{Marriage...} SFYTT & Totally Stampalicious

Hii guys,

thank heaven for Blogger having an automated post function, right? Could you even imagine what it would be like without??
Well I can tell you I wouldn't have my post up because I took a two-day job on The Whole Truth (a new TV Show) and that's where I'm at right now as you're reading this. :)

It's kinda like cell phones isn't it? I mean I don't think I got my first cell phone until I was at least seventeen and before that I got a pager at sixteen but my how times have changed lol.

Now that you got an earful of my chatter let's get to the excitement shall we?
It's SFYTT Saturday and Jen has yet another fabulous may I even say TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS Sponsorship lined up for y'all.
hehe yup our Sponsors are none other than TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS and they have a fab prize up for grabs so be sure to check Jen's Blog for all the deets.

So you may have noticed that I do a lot of monochromatic cards and yes I can admit it - I love monochromatic cards but boy are they a pain in the butt to photograph at night...and I consider myself pretty savvy in that area but not a chance...especially if it's in the kraft color family as this card here.

This hysterical set is called Gus and Stella and it comes with another guffaw sentiment but I won't spoil the surprise. ;)
The Argyle paper is from the Winter Wishes Digi Pack by Zoe Pearn (available at Sweet Shoppe) and the polka dotted paper is from the Basic Grey's basic manila paper pad.
The yummy ribbon was a special find at my local Joann's store and the netting underneath that is something I found at Michaels in the fabric flower department. I can't for the life of me remember the name but it's not ribbon, it's not soft...it can poke you...trust me I know.

thanks so much for stopping by!!!
Don't forget to check out all the eye candy my stampalicious Sisters have come up with:
see ya later :)

{Touch of Asia} Viva La Verve

I've had a week and a half off from school and you'd think I would have taken
that time to work on my portfolio...well... I am gonna say that I tried to do just that today but
my ideas were so scattered I couldn't come up with one good environment sketch so
I decided to do some cleaning and make my Viva La Verve card instead.

I was inspired by a Bamboo shower curtain I saw on the Bed Bath and Beyond website (Amber let us chose our own inspirational photo this week) and the fact that the recipient of the card swap I'm participating in loves Asian themes and the color red.

Sounded easy enough but turned out quite messy:
I applied white acrylic paint to my bamboo background stamp, stamped it on the ivory DP and then spritzed gold and frost shimmer all over. Acrylic paint dries really really fast so as soon as you stamp your image, run to the sink and wash off your stamp.

For the base of my gold Butterfly Medallion I used chipboard that I had cut out with an oval nestie and then I embossed it with gold embossing powder several times. The more coats you have the better your stamp will read. When you're ready to stamp your image make sure you do it quickly before the embossing powder cools off.

For the red Cardstock I used a stamp from the Verve set Relax, stamped it with Versamark, embossed it with gold embossing powder and distressed the paper with Baroque and Frayed Burlap ink.

thanks so much for stopping by
~til next time,

{Welcome Emma Grace} TCP Tuesday 120

I don't know if you've heard already but my dear SFYTT Sister Megan Lock gave birth to her baby girl last week. Her name is Emma Grace and I hear that Mom and Baby are doing great...sooo lucky for me Toni picked this great inspirational photo for her TCP Tuesday challenge this week which was truly just perfect for my Welcome Baby card I wanted to make for Megan. :)

A few deets on my card here:

These darling hippos and the sentiment are from the newly released And Baby Makes... set by the Cat's Pajamas. I stamped my hippos twice, cut out just the heads of one stamped image and propped it up with pop-up dots on the second fully stamped image to give it some dimension. I also added some Crystal Effects to my hippos for some overall shine.
The darling flowers and buttons are made using the brand new Cat's Pajamas' Dies. Oh and the cute bow is made using Divine Twine, another awesome TCP product.

The papers I used are all from the Duck in a Row collection by October Afternoon and the cute measuring tape ribbon is made by My Little Yellow Bicycle.

