Happy Birthday & Congratulations!

Hello, I have a couple cards here that I made for my Girlfriend! The first is a card for her Nephew, it's his 30th Birthday, and he is currently in training to be a demolitions expert!
I used Timber Riley and altered him a bit. I masked off the blade of the chain saw, and drew in some jeans and a t-shirt. He's coloured with copics. I'm hoping the piece of the chainsaw that's left will pass as a hand held detonater! I made a tiny hole with a pin, put 2 wires through the hole and taped then onto the back. Then I wrapped the wired around a toothpick to get the coiled effect.

I then ran these wires to the back of the hanging circle with the '30' on it...they're stickers from the Teen Angst pad.
The card base is black, with a layer of mose mustard and then dp from the Teen Angst pad. It reminded me of an explosion!
This card is also for my Girlfriend to give to her Neice, who is currently in training to be a Flight Attendant! I took several pictures, but they kept making her looked washed out, so this is the best of them!

I struggled with this one at first, but I'm happy with the final outcome! I went with the Easel Card design.
This is a Hanna image, she's actually a Nurse, but I hope she can pass as a Flight Attendant checking her passenger list! I coloured her with copics. She cut out & matted with petite oval nesties.

The card base is night of navy, with a layer of dp from Basic Grey's Wander. The sentiment is from Hanna's Everday Sentiments. The oval & the sentiment are popped up!

I also added a plane made with an EK punch. I layered a navy plane onto a vanilla plane, it's slightly off set.
For the bottom inside part, there's a white piece for writing on, dp also from the Basic Grey wander pad, and a skyline made with a MS edge punch.

I added a plane to this piece too!

Last day of March Break...boohoo!
Have a Great Day!

Meghan's a Grade 8 Graduate!!!!

This is my Niece Meghan, we just arrived home from her Grade 8 Graduation! Doesn't she look beautiful! Where oh where does the time go? It seems like yesterday we were patiently waiting in the hospital for my Sister to give birth, and now she's off to high school!

She was so concerned about looking too girly, but I think she looks awesome! She has 2 medals hanging around her neck, way to go Meghan!!!!!
This is the card I made for her, I used the colours from her dress, or those that closely matched! The card base is black, with a layer of lavendar lace. I cut the hole with the Label #9 nestie. Both of these are sprayed with my new vanilla shimmer. It wasn't spraying very nicely, so there's some spots than I would have liked, I really expected it to be a fine spray. I wonder if maybe you shouldn't spray right after vigorously shaking!
Anyway the lavendar panel is popped up. I punched some swirls with the EK flourish punch. The flowers are white, punched with the SU 3 flower punch and I added little lavendar gems to the centers.
The image is Graduate Hanna, coloured with copics and popped up.
Have a Great Evening!

Hanna Stamps Sale

Hello, I received an email last night from Hanna Stamps letting everyone know that the store is open til the stamps are gone. If you've wanted some of these sets, now is the time to buy them most are $3.99!

I had some cards made that I haven't posted yet, so I figured I might as well post them now, as all these sets are still available. Just so you know, Kristi (owner of Hanna Stamps) did not ask me to do this, I just wanted to share.
The card above was made using the Mr. & Mrs Katz set, and the in spades spellbinders pendant and the top note die from SU.

This card was also made from the Mr. & Mrs Katz set. I also used the wood floor, which will be re-released at Riley and Company.

This card was made using the Waiting for Mr. Right set, and the In spades spellbinders pendant die. I also used some basic grey paper and covered the glass with crystal effects. The sentiment was computer generated.
This last card was made using the Karate Hanna and the Graffiti set. The background is dp from DCWV asian set, with a couple stamps on it. Hanna was coloured with copics, cut out and popped up.
Have a Great Day!

Karate Lauren's 9th Birthday!

Hello, this is the card I made for my Niece Lauren, for her 9th Birthday. Lauren takes karate lessons, so I used Karate Hanna to make her card.

