I know, I know. Why am I showing you a baby themed tag when its Christmas time?
Its just that I'm cleaning several piles off my desk in preparation for my Dec. Daily and it was sitting here.
And babies are born at Christmas time too.
Storybook Friends and Teeny Tiny Wishes sets. Confetti white, marina mist and whisper white cardstock. Pear pizzazz, marina mist, smoky slate, sahara sand, whisper white and black Stazon inks. Deco label framelits, big shot, polka dot embossing folder, aquapainter, very vintage designer buttons and linen thread.
We had a dual baby shower at work last week. One boy and one girl. Envision the girl tag with a melon mambo (because that is the only pink cardstock I have) tag. There is actually a whisper white tag behind the marina mist one so I could write on it. I used this in lieu of a card.
I just love the Storybook Friends stamp set. For this, I inked up just the little lamby and left off the words.
You can hardly tell but I slid the whisper white ink pad across the raised polka dots.
The Hubs thought the words, "hello baby" sounded like a pick up line. Well, hello baby..................
Geez.
Alrighty then. I do have lots of holiday type cards to show you but I really need to get my Dec. Daily up to date too. I've got to get my rear in gear.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Blessings, b.

baby x 2
Hidey Ho!
I promise to keep this short and sweet tonight.....Mr. Selfridge is coming on. Are you watching it?
A friend at work just had twin grandbabies. So I made a cute little tag to go on the gift.
Thats the Ticket and Distressed Dots sets. Crumb cake, marina mist, bashful blue and whisper white cardstock. Whisper white and marina mist inks. Big shot, polka dot embossing folder, scallop border punch, bitty buttons, white bakers twine, label framelits, simple letters die (retired).
One of the babies names starts with a "p" and one with a "d". I made a slightly larger tag like the Leprechaun tag.
I dyed the white bakers twine with the Marina Mist ink. I didn't use the matching punch because I wanted the tickets to be connected. So I just used my handy dandy paper snips and cut around them.
Alrighty then, thats all for tonight. I hope to be a little more regular here on the blog-o.
Thanks for stopping by and hanging out.

recap
Hola mi amigos! How is everyone today? I've caught up on all the things I was behind on last week but this week is getting crazy too. Every single day for the next 10 days is packed. Jam packed!
So let me recap the very important week I had last week. Lots of pics here tonight.
First I have to show you an award The Boy got.
I laughed quite heartily when I saw this. Does his teacher know him well or what?
Then there was..........GRADUATION!
Hmmmmm......I did much better with this than I thought I would. I was so busy the day before and day of, that I didn't really give it much thought until................they started playing Pomp and Circumstance.
Then I wanted to lose it. But I didn't. Just 1 or 2 tears. The rest of the time I kept it in check and my eyes only welled up. I hid behind my sunglasses. Don't want to be the embarrassing mom you know. Well, sometimes I do ;)
See the medal? He was an Honor Graduate. So proud of him.
Most of my pics of him look like this. He was looking into the sun but the expression says, "do you have to do this?" Yes I do. I told him he had to pose for some pics. This moment needs to be documented. The other boys were more happy to pose.
He has known these 2 boys since they were 8. My heart just about bursts when I see how much they've grown and stayed good boys. They are all going off to college (2 different colleges right next door to each other) and then all hell will break loose probably. But for now they are good boys. One of them is even an Eagle Scout.
Grace decorated some pots and we planted some flowers and made a little Thank You banner. Like my last minute pic in the back seat?
Flight of the Butterfly and Inspired by Nature. Old olive and rose red inks. Crumb cake and naturals ivory cardstock. Natural hemp and a bamboo skewer.
Why did I take a pic of the uglier one? The other banner just seemed cuter. Anway, I used the hemp to bind the banner to the skewer. The teachers seemed to like them.
Then I also had a baby shower to prepare for. 2 of the ladies at work are expecting within 2 weeks of each other right when school starts again. So we won't see them again until after they have the babies.
A Word for You set (on the inside). Early espresso, regal rose and whisper white cardstock. Big shot, simple serif alpha die, square scallop duo die, square lattice embossing folder, white taffeta, neutrals button, paper piercer and dimensionals.
Can you guess that they are both having girls? Almost everyone I know of (with the exception of 1) finds out what the sex is. Why? They say they want to get the right color. Well, what are they going to do if the next one is a boy? Buy all new stuff again in blue? I think its better to just be surprised on delivery day. Makes that special day even more special.
So I'll laugh my head off if one of them turns out to be a boy. I'm just mean that way.
I tied the button on with some white embroidery floss. Nice and tight.
I used the initial of what the baby's name is going to be. The j was a little too tall so I just chopped a little off the top.
I think the square lattice looks like a soft blankie here.
Speaking of blankies, I found these blankets at Target. OMG! They are so soft! The reverse side is even softer! I bought diapers and then swaddled them with the blanket. I remembered how to do it! I used a diaper pin to secure the tail.
The white ribbon is just the ribbon that the blankets came with.
Alrighty then. I have to make some cards for the people that are leaving my school next year. They are closing my school and reopening it as a charter school. So lots of people are leaving and going to other sites. I have no idea what I'm going to make.
Father's Day is Sunday. I guess I'd better get on that too. It never ends....................................