Wanna play with us?
Here are all the details if you'd like to play along:

1. Each a week one of The Cat Pack will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, technique, color, theme, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until the end of the month to complete the challenge.
4. Play along with us and add your own design to your Splitcoast Gallery using keywords TCPTues120 or to your blog and then use the Inlinkz button at the bottom of the post to add your design to this page. Post your design using the Inlink Button at the bottom of this post. Your design must be linked and visible to Alma's blog post to be considered.
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp}

{Happy Birthday Julee}

Hi guys,

So today I'd like to share with you a card I made for Julee Tilman, owner and creative genius behind Verve Stamps.
I fell in love with Julee's designs the very first time I saw them and whenever I can (I am a poor student again after all) I like to add to my little collection of Verve stamps.

But anywho... it's her birthday today and even though I've never met her in person I feel as though I know her.

So in case you're reading this Julee:
Happy Birthday!!!
I hope you have the bestest day ever!! And that there'll be lots of cake in your immediate future ;) oh and this card is already on its way to you. :)

thanks for stopping by and a blessed Sunday to you all!! :)

{Grow Green} SFYTT & Amber Ink

Hi guys,

It's SFYTT Saturday and we have a very special treat for you all today:
Today's sketch challenge is
sponsored by Amber Ink,
a brand new stamping company!

They have just opened their doors on July 20th so be sure to stop by and check them out!
And... if you're feelin' stampy this week then be sure to play along with us for your chance of winning a fab-y price from Amber Ink!!
Stop by Jen's Blog for all the deets!!

I took Jen's sketch as an excuse to make a fold-out card since I haven't done one of those in a while. :)

For my card I used the Grow Green digi
Stamp set by Amber Ink, isn't it adorable?! I just love their style!! Although I did cheat a little - the plant a seed oval is actually a circle stamp that I just stretched a little in photoshop to fit the sketch. Psst - don't tell anyone ;)

Oh and the matching DP?!
Amber Ink's digi Papers! Aren't they cute?! I've also used the new Flower Die on some fab green Felt, both from the Cat's Pajamas. Oh and my card is being held together by a Velcro Dot behind the oval nestie. :)

Here's the inside of my card:

I used Photoshop to paper piece my Amber Girl with digi papers and I
added some Stickles Glitter to the Seeds and the plant inside the card:

This is all I have for you today - thank you so much for stopping by! Are you curious to see more Amber Ink images? Be sure to stop by and see what my sisters have come up with:
and welcome back to my fellow litter mate/Cat Packer Carole Burrage!!!

Happy Stamping!!

No worries ...I didn't know either until I asked and found out that it stands for Artist Trading Cards.
What are those?
They are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 cute little cards that are kinda like a business card. You can embellish them as you like, sign them on the back and trade them with your fellow stampers.

This here is my very first ATC of...well...many more to come so stay tuned for more. ;)

Wanna play along?
I think we're still accepting participants so hop on over to our SCS forum and see if you can sign up.

Thanks for stopping by,

{Oh Baby}

Hi guys,

here's my Baby Project that if you were at the Cat's Pajamas Release Party on Monday night you already had a preview of.
Did you all have a good time?
I really hope you did. Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there the whole time because I had class but I did stop by afterwards to see what you all were talking about when I was gone.

So let's talk
Baby shall we?
All the stamps for this Baby Girl Announcement card and the Baby Boy picture cube are the brandswankin' new set And Baby Makes... by the Cat's Pajamas.

For some overall texture and dimension I added elements out of the new wood and felt sheets you can get over at the Cat's Pajamas as well. Oh and the pretty flowers on my project? I made those using our new Flower Die from our die line Cut Ups.

Here are some detailed shots:

{Much Obliged} CMC & Sweet Sunday78

My classes were both cancelled today so I had some extra time on my hand and I decided to play along with Color Me Copic's very first challenge and Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch challenge, although I admit my card is a somewhat loser interpretation.

In case you're not familar with Color Me Copic, it's a blog that's run by some fabulously talented Colorists and Stampers and that's where they share their Copic coloring techniques with all of us. It's an awesome resource if you're new to Copics or just want to improve your technique.

I had quite the challenge creating this black & white look because I didn't have all the right colored Copic Markers so what you see here is a mixture of
C1, C3, C5 and T3, T5, T7, T9
On top of that my blender was out of "ink" so I had to switch to another companies' blender
and that one didn't work all that great sooo I did what I could
...and placed another Copic order. :)

thanks for stopping by and
Happy Coloring!

