Cheer Up Buttercup with a PPA Sketch

I have another catalog Sneak Peek for you from the upcoming Stampin' Up! 2014-2015 Annual Catalog!  My card today is based off of the amazing sketch drawn up by a member of the Pals for the PPA #204 challenge!  I love being part of this amazing group of Pals, it's truly an honor to get to know them better thru our FB chats and webinar gatherings!  I simply love having Mary Fish as an upline!  It just makes me happy.

Feel free to play along with the sketch challenge or simply stop by to check out the fabulous talent in our group!  Click here to upload your creation!

So the sketch, in my opinion, is a very fun layout.  Several pieces work together to create the finished project.  In planning what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted to share with you the NEW In Colors and the new Moonlight DSP.  Those elements became what I used on the larger pieces of the sketch so that they got highlighted the most!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • My card base is the brand new color I know you'll love, Hello Honey!  It's a fabulous shade of yellow that is sophisticated and well, very charming!  You'll be seeing more of this fabulous color since it'll be around for the next 2 glorious years!
  • I haven't used my Hexagon Hive Framelit so I thought it work wonderfully with the geometric theme of the the stamp set and DSP.  I cute the Hexagon Hive Framelit out with another gorgeous In Color, Lost Lagoon!  It is my favorite of the 5 since it is a handsome shade of Blue reminiscent of Baja Breeze from a few years ago!
  • The Cheer Up Buttercup sentiment is stamped from the Geometrical stamp set found in the 2014 Occasions Catalog.  HINT!!!  This stamp set will continue to be available for purchase in the upcoming 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  This set has been a huge hit since it's so trendy.  I'm excited to use it more and show you it's versatility in upcoming blog posts!
These products will be available for purchase June 2nd

Card Stock:  Lost Lagoon (133679), Hello, Honey (133678)
DSP:  Moonlight (133701) - this is a stack of 48 sheets sized 4-1/2" x 6-1/2"

Welcome Kit - Subscribe now to Paper Pumpkin!

Kits are absolutely the cheapest, easiest, and quickest way to paper craft and make some fun projects.  My Paper Pumpkin was designed by Stampin' Up! just for that purpose.  To give you quick and simple but fun projects delivered directly to your door each month.  Kits are the perfect solution for those of us who LOVE to craft but have busy lives -- pre-cut and pre-designed kits help us to get it done!

My Paper Pumpkin is a monthly kit sent straight to you each month from Stampin' Up!  This kit I'm featuring on my blog today is the Welcome Kit.  You will receive this kit the very first month you subscribe.  It includes all the supplies you'll need to make four cards with envelopes.  Everything is pre-cut and ready to go. Plus, step by step instructions are included with each month's kit.  Sign-up before the 10th of each month and you will be subscribed for that current month and will receive the Welcome Kit by the 20th of that same month.  Each month after that, you'll receive a Surprise monthly kit.  Could be journals, a Brag Book (like the month of May kit), cards, gift tags, home decor, etc.

I followed the instructions exactly to create my card.  I did add Whisper White Baker's Twine to the Tempting Turquoise Button and tied it in a bow before adhering it to my cards with Glue Dots.  Adhesive is not included in the monthly Kits and you will need it to assemble the projects!

The sentiment that came in the kit, 'Hey There Friend' is one of my favorites!!  Once you've assembled your cards you keep the stamp sets to create more projects with later on.  This Welcome Kit also comes with a Free 'D' Clear Block which you will need for all future monthly Paper Pumpkin Kits!

I also used the paint splatter image from the stamp set to decorate the outside of my envelopes and inside of my cards!  If you're feeling adventurous you can always change up the card layout and step it up if you want with other embellishments or stamping techniques.  I love the whimsical look of the cards so I just added the Whisper White Baker's Twine to soften the look a bit!  Plus it added some more texture.

Your Welcome Kit will include:
  • Hey There Stamp Set
  • Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Spot
  • Printed cards: 4 (outside card base is Gray, inside is white)
  • Printed Designer Paper: 4 pieces cut to 4" x 5-1/4"
  • Die-Cut self-adhesive card stock stickers
  • Whisper White Envelopes - 4
  • Tempting Turquoise Designer Buttons:  4 pieces (adhere with Glue Dots)
  • 'D' Clear Block
  • Instruction brochure printed in English, Spanish, and French

CLICK HERE to start subscribing to My Paper Pumpkin today!  Your Welcome Kit will arrive by September 20th and you will receive confirmation emails from Stampin' Up! when they charge your credit card and when your kit ships.  Kits will arrive in your mailbox via USPS.  The costs of the kits are $19.95 each month, which includes the shipping charges.

Traveling? Send a Post Card

Had to share these gorgeous card ideas using the Stampin' Up! Post Card stamp!  These cards were made by Shelli Gardner, the CEO and Co-Founder of Stampin' Up!  They are so beautiful, I just had to feature them today.  Here's a closer look at that Post Card stamp we all love!  It's a single background stamp and comes in either Wood-Mount or Clear-Mount.  Stamp measures 4-1/2" x 5-3/4" so it perfectly covers a card front!

Love this card that uses the Tape It Stamp set as well as the Ticket Duo Punch!

Hello There Friends

K for Kari!  So my friend Rachelle texted me that she had a little somethin' for me a couple weeks ago and I wondered what it could be!?!  Surprise gifts are so fun.  She had recently gone to a garage sale and got a bunch of stuff for her kids and inside one of the boxes were these K stamps!  K-A-R-I isn't exactly the most common spelt name and I just couldn't believe that she randomly got this stamp with my name.  Growing up, I NEVER found things with my name spelt right, it was always: Carrie or Karl.  So this was a fun surprise.  Plus she knows I'm a stampin' girl so this was just the cutest gift.  At first I thought the other stamp was a K for cat.  But then it dawned on me yesterday that it's K for kitty!  LOL!  Meow!

My friend Kelli made this super cute card for me using some new Stampin' Up! stamps she bought thru me.  I love it when my friends send me cards in the mail, it just makes my day.  The row of pearls add such a vintage, shabby chic touch to the card, which goes perfectly with this stamp set!  All the images of the set are shown below!

Thanks friends for blessing me!
