The Paper Shelter Challenge: #604 Sweet Treats

Happy Monday!  I haven't been able to play along with The Paper Shelter for a few weeks.  Over the weekend I printed off a fun summer image called Tropical Fun.  I love using the pre-colored images for a quick project.  I found the free background through a Google search.  I thought I worked great!

The card base is a 5 1/2 x 3 slimline with designer paper from Echo Park.  I finished with a sentiment and stickers from my stash.

I would like to share my card with the following:

The Paper Shelter Challenge #564 SummerTime

I'm joining the current Summer Time challenge at The Paper Shelter.  Summer in Alaska is all about fishing, camping, hiking and enjoying the outdoors!  I couldn't resist using the adorable When In Doubt.. Exaggerate!! digital stamp by The Paper Shelter.

The digital image was printed onto X-Press It card stock and colored with alcohol markers.  It was die cut and layered onto designer papers from BoBunny Take a Hike collection.  I thought the sentiment was perfect with this guy and his catch.  It is from a very old TAC set.  The finished card size is 4 inches square.

Gerda Steiner Designs New Release - Melon Muncher

I'm very honored and excited to be Guest Designing for Gerda Steiner Designs this month.

I was given the opportunity to create with their newest 2x3 clear set - Melon Muncher.  I love the GSD critters and this one is just the cutest!  Love the the little cheeks and adorable face.

My design started with a stenciled background using a Sun Ray stencil from My Favorite Things.  The guinea pig was stamped and masked before inking the stencil.  A few hand drawn grass clumps and gems finish the scene.

Please stop by the Gerda Steiner Designs Blog for additional photos and a supply list.

Word Art Wednesday - Psalm 62:8

We have a new challenge up for you at Word Art Wednesday.  Our awesome sponsor this week is My Favorite Things!  They are generously providing a $20 gift card to one randomly selected challenge entry.  Hope you get a chance to join the fun!

My card features the retired You Have My Heart set by Birdie Brown.  The image was colored with Copic Markers and masked to create the cloudy sky.   Clouds were created by masking with a cloud die and inking with Salty Ocean and Seedless Preserves distress ink.  A few gems and this week's free digital Bible Verse complete the card.

The Scripture Word Art is free for you.  We would love to see your project using the Scripture, but it's not required.  You can submit up to 5 projects each week -- a total of 10 for the challenge.  The challenge is always Family Friendly Anything Goes.

Create A Smile July Sketch Challenge

If you visit my blog, you probably already know that a good sketch is my favorite challenge!  The current (and sadly final) challenge at Create A Smile really inspired me.

I've really enjoyed the inspiration that the design team provides each month on the Create A Smile challenge blog.  I love their cute images and punny sentiments!

My card panel began with a Gelli Print from my stash.  The pig images from Create A Smile Pig Out set were colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and adhered with dimension foam tape.

A very old birthday sentiment from Memory Box was stamped onto Stampin' Up! Granny Apple Green card stock and adhered.  The card is finished simply with a green twine bow.

Mo's Digital Challenge #302 - Anything Goes with A Mo Image

I'm joining the Anything Goes Challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil with an older image by Mo Manning called Summer Girl.  (Sorry, it appears to be retired as I was unable to find it in the store.)

My shaker card started with a pasta box --- Yep, I salvaged this ziti pasta box when I spotted the fun window on the front!!

Crazy, huh?!  Well, I trimmed the cardboard to the appropriate size then layered my designer paper.  The "window" was die cut on my dp with a Spellbinder rectangle die.

I added Sprinkles Embellishments from Stampin' Up! for the shaker design.  The sweet Summer Girl digi was colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  The sun die and sentiment are from Lil' Inkers Designs.

I'm super happy with how this turned out.  I hope it brings a smile to the recipients face!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge: #294 Anything "Mo" Goes

The summer is flying by here in Alaska!  I couldn't resist coloring Mo's sweet Pool Party image this weekend.  It's an older image, and possibly retired, but one of my favorites.

The image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  I created the beach scene by sponging the sky and sand with Memento ink.  Palm tree die is from Gina Marie.

I hope everyone gets a little Vitamin Sea before the summer ends!

Di's Digi Challenge - Summer Fun

I'm joining the current Summer Fun challenge at Di's Digi with this sweet digital image called Cherry Blossom Mice.  The image was printed onto Stampin' Up! whisper white cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.  The cherries were lightly watercolored with distress ink.
I searched my digital and rubber sets for a Summer sentiment.  I finally came across this stamp from a set from The Craft's Meow called Life is a Carnival.  Sadly, they are now out of business.

The image was die cut with Spellbinders Labels Nine die cut.  I'm trying to pull out some of my older shaped dies and use them!  This little scene fit perfectly!  Papers are from American Crafts Happy Traveler paper pad.

Art Impressions Challenge #237 - Summer Vibes

I'm sharing a quick card with the current challenge at Art Impressions.  The current theme is Summer Vibes.  I went in a little different direction by pulling out the AI Road Trip set and creating a little summer road trip scene.

Living in Alaska, we do a lot of scenic road trips.  I love this set and the Tim Holtz Rays stencil worked perfectly with the scene.

Mo's Digital Challenge #137 - Weather Related

Elaine has asked us to create something "weather-related" with our Mo Manning digital images.  I know that most of the lower 48 is having hot temperatures which are perfect for this sweet image.  Alaska, not so much, but it's early yet in our summer!

This is what I came up with using "Lacie".  Lacie and her ice cream cone were colored with Copic markers.  The tree was created with a Spellbinder Nestibilities scalloped circle die.  The grass was cut using my new Memory Box Grassland Border.  Of course, I added a little bling to Lacie's sun glasses and Stickles to her ice cream cone.

Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look!

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #82

This week's challenge over on Mo's Digital Challenge blog is "Here Comes Summer". What better to start the summer than a day at the beach soakin' up the sun! I think this little image called "Pool Party" is so adorable and fun to color. Bella and Bronte are ready to hit the beach and soak in some sun!

The image was colored with Copic Markers, Koh-I-Noor pencils and baby oil. I paired the image with Cosmo Cricket Snorkel designer papers. The sun is a die-namic from My Favorite Things and dry embossed with the Swiss dot cuttlebug folder. Flower Soft was added for a little sand!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #30

Denise is our hostess this month over on Mo's Blog. For her first challenge it's all about a forecast of rain - use an image from Mo's Digital Pencil to make a creation that includes or suggests water. Mo created this cute Pool Party image for the PCP members recently. I colored them with Copic Markers, added Flower soft for sand and coordinated with Cosmo Cricket dp. Thanks for stopping by!
