it.  I hand drew an "awing" over the top of the swing to ground it.  I added some Washi tape to "top" the awing.  The background was made with a paper napkin.

I have a coupon for you if you'd like to get a 10% discount on all TJ stamps (excluding the July release stamps).  Just use it at check out and enjoy your purchase.

MAY 2017 NEW STAMP RELEASE FOR TECHNIQUE JUNKIES

Hey there, Junkies....what an exciting hop we have for you this month.  Not only do we have new stamps to show off, we are welcoming 3 new designers to the design team; Giovana Smith, Vicki G and Chris Dayton.  Welcome ladies, we're thrilled you're part of our team.

If you came here from the the incredibly talented Lanette Erickson's blog you're in the right place.  Didn't you love her work?  If you didn't get here through Lanette's blog, you may want to go to the beginning of the hop so you don't miss all the goodness.

And...if you like the stamps you see in this release, head on over to the Technique Junkies store and pick them all up.  Pat is offering a generous 15% off all the May Release Stamps -  but only until May 8.   BUT WAIT....THERE'S MORE...you can also grab yourself a set of the Chameleon Color Tones Pencils with the same 15% discount (expires May 8).  These are so much fun to color with and this is a fabulous discount.

So, here we go....

Here are some cards I created with some of the new stamps.

Aren't these bicycles adorable?  They are from the "Bicycles Set of 4" set.  I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils (I didn't have my Chameleon Color Tones yet) and built the "scene" with Copic Markers.  Also used is the sentiment, "Beautiful Ride".

Isn't this an amazing stamp?  It's called  "Last Breath" .  I stamped it on watercolor paper using Distress Inks then used a aqua pen to pull the ink from the stamping.  I wanted a vintage/distressed look. I used more Distress Inks on the aqua brush to color the flag after first drying the background layer.

This stamp, "Big Dreams" is sure to be a big seller...don't you absolutely LOVE that face?  I colored her with Copic Markers and sponged the bg with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

My last card uses "It's a Guy Thing" and a portion of (the sentiment) the "Hats Off to Dad" stamp.  I stamped the image in Candied Apple Distress Ink, added some thin black lines on the outside of reach wide red stripe with my Copic liner pens to accent them more.  I then paper pieced the tie with some older Authentique paper I had.  The "Thanks" is from my old lable maker.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today and don't forget about the 15% discount on all the new May stamps and the Chameleon Color Tones pencils...good until May 8th.  (get them before they're gone!) There's no code to enter...the discount is automatic at check out.

TECHNIQUE STRIPS AND PULLED COLOR

Hello Junkies!

A while back, I posted a card I created using the "Pulled Color" techqnique from August/September 2012 Technique Junkies Newsletter.  I'm combining that technique with another one called "Technique Strips" from the June/July 2012 Newsletter here.
I loved the idea of the "Technique Strips" tutorial because it's an opportunity to use up some scraps or pieces of technique experiments that didn't come out just right. It's an opportunity to create something new from the leftovers or rejects.  (Those rejects happen to me a lot!)

The strips in this card were those rejects from my "Pulled Color" experiments from my March 7 blog post.  I'm glad I didn't chuck them out...I do that sometimes and then I wished I hadn't.

The stamp "Growing Wild" is one I've used before.  I love it's versatility.  You can grab this stamp and any other's you'd like from the TJ store, (excluding clearance and Distress Oxide Inks/Reinkers) and get 10% off by using the code TJ10Cheri at checkout.

And there's more!  All of the APRIL RELEASE stamps are available at 15% off until April 8.  No code needed for that, it's automatically applied at checkout.

Technique Junkies has a new FaceBook Page too.  Please come on over and join us. We'd love to have you join the chatter and show off your creations.

So glad you stopped by today and I hope you try these techniques and then post them on our FB page.

Here's to an inky day!

DAY 29 OF 30 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS AT TECHNIQUE JUNKIES

Hello everyone!!!!

There's still one more day to get that 25% off all the awesome Christmas stamps that Technique Junkies has in their store, grab them while you can and enjoy the discount!

It's been 30 days full of inspiration and creativity by the TJDT and I've enjoyed each and every one.

For my last post during this event, I have some bookmarks to show you and a card.

This is a front and back shot of the bookmarks.  I used some coordinating scrap pieces of design paper to cover the backs.  The stamps I used for the bookmarks is SS029 "Christmas Words" set of 4 stamps.  The technique to create them is the easy white embossed image and sponging Distress Inks over the image to create a resist. Adding some water splatters to the sponged ink gave them a "vintage" look.  I like these as card inserts for Christmas cards to special friends.

The face on this puppy just cracks me up.  Another easy card.  The background was splattered with white acrylic paint and once dry, I sprayed with some glimmer spray. I stamped "Ho, Ho, Ho Dog" on 80# white cardstock with Archival black ink using my Misti.  In order to get a good coverage, I stamped it 3 times...I wanted him to pop right off the cs.  I made a mask and covered him while I sponged a bg with Distress Ink.  I again splattered some water and soaked it up with paper towels then heat dried it.  I decided to add some "snow" to match the red bg, so I took my white pen and dotted it in the bg.  I used Copics to color his scarf and paper pieced his hat with some red glittery paper.  To frame him, I used MFT stitched arch Stax.  As a final touch, I added some sequins to the bg and some glossy accents to his nose and eyes.

There you have it!!!!  I hope I've inspired you and I hope you don't miss grabbing youself some of these fabulous stamps.

Cheers!

MORE 30 DAYS OF CHIRSTMAS FROM TECHNIQUE JUNKIES

Hey there, blog friends....have you been following the 30 Days of Christmas event over at the Technique Junkies blog?

There has been a daily post full of TJ Christmas stamps (which you can still purchase for 25% off your entire order) and techniques.

I wanted to show you two of those stamps in this post and my creations with them.

This card was super simple to create (you gotta love those).  Stamped with VersaMark, sprinkled with silver embossing powerder then heat set.  I then placed the panal in a embossing folder (Musical Flourishes from CuttleBug) and layered it on a accent layer then on the card base.  The stamp is "Peace on Earth Dove".

This card was another easy one.  The image was stamped on white cs, colored with copics and as I did with the other one, I embossed it with Swiss Dots ef.  I used a set of Spellbinder ovals to cut windows and the focal image and assembled the card.  I added some Glossy Accents to the berries, which gave them added demension.  This stamp is a wonderful CAS stamp.  It's called "Mistletoe".

Hard to believe that Christmas Day is only 19 days away....

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy your week!!!