He got 2 graduation gifts before we even sent out the announcements so I made up some 1/4 sheet note cards for him to write thank yous on. They don't fold. He slipped them in with the announcement when he sent them. He wrote the best thank yous. I was quite impressed.
It uses a very old retired stamp from the set Sketch and Event. I saved the hat because I knew I would need it someday. It also uses Thank You Kindly.
In the few days leading up to the last day of school, Grace and I had to make gifts for her teachers. This is what we came up with.

baby, baby, baby ohhhhhh
now you can share in the Justin Beiber song that is in my head. You're welcome. And if you don't know who Justin Beiber is then..............just move along.
Hey there. Summer has finally arrived in So. Cal. Just in time for me to go back to work. It was 101 when I went to pick up kids today. UGH! And humid. UGH! Needless to say I tried to stay inside. My veggies are so confused. Its been averaging mid 80's and BAM! Although I will say, I planted some green bean seeds a few weeks ago and they are loving the heat. Go figure........
Tomorrow is my last day of vacation. So I spent today tying up loose ends. Doing laundry, researching car insurance, avoiding cleaning the kitchen floor, etc. I still gots lots to do tomorrow though. I could totally get used to this "stay at home mom" gig. Can't someone pay me to stay home and take care of my house and kids and husband? Actually I would love to work from home. Really, I would.
Anyhow, one of the things I needed to get done was make a baby card. One of my friends had a baby girl a few months ago. Yep, you heard me. I'm a little behind........again.
I tried greasing the creative gears. It was slow moving but I got 2 done. Which one should I send?
#1
Schoolbook Serif and Elements of Style sets. Melon mambo, pretty in pink and whisper white cardstock. Pretty in pink and whisper white inks. Square lattice embossing folder, pinking shears, stampamajig, pink gingham (retired), misc. buttons, paper piercer and dimensionals.
Kinda bright huh? For some reason all my baby cards have the word "baby" and use pinking shears. I'm not sure why that is. This is a funky size too, 3 3/4 x 6 1/2. It will fit in a business size envelope.
I would have actually sewed around the edges but I don't have a sewing machine. I stamped the Elements of Style in whisper white on the pretty in pink, cut around the egdes with the pinking shears and then ran it through the Lattice folder. Now you can just barely see the stamped part. I thought it looked like a soft blankie. I doubled up the buttons on the bow.
#2
Sweet Season and A Word for You sets. Pretty in pink, choc. chip and very vanilla cardstock. Pretty in pink and choc. chip ink. White taffeta ribbon, wide oval punch, old lacey stuff, pretty in pink button, stampamajig and dimensionals.
A year and a half ago I was a display stamper for Stampin' Up!'s convention. They sent me stamps and paper and buttons and ribbon and told me to make a million samples. Okay, not quite that many but it was alot. It was so much fun and I would do it again. Anyhow, I made this card back then:
I loved this card. I thought I was being so innovative. I always thought it could be a cute baby or anniversary card. So I thought I would copy it in pink.