I also made this for the featured Stamper challenge this week FS159. This weeks stamper is Judy Rose aka JovialJudy! Judy has a wonderful Gallery, and this card was my inspiration.

I was first attracted to this card because of the circles, and I had them all punched out. But because this was for my Niece Lauren, hearts seemed more fitting!

So I changed the main image, the background is stamped, I used hearts instead of circles, added ribbon and although I used gems, I changed the placement.

All the stamps used are from Hanna Stamps. The store is currently selling off all stock, so prices are really low!

Stamps: Karate Hanna, Graffiti, Everyday Sentiments
Paper: pretty in pink, regal rose, white, dp?-Costco
Ink: memento tuxedo black, pretty in pink, soft sky
Accessories: copics, nestie hearts, taffeta ribbon, gems, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Orange Giesha Girl! HSC93

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum. Jeanne is the host of this weeks challenge, but unfortunately she was called away on a Family emergency. Cathy aka emptynextstamper has stepped in to post the challenge for her, you can find it here HSC93, we are being challenged to use orange!

Well this Beautiful Giesha girl took on a life of her own! I only knew I was using orange, and from there I was drawing a blank! But somehow it came together & I really like the way it turned out!

The card base is black, white a layer of pumpkin pie. I used a fan in the Giesha Hanna set, stamped in versamark to make the background on the pumpkin layer. The edges are also sponged.

The next panel is just old olive, edges sponged layered onto black.

I used the new Fancy Tags nestie to make the fancy piece across the middle. I cut 2, one from black & one from Taken with Teal. The blue one has sponged edges, and I off set it a bit so the black shows through.

The Beautiful Giesha Hanna was stamped with memento tuxedo black, onto white & coloured with copics. Then I used the Nesties Label #6 die to cut her out. This panel is popped up, and I added black rhinestones & the tiny butterfly to finish it off.
The huge sale continues at Hanna Stamps, I think it ends this weekend, so you might want to shop now for the best deals!

So what do you think?

Two Challenges, Detective Hanna & Sweet Sixteen!

Have you ever started a card, not been thrilled with it? That happens to me...too often! When I decided to pack it in for the night (last night) I really wasn't happy with this card! But today when I got back to it, it all seemed to come together! Sometimes that's all it takes, a little break & we see things in a new light!

I combined 2 challenges here, the Friday Challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum, HSC91, Hosted by Sandra. She challenged us to pick an obscure Holiday in October & make something. I think mine fits for 'Awareness' month, and maybe even 'Sarcastic' month. lol

I also used the new challenge on the Crazy for Challenges blog, C4C8. Vicki challenged us to use a minimum of 3 geometric shapes. I used a rectangle, circle & oval.
I made this for my Daughter Rachel to give to her Friend for her 16th Birthday.
I used the new Detective Hanna. She's coloured with copics and her outfit is paper pieced.
The #'s are chipboard, covered in glitter. I used the nesties to cut out the circles. There's a brooch pin attached to this and I attached it to the card with velcro. So it can be pulled off, and worn as a badge!

Stamps: Detective Hanna, Sentiment -Totally Stampalicious
Paper: rose roed, white, Basic Grey DP lemonade
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Accessories: Happy Birthday EF, circle/scallop nesites, oval punch, copics, crystal effects, Martha Stewart glitter, chipboard #'s, brooch pin, velcro, dimensionals
Have a Great Day

Hanna Stamps Fan Blog Hop!

Running a bit late, but here it is! I have been dying to use Mason Riley on a gift jar filled with candy lego! Don't you think he's perfect for that!

I bought the glass jar at the Dollarama. I also found the wire mesh in the craft section at the Dollarama. I'm not sure if it was a great idea though, because the edges are sharp & I now have a few cuts on my hands! Maybe I should wrap it around the chocolate I shouldn't eat! LOL

OK so I used my stamp-a-jig and stamped the brick wall on 2 strips of white. Then I coloured them in with copics. By then my eyes were blurry and my hand was cramped!

