Fall Fun

Yesterday was my husband's birthday so I had a good "excuse" to stamp up a quick card.  I used the sketch from The Challenge which was fun to use with the stamps I picked out! Here's the sketch:

The stamps are from My Favorite Things (retired unfortunately).

As you can see, I turned the sketch on it's side.  I love the way the ties worked as the element of the flags!

And since this was a fun and quick sketch to use and I was loving this paper pad and the Fall colors, I decided to play along with the TCP Tuesday #324 challenge from The Cat's Pajamas!  The challenge was to use Fall colors.  I just received Sending Me in the mail (it's back in stock- yea!) and since I have picked up a few Copics in the last week or two I used the sweet bun-bun.

I did a little paper piecing on the mail bag to give it a bit of dimension but otherwise it's a pretty simple card.  I'm loving the neat wooden dots my friend Kate sent - they go perfectly I think!

Check out the sketch challenge and the TCP Tuesday challenge for a bit of inspiration yourself!
Happy Day!

Sending ...

Hello again! I'm on a little roll - I've made 5-6 cards in a week and I've enjoyed it so much! I really love getting back into stamping!

I used the TCP Tuesday challenge from The Cat's Pajamas for this card - use at least 3 patterned papers. I used 4, think I'll get bonus points? ;)

All the stamps and dies are from TCP - love the scrolly script, don't you?

I really need to replace my camera this week - the colors are SO much prettier IRL!

Stamps: Words of Love (The Cat's Pajamas), Dies: Square Stamps CutUps Dies, Sending CutUps Dies (The Cat's Pajamas, Embellishments: Button, Twine (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper: MME

I used one of my favorite sets for this release - Official Grinch!  I have to say that like a lot of us that have been TCP fans for a while it was Sprinkle and Poochie that were my first loves! Now, there are so many wonderful characters to love but I always get warm fuzzies when I see this pair! :)

Sprinkle just cracks me up here - you can just about see her eyes rolling back and hear the tone of her meow can't you?!  I love it!  Don't you love her fun "ugly sweater"?  It's such a fun way to use paper piecing!

I even decorated the inside of this one because I wanted to show you the new PopUp Pivot CutUps die and I wanted to add Poochie! :)  He gets his very own "ugly sweater" too!

It's time to hop on over to one of the Swanky Stampers who joined us for this release - Joyce Casaldi!  Be sure to visit The Cat's Pajamas once you're done with the hop - the new products are loaded and ready to go!!  Happy Shopping!

Sneaky Peek Day 2 - Home For All Seasons

Welcome to Day 2 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas!  You are in for a special treat my friends!  We have 7 new stamps sets, 4 new CutUps dies and 2 new Cutables!  Did you see yesterday's peek'd set?  I am so excited to see Sprinkle and Poochie back! ;)

Ok, today's set is Home For All Seasons and the matching CutUps dies available are called Village.  This set isn't just for Christmas (as it's name suggests) but can be used all year long and in so many ways.

I made a card today with the sentiment, "The Best Journey Takes You Home".  Many of you know that my family is in the process of adopting a little girl from China.  We are in the thick of gathering together the all important documents that will make up our dossier {the "packet" that will go to China requesting we be allowed to adopt}. We have not received our referral yet {been matched with our daughter- please pray for us if you think of it!} but once we are I can see myself using this sentiment to make a family photo album to send to her!! The is an amazing journey we are on, and in the end our sweet girl will be Home with her loving forever family - it makes my heart swell to think of it!  I think Alma wrote this sentiment for me! ;)

The Village CutUps dies makes these houses so fun and easy to use!  I also used several other CutUps, Heart Border, Fancy Flip Frames, and Framed Up 2.

Here are some details you need to know:

1. All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tuesday, November 30.

2. If you're IN IT TO WIN IT, visit the TCP Forum at Splitcoaststampers to comment and chat on the IN IT TO WIN IT thread every day for an opportunity to score some new TCP goodies.

TCP Release Day Blog Hop!