{Thanks with Flair} Viva La Verve Wk1

Hi guys,

I'm very excited to be able to say that I'm all caught up with my Viva La Verve challenges this month. YAY!!! And even better...I got to dust off a few stamps that haven't seen an ink pad for quite some time...uhm uhm.

Yeah anyway...here is what I came up with using this fabulous sketch and fabulous bathroom as inspiration.

For my card here I used the Small Circles set by Waltzing Mouse, a darling company based in Ireland I think. Claire has the best images to go with your Nesties IMHO. Oh and then the cute Thanks is from the My Favorite Things set Thanks a Bunch. :)

I also felt the sudden urge to add some glitter so I traced some of the flourishes in the stamp with my Stickles Glitter and I added some sparkles to the flower as well.
thanks so much for stopping by!

{The Little Things} Viva La Verve Wk2

Woohoo Post #4 of the Day for me and I'm catching up with all the Viva La Verve Challenges of the Month too!!YAY!!!

Amber has really outdone herself with her fab sketches this month! This one here is definitely keeper!!!
AND you gotta love all these yummy inspirational pictures she has supplied us with as well. This month she is taking us on a tour of several different bathrooms and my there are some gorgeous ones...makes my little plain ole bathroom look really really bad.

So let's get into a few of the details here:
All the patterned papers you see here are actually Verve Stamps! The black and white pattern is from the Bountiful Background set and the yellow background (which is a little hard to see in this photograph I'm sorry) as well as the sentiment are from the Relax set.

For the ribbon treatment I took a lacy Jolee Sticker and stuck it on top of plain Twill Tape. That's it!! Easy peasy...just the way I like it! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Stamps: Relax (Verve), Bountiful Backgrounds (Verve)

{Sunflower Power} Viva La Verve Wk3

You are not gonna believe it but this is Post #3 for me today - hehe - I guess this is just my kinda way of celebrating my birthday! :)

I always enjoy my SFYTT Sister Amber's Viva La Verve challenges and I'm going to try really really hard to play along with all challenges this month.

This month she is walking us through all kinds of bathrooms to help us find some inspiration although this week we were able to pick our own inspirational picture from a website she picked out for us.

I picked this cute Sunflower Theme which you can see below. I've always loved Sunflowers and especially now that we have these fabulous Flower and Button Dies from The Cat's Pajamas (they were just released last night so hurry on over there before they sell out!!). My sunflowers are made up out of felt from the Orange You Glad collection (also from the Cat's Pajamas) and wood veneer sheets.

The Sentiment is from the Verve set Relax, one of my faves.

thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a GREAT day and remember: Life is good! :)

*** Please SCROLL DOWN if you like TURTLES and for my TCP Tuesday 119 post ***

Hi Guys,

well it's my birthday today - I'm a total of 29 years old and yes this is my very first 29th bday ;). I had loads of fun celebrating this past weekend so today is going to be very low key for me: homework, perhaps a movie and I'm hoping to get some stamping in as well.
School's been keeping me pretty busy over the past week so I wasn't able to get all that much stamping done unfortunately but I'm working real hard on changing that. :)

So today I'm excited to say that I was able to play along with the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge. I always enjoy her sketch challenges but I rarely get to play so this is a special occasion for me. :)

I also got to use some Greeting Farm stamps which have been collecting a little dust ... uhm uhm... .These cuties here are from the set Amazing Duo. I colored them in using Copic Markers and added some Stickles to parts of their outfits and some Crystal Effects to Ian's super goggles!!

The papers are digi papers actually - from the Action Hero collection available at ScrapGirls (they have some amazing digi papers let me tell ya). I like to print my digi papers on Staples Card Stock paper - I've found that it's a bit heavier weight, holds the colors nicely and doesn't warp or bubble.

The clouds were made using MFT's cloud Die-Namic. I love me some clouds!!! :) And I think that about wraps it all up for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Have a GREAT day today!! :)

{Hot Water} a TCP Sneak Peek

**FOR MY SFYTT POST PLEASE SCROLL DOWN**

Hi and welcome back on this sunny and hot, very very hot Saturday - yup this is Post #2 of the day for me. I'm trying to make up for a rather skinny stampin' June. [wink wink]

We are now on Day 6 of our Sneaky Peek week and we're nearing us towards the end...all good things must come to an end at some point right?
WRONG!! lol
Our end is gonna be even more fun because it involves a party and of course the actual release of all this delicious cuteness you've seen so far.