I also stamped Mason Riley and coloured him with copics. I used nesties to cut the image, mesh & cardstock.
For the lid, I used the bricks & graffiti set. Then cut them out with nesites.

Stamps: Mason Riley, Brick wall, Graffiti
Paper: white, black, metal mesh
Ink: black
Accessories: copics, nesties,

Now I'm going to hop! Here's a list of all the participants.

She's A Rebel!

Hello, I loved the easel card so much I had to make another one. This time I used the new Goth Riley from Hanna Stamps. Isn't she/he cute!

I coloured the image with copics and added glitter with the star dust pen to the earrings and a bracelet.

The cardstock is sponged and the dp is from the Teen Angst pack from Memory Keepers.

The arrow was made with the sizzix curves ahead die. I used the 'Graffiti' set also from Hanna Stamps for the sentiment on the bottom. And keeping with the theme, I used safety pins as a stopper!

So what do you think?

Laurie

Super Mom!

Hello, I made this for this weeks TLC242 easel card challenge, what a great idea for a card! I love this idea!

I used the new Super Hero Hanna, and what better combo than super hero + Mom!

I coloured the image with copics, and you can't tell from the photo, but I added a bit of glitter from the stardust pen onto the highlighted bits of her outfit. I cut Hanna out, and only popped up her hair. You can see a close up of that in pic #2.

Rather than use a button as a stopper, I popped up the whole panel on the bottom to create an edge.

I'll be back with a couple more later!
Have a Great Day

Get Well Treat From Nurse Sophie!

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge HSC90, on the Hanna Stamps forum. This weeks challenge is Hosted by Cindy Haffner, make a treat holder!

I hope it doesn't matter that I didn't use the Halloween theme!

This is the new Nurse Riley/Sophie from Hanna Stamps. She looks so happy, she'd cheer anyone up!

So here is a 2,5,7,10 box, you can find the tutorial here. I coloured the Nurse with copics and added a tiny heart gem to her name plate.

Now originally the front edge was beautiful, I had used a MS edge punch with a tiny scallop edge & tiny hearts. But when I used the hole punch for the ribbon, I didn't notice it was wrecking my beautiful edge leaves indents! So I decided to repunch it, but I was doing it the lazy way, with the box already full of mints & the end result looked like I did it while drinking & the hearts didn't line up! darn it! so since I was running out of flap! I made it straight & rounded the corners!

I made the window in the box with an oval coluzzle, then backed it with acetate. The glittery heart was made with the Martha Stewart punch. I also punched a heart from a dbl sided sticky sheet, put it on the cs heart & dipped it into red glitter. The Nurse & the heart are popped up.

So that's my story!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving

Pink Ribbon Riley!

Hello, here's another card I made using the new Ribbon Riley! I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks pink when thinking of a ribbon for a cause! and unfortunately 2 of my Aunts have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, both have had surgery & are recovering.

So this is a softer girly look to the same stamp I used during the blog hop!

Stamp: Ribbon Riley

Paper: pretty in pink, white & pretty in pink dp

Ink: noir black palette, pretty in pink

Accessories: nestie label #4, Martha Stewart edge punch, brads, stickles, prisma colour pencils, oms, ribbon, dimensionals, sponge dauber

All the Ribbon Riley's were stamped onto white & coloured with copics. I matted each with the matching ribbon colour.

The card base is white and I scored 1/2" in of each side. The image panel is popped up, and the sentiment from 'Everyday Sentiments' was stamped in black. Thanks for hopping by, leave a comment for a chance to win a free Riley stamp. Leave a comment at each stop, for more chances to win, as we're all giving away a Riley stamp! When you get to the end of the hop, you can leave a comment for a chance to win a $50. gift certificate to Hanna Stamps...how awesome is that!

World Card Making Day!