Hello friends! Welcome to the Release Day Blog Hop at The Cat's Pajamas!  We've had 7 days of Sneaky Peeks and the time has finally come for you to shop! Just in case you need to see these fabulous new sets again The Cat Pack is hoping today with all new projects!

But wait, there's more!  It's also TCP Tuesday - the day when we issue a challenge that you have 2 weeks to complete.  There's even a prize. Just link your projects on the TCP blog by Monday (10/13/14) at Midnight, EDT. Each project enters you for a chance to win some Cat Cash up to $15.  I'm the hostess for the challenge today and it's a color challenge, check out the palette below.

I used one of the newly released holidays sets, Joy to the World for my card today.  I also used the NEW Cutables file, Twisted Easel Card.  These Cutables are so easy to use! You can use them with your cutting machine (e.g., a Cameo) or you can use the .pdf to cut it out yourself.

Now I know these colors are your traditional holiday colors but I challenged myself give it a try and I think it turned out ok! This adorable new set not only features our favorite trio of penguins, but also has lots of beautiful sentiments.  I just {love} it!

You can see that I chose to stamp my main image on the base of the easel instead of the stand-up part.  I also stamped the penguins directly onto the dp since it was subtle.

I used the large Ornaments CutUps dies to add to the easel and embellished it with some super sparkly icicles made with the NEW Slime/Icicles CutUps die.

It's time for me to send you on your way . . . the next stop on the hop is Wendy and she has a fabulous project for you!!

Thanks for spending time with us this week - can't wait to see what you all create with your new TCP stamps, dies and cut files!

Sneaky Peek Week Day 5 - Brains!

Good morning!  It's Day 5 of Sneaky Peek Week at The Cat's Pajamas and our set today is Brains!  What a funny little character with some pretty cute sentiments!

For my project today I made a little gifty and matching card.  I loved the sentiment - "Time to Unwind"!  It's great for making a little treat for a friend who may be stressed and in need of some pampering (hey, that's sounds familiar! LOL!).

The matching card was made using the NEW Fancy Flip CutUps die - not only does it make easy flip cards, but turn it sideways and it makes the perfect Easel card!  How clever is Miss Meowy??!

I stamped the mummy and embossed it with white onto black cardstock (I purposely left a few specks of the embossing powder left around to give it a messy look).  Then I colored him in lightly with a white pencil.  I had some fun with the spiders and webs from yesterday's Vintage Halloween set!  The little banner was made using the Framed Up 2 CutUps die.

I got lovely bottle of bubble bath and wrapped it up with a couple of strips of cheese cloth, very mummy-like!  It just need a little tag made with the NEW Fancy Flip CutUps and Fancy Flip Frames CutUps dies.

Here are some details you need to know:

1. All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tuesday, September 30.

Sneaky Peek Day 4 - Vintage Halloween

Good morning and welcome to another fun day of Sneaky Peek Week with The Cat's Pajamas!  Have you seen lots of goodies that you need for your stash?  Today's set is called Vintage Halloween and it coordinates perfectly with the Framed Up CutUps dies.  I love this vintage look and there are so many fun stamps in this set!

I started by stamping my image over some vintage-y text paper using black ink, then I die cut the image using the Framed Up CutUps dies.  I used a sponge to add a bit of color to the image but nothing too fussy.

I used a new product that TCP will be carrying with this release, Stencil Blanks.  Basically you can use them with your CutUps dies to make your own stencils - that means a lot more uses for those dies!  I used the Dots CutUps die for my stencil. I then used the stencil and some white ink to create the white dots and when the stencil was still in place I stamped some black bats from the stamp set.
The final step was adding a row of the NEW The Birds CutUps dies which I covered with some Distressed Stickles.

Here are some details you need to know:

1. All the new stamps and dies will be released on Tuesday, September 30.

2. If you're IN IT TO WIN IT, visit the TCP Forum at Splitcoaststampers to comment and chat on the IN IT TO WIN IT thread every day for an opportunity to score some new TCP goodies.