So today we're previewing Ship Happens and as we all know that's certainly true...especially if our mischievous penguins are involved. :)
I just adore these little rascals because of their capability of simply making me smile no matter how crappy of a mood I'm in which doesn't happen very often thankfully. :)

Wanna know what else I used on this card that's new?
See those fun buttons? I made those using our new Die line Cut Ups!! This one here especially is really becoming my go-to die because I love button embellishments but I don't always have the right color button or I want a patterned button, or I just don't want to add another thick layer to my card (after all these puppies have to fit through the mailbox slot). This die is the answer to all of that!!! Awesome!!
oh and of course I used the yummy twine again...it just works for everything!! I love it!!

So now why don't you take your hot water and ship on over to the following Cat Pack'ers for their take on this preview and a little comment:
Carole
Joanne

Oh and here are all the important links for you, summed up and wrapped in a pretty bow...well imaginary bow at least:

{From Another World} SFYTT & Wild Flower Patch

Hi everyone,

this here is the first post I have for you today...I've been a busy stamper lately {grin} I guess I'm making up for my lack of posts in June. :)

Soo let's see what's going on today shall we?
Jen not only has another fun sketch for us she also has another fabulous sponsor lined up for you guys this week: Wild Flower Patch Stamps!!
They are a mostly-digi stamp company with lots of cute images.
Play with us - using Jen's sketch of course, upload it to Jen's Blog and you just may be the winner of a fabulous prize!!

I'm featuring the cute fairy Iris and I thought how fun would it be to create a card that had an older, mystic feel to it kinda like Peter Pan - the movie. :) I colored her in using Colored Pencils and a little Gamsol and then I embellished and glittered with Distress Stickles.

As far as the papers go - I used a page from the Petite Pages pack by Webster's Pages (wow say that five times fast) and I used one of Tim Holtz' techniques to die the paper so it matches my KC journal strips. Basically I laid out my non-stick stamping surface, took some distress ink and stamped it on that, sprayed that with water and then rolled my paper in it, heat set it, then roll it again until I was happy with the way it looked.

For the ribbon treatment I simple took this gold border sticker by Jolee's Boutique and stuck it on the edges of my twill band. Easy enough no?

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Are you interested in seeing what eye candy my Sisters have come up with? Well then why don't ya visit them and check it out:
Happy Stamping!!

~ Sony

Stamps: Iris (WFP)
Paper: Petite Pages (WP), Soft Suede (SU), Beige
Ink: Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen (all Ranger Distress Ink)
Accessories: Journal Pad (KC), Border Sticker (Jolee's Boutique), Lace Embellie Ribbon (Jolee's Boutique), Twill Tape, Kraft Thread, Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Distress Stickles (Ranger), Sponges, Non-Stick Surface Mat (Tim Holtz)

{Warm the Soul} TCP Sneak Peek

Hi guys,

are you having as much of a ball as we are? Previewing all these adorable new stamp sets and all those other delicious goodies Alma will have in store for you next week?

Today is Day 4 of our Sneaky Peek Week and we're showing you a very special set because it was inspired and named after one of our very own Cat Pack-ers and that's Toni Armstrong. Toni and Amy have the official sneak peeks of this set for you.

This set here is called Toni's Tea Set and I absolutely adore this set. It comes with 3 heavenly sentiments, this charming checkerboard background stamp that you can see on my cream circle and of course the necessary tea accessories as a tea bag, lemon, steam and a little heart. :) I'm telling you - you are going to go goo-goo-ga-ga over this set. :)

Since this stamp gives me the warm fuzzies I chose warm colored DP from October Afternoon, one of my current fave DPs. I wo-manhandled the edges of my paper with my scissors to give it a worn, distressed look and added a lace ribbon to complete the look.

Wanna be in the "know"?
* Sneaky Peek Week is ongoing at this point. Leave a little love on each official Sneak Peek for a chance of winning our entire release!! Click HERE for the schedule

* play along with our TCP Tuesday challenges for a chance of being crowned the month's Swankiest Stamper and winning $25 in Cat Cash. All the deets can be found HERE.