I think the choc. chip looks a little dark here but I love how it turned out. I just cut a strip of scrap cardstock 1 1/4" wide and used that as my measuring template for the lines. Then I used my marker and inked up just the inside of the image, lined up Mr. Stampamajig and went for it.
I dyed some white taffeta with my pretty in pink pad. See here if you need a lesson on that. The lace is some that I've had since before the kids were born. NOW, SU! is selling some pretty lacey ribbon in the new catalog. They also sell Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon. I just don't have any.
I used my choc. chip marker to ink up the outside edge of the label image and the "baby" is from the new set, A Word for You. Very versatile set. Like it alot.
So which one should I send? I like them both. The momma of this baby would like them both. Decisions, decisions............
I'm going to sleep on it. Thanks so much for stopping by.

baby fishies or fishy babies?
Hey stampers,
I'm sick. I don't feel good. Someone send reinforcements! One of my kinders was kind enough to share his cold with me. Little booger.
Saturday we had the last concert for band. Look at my handsome baby
Saturday we had the last concert for band. Look at my handsome baby
The last concert of the season is called Music Under the Stars. Its outside, under the stars. Get it?
It was cold and really windy. They sounded great though. We also found out that we finally hired a new director for next year. YIPPEE!
Anyway, a friend of mine needed an idea for an underwater themed baby shower card. So this weekend I'd been playing around with ideas. I had 2 ideas floating around. What do you think?
Card #1:
"baby" from All Year Cheer II (retired a million years ago). Whisper white, gable green, green galore and tempting turquoise cardstock. Green galore and tempting turquoise inks. Wide oval punch, scallop edge punch, 2 step bird punch, 1/2", 3/4" and 1 1/4" circle punches, 1/4" circle punch, black journaler marker, cutter kit and dimensionals.
This one looks hard but is really easy to do.
I used the scissor part of the cutter kit. Makes awesome waves!
I used the wing from the 2 step bird punch to make the fins. Fancy fins! I feel like I'd like to so something different with his eye but I don't know what.
I used green for the fish because then you could use it for a boy or a girl. Green Galore and Gable Green are both being retired so if you like 'em, you better order 'em now.
Card #2:
"baby" from All Year Cheer II (retired a million years ago) and Fishy Friends (retired a million years ago) and Inspired by Nature ( I used something current!). Whisper white, tempting turquoise and watercolor paper. Tempting turquoise, brilliant blue, Melon mambo, Not quite navy, summer sun, old oilve and black Stazon. Aquapainter, 1 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches, dazzling diamonds, 2 way glue pen and dimensionals.
Rainbow Fish!!
Again, it looks kinda complicated but its really not. It didn't come out quite like I had envisioned. I wanted the fish to be more vibrant. I used Tempting Turquoise and did a wash on the watercolor paper. Then went back after it was dry and washed Not Quite Navy over the bottom part.
I don't have any "welcome baby" or " happy new baby" or smaller "congratulations" stamps so I had to go with "baby". Its all good.
Can you see the glitter on here? He is pretty glittery really. Why does Rainbow Fish have a yellow lip? It just doesn't seem to go. But lookee, he really does!
Robin says it does go, its just on mine, it looks stuck up and sassy. Oh well, I gotta work with what I got.
Okay, thats all for the fish. Fancy Pants, let me know if you have any questions or need a different idea.
The new catalogs are going live July 1st. Let me know if you'd like a copy. I'll be preordering them this week. I also have a few extra 2009-2010 catalogs left over too. Let me know if you'd like one.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm going to go drown my sorrows in Nyquil now.
Blessings, b.
