Make It Crafty Valentine Blog Hop

Happy Friday!

Well, 2012 was a year of change in my life, and it looks like 2013 is going to continue to bring changes.

This will be my last post as a member of the Make It Crafty Design Team. The timing is good. There is so much coming up in the spring and summer; it will be good to have the time to take care of life outside the craft world. But don't worry, I will be around now and then, creating just for the love of creating. I hope having the extra time without deadlines will open up my creativity a bit and I will be able to explore new opportunities to grow.

MAKE IT CRAFTY VALENTINE BLOG HOP

The theme of today's blog hop is Valentines.

There will be special prizes throughout the blog hop, so be sure to leave some love on everyone's blog. The prizes for this blog hop will be from the new Geeky Love Wedding Collection. Zoe will give one image from the collection to 6 lucky winners. No telling which image will be where, but you have 6 chances to win one of the different images from the collection.

In addition, for a limited time, Zoe will offer 10% off ALL DIGI stamps. You just need to use coupon code VAL10. This will last until Monday, February 11, so hop on over to the store to get your digi stamps today.

My card today features an oldie but goody! It is called Geeky Love. I also used lots of my favorite embellishments, Chippies!

This cute Geeky Couple is colored with Copics.

The sentiment is one of Make It Crafty's adorable rubber stamps, Happy Days Tab Sentiments. I love these unique (and totally Zoe) sayings. I framed it with a label from the N2 Fancy Collection, painted with my paint dauber.

I used the Butterfly Leaves Chippies for my flowers.

The corner embellishments are Swirly Corners Chippies. Amanda shared a great idea with us to use nail polish on the chippies. It worked like a charm!

I hope you have fun on the blog hop!

Make It Crafty Blog Hop - Happy Australia Day

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!
If you have arrived here via the Make it Crafty Blog Hop, welcome to my blog. If you happened on this post and are not aware of the blog hop, welcome to you as well, and I invite you to check out the other great designer blogs to see their creations for Australia Day. You can start HERE.

There is a great surprise as part of this blog hop. There is a hidden price included on one of the blogs. So leave some love for each of the bloggers for your chance to win...

The Entire Australia Outback Collection!

One of the great things about being a craft blogger is the great people I get to meet from all over the world. The world becomes a lot smaller when you meet people who share your passion.

I have also had the opportunity to learn more about the different traditions from around the world, and today we celebrate one of those traditions. Saturday, January 26, is Australia Day. When Zoe challenged us to make cards for an Australia Day Blog Hop, I was intrigued. How do they celebrate Australia Day. I did a little research, and found it is very much like the Fourth of July in the US, but with a different flag. Lots of fun in the sun, fireworks, parties, face painting. Great fun!
I really wanted to represent the Australian flag in my creation, so I took Enchanted Unicorn from Make It Crafty and an Australian flag, and combined them in Photoshop. Here is the result...

In order to make the lines show up, I had to lighten the flag. I also added some hints of shadows and ground the image with Copics.

I used Microsoft Word - Word Art to create my sentiment. I included some chippies because I just LOVE chippies!

From here, you can go visit the store blog. And don't forget to leave some love for your chance to win!

Make It Crafty - Red

Hi Everyone!
Today, I am sharing one of the lovely 60's girls from Make It Crafty. We were tasked to use RED, so this is Crystal in red.

I used Distress Ink to color Crystal. There are some details I need to work on. Detail can be difficult when watercoloring. I find the distress ink markers do help with the details.

Prima Clear Stamp
Tim Holtz Nature's Elements

Penelope Spots Santa

Hey There!

Today, I have a fun Christmas project featuring Make It Crafty Chipboard products and images.

From the first time I saw this adorable circle shadowbox and the Santa's Sleigh Chippies, I saw Santa flying across the shadowbox opening.

With the release of Christmas Town and Penelope With Teddy digis, the scene was complete.

Santa was colored using a Gold Paint Dauber.

I added some Magnolia Spruce trees for effect, and finished it off with a frame of lace.

I used the following items on my project...

Magnolia Spruce Tree
Copics
Gold Paint Dauber
Lace
Paper from my stash

Thanks for stopping by!

Dashing Santa

Howdy!
I am continuing to work on Christmas cards as Christmas is right around the corner (can you believe it?)
Today, my card features Dashing Santa Claus from Make It Crafty!

These new Steampunk Santas are so creative and fun. They work so perfectly with Tim Holtz products, giving that old-fashioned shabby look.

Unfortunately, the photography did not catch all the background colors. I used very light yellows, blues and grays to give the sleigh movement.

The Tim Holtz Pinecone Die is so versatile. I tend to make nice vintage flowers with this die.

I used the following items on my project:
Tim Holtz Seasonal papers
Pine Cone Die from Tim Holtz
Copics
Acrylic Piece
Crystal Effects
Alcohol Ink
 Ribbon
Lace
Floral and Branch Punches
Gold Stickles

This Santa is called Christmas Eve Countdown. As soon as I saw these Santa digis, I thought they would be great with Tim Holtz products. The paper, reindeer and flower are all from Tim Holtz collections.