Hello, this is a card I made for WCMD09L. It was a sketch challenge, and I decided to use Safari Riley.
The card base is brocade blue, with a layer of apricot appeal, and then a layer of dp from my momenta-born to be wild.

I stamped the image on white with noir black palette. Coloured with copics & used circle/scallop nesties to cut the layers.

The sentiment is from Stampology-Always & forever seals. It was stamped on white & the opposite side of the animal dp which is red. I used circle punches and hand cut the red piece. This is popped up.

Happy WCMD!

C4C4 Christmas Cards!

Hello, I made this card using Cindy Haffner's sketch on the Crazy for Challenges blog C4C4. I love Cindy's sketches, they totally inspire me!

I've been slowly reorganizing my craft area, and came across this already stamped & torn piece of vanilla. The background was stamped with gold but it almost looks like a pale green. I backed it with cranberry crisp. The card base is always artichoke.

The cute little Elf is a new release from Hanna Stamps. I stamped her onto very vanilla & coloured with copics. I used my quickie glue pen to add gold glitter to the ornament, belt buckle & bells on her hat. This panel is popped up.

Then I added some ribbon, which was the starting point for picking my colours!

This is another card I made using the same sketch.

The snowman image is from Sunshine Designs. I stamped him with noir black palette onto cardstock from the SU naturals pack. I coloured in very little with copics. I also added snowdots with the quickie glue pen & crystal snow. I was disappointed with this glitter, it's not sparkly like the SU stuff.

For the snowflakes, I made 2 of the same from the sizzix dies & glued them together to make them thicker & I did the same with 2 from a MS punch. Then I put them together with a glue dot & added the knotted ribbon on top.

Thanks for stopping by, Have a Great Day!

Laurie

Thankgiving & Pumpkin Pie!

Hello, this is my card for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum, HSC88. This weeks challenge is hosted by Frances aka StampOwl, we are to make a card or project using fall colours. I also used the sketch challenge SC246
What a perfect time to use fall colours, and my new Farmers Riley!
I stamped the happy couple in noir black palette onto white and coloured with copics. All of the dp is from the SU autumn vine set from last year. The sentiment is from Everyday Sentiments from Hanna Stamps.

Birthday Gift Bag!

Hello, I made this for the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum HSC87 . This weeks challenge is hosted by Cindy, and we were to make a Genie Bag you can find the tutorial here. I also used this weeks wednesday tutorial again felted cardstock, the background paper with the balloons was originally a napkin!

I even broke out my new in colours for this one, melon mambo & crushed curry. The image is the new 'Happy Birthday Hanna' I love the look of surprise on her face. I stamped her with memento tuxedo black onto white, & coloured her with copics. I used the oval nesties to cut her out & all the mats.

The happy birthday banner is also in this set, I stamped it in melon mambo, cut it out & popped it up.

The bag is just a regular lunch bag, cut to about 7" then I used the medium oval punch to make handles.

Hope you're having a great day, don't be afraid to leave a comment, or I'll start thinking I'm talking to myself!

Laurie

Falling leaves!

Hello, I managed to try 2 new techniques on this card and I used the layout from the new Crazy for Challenges group C4C3.

Of course I had to make things difficult & try the 5-layer buttons TLC239 using a very small punch, but it was the only leaf punch I had that would work, and I was dying to try this technique. I'm definitely going to do this again but with a larger piece. My leaf was so small & I was using SU cs so I only used 4 layers.

I also tried this weeks felted cardstock technique & although I had a bit of trouble getting the saran wrap to adhere to the cardstock, in the end I loved the results. The background leaf pattern is or was my napkin. You can find the tutorial here: felted cardstock

So I used the new Fall Time Hanna for this one, and stamped her with memento tuxedo black. I coloured her with copics, and decided for the 1st time to colour in the background. I'm not too sure I like how it turned out, but it's done now! lol

The pumpkin pie strip was embossed with the pumpkin harvest EF and then I sponged on a bit of pumpkin pie & close to cocoa ink.

Hows your day going?
Laurie
