It has been an busy week with lots of things to get done and stamping just hasn't made it on the "to do" list. Can you believe it, lol! However, I am hoping to remedy that later in the weekend ;oP I made this card a week ago using some fun patterned paper from October Afternoon and the stamp sets Retro Boutique and Lovely Labels.
There are some great challenges this week over on Stamp TV and hope you will play along! Retro Boutique was the very first stamp set I ever won from Gina K. Designs and is one of my favorites! Gina is most gracious and offers a free stamp set of your choice to a randomly chosen winner for each challenge. Got to love the chance at free stamps...and a new release is right around the corner and so excited for what is coming!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

CHA Envy Challenges
There are three fun challenges over on Stamp TV for those of you not at CHA this year and a wee bit envious :o) A few of the moderators/illustrators are hosting challenges and giving away GKD stamp sets and even the new set coming at the next release from Melanie.
I managed to make three cards yesterday while Jeb napped. This is for the Color Challenge by Lee which was to use Black and Yellow. I used the floral image from Hugs and Prayers and the sentiment is from Retro Boutique. If you would like more details on the challenges, please click here: CHAENVY (hee-hee...I think the tags for the challenges are so funny... lol!)
***Edited to add, the challenges need to be uploaded by Saturday at 7 pm CST***
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by....

CSCC#66 - Clueless
It has been a busy few days around here. My mom came for a few days, dh and I went on a rare date night and then ds broke his arm on Tuesday :o( Yikes... Like I said, it has been busy...
I did manage to get this card made late last night. I had the idea for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge which was the movie Clueless this week (and to incorporate plaid into our project), and finally found an opportunity to create after things settled down for the night...I think I am a late night stamper, LOL! I thought as girly as the movie Clueless was I would definitely use some pink...
I found some DCWV plaid patterned paper and used matching colors Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette. I used the stamp set Retro Boutique and Nina's new label set Lovely Labels (and found plaid there... cool!) Obviously I couldn't stop there and also used some gingham pink ribbon from the Spring ribbon collection from GKD. :o) Lots of plaid and it is all good, hee-hee.
Be sure to check back later tonight when the next CCS Blog Hop goes LIVE...we are all sharing projects created with the new stamp set Hope is Faith from Gina K. Designs.
Have a wonderful day!

Just Us Girls #1 and #2
If you are looking for the Sketch Girls post, it is just below this one....
I had to make one more card for the Just Us Girls challenge and this time I combined both the first two challenges of this new site: paper piecing from this weeks challenge and their sketch from last week. I even incorporated the color pink (which I forgot last time!) :o)
Well, I think I have the pink covered this time! Gotta say, I love this sketch...anything with an oval makes me a happy stamper! The dress is from Retro Boutique and just the cutest little thing...
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Dress
Joy Hadden had a great Color Challenge over on Stamp TV yesterday using Pink and Navy Blue. I just adore these two colors together and instantly thought of paper piecing with polka dots the dress from Retro Boutique! I love this little dress and would love one of my own (albeit a bit larger and these arms need sleeves, LOL!)
I am tickled with how it turned out and let me tell you I played around with the ribbon trying to get it just right. I originally wanted Navy stitched ribbon (but couldn't find enough) and I even tried some wide organdy Navy ribbon, but it just didn't look right. So I settled with the pink. Sometimes you have to adjust... (NOW I need to get a hold of some more Navy Stitched Ribbon!) *~*
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Purse-onally...
I saw a card very similar to this one in a magazine using Retro Boutique (it was created by Carolyn King using blue...Scrap & Stamp Magazine I believe) and wanted to CASE it using different colors and doing the bottom corners with the tag corner punch. I used some retired SU designer paper and paper pieced the purses. I am tickled with how it turned out. I love red and black together, it really makes for a dramatic card.
Hope you have a great rest of your day!

Home Is...
I recently got the set Wreath of Wishes in a trade and used it for a sketch challenge. I paired it with a background I had stamped quite some time ago and found in my scrap bin. Not too bad when it works out for another card, LOL! :o) The background was stamped with two SU background stamps: Floral and French Script.
Today is a busy day for me, not only is it our 15th wedding anniversary (how did 15 years go by so fast?....Love you honey) ...but this evening our daughter has a piano recital that she has been preparing for since February. I made this card for her to celebrate her big day. :o) She has studied her piece so diligently and I just love listening to her practice. It is truly a beautiful sound....
Have a great day!

Retro Swirl
Carolyn King had a color challenge on StampTV last week (which was to use red, pink and black). I used Retro Boutique and the swirl from Whimsical Autumn to come up with this one. The dress was paper pieced using a piece of pink patterned dsp from SU. I was tickled with how well the swirl went with the Divine Swirl Cuttlebug folder and combined it without really thinking...I kind of went, duh, that works perfectly! :o)
Well, my youngest (almost 1 year old) is down with a double ear infection and strep throat! Absolutely NO fun! Thankfully the antibiotics will kick in soon :o)

Retro Christmas
This was a fun little card I made using the stamp set Retro Boutique from Gina K. Designs. I actually used a piece of chipboard on this card which is something I rarely do! I covered the label piece of chipboard with Dashing Designer Paper (which retired from SU). The cute little dress I stamped on Real Red and added some Puffy Paint and Dazzling Diamonds. I like the dimension with the Puffy Paint and the glitter really makes it just pop!
I have finally figured out how to include a link within a blog post and I am so stinkin' excited! This has boggled my mind for quite sometime (I wasn't losing sleep or anything, but *really* wanted to figure it out! :oP ) Now I can cross that off of my list of things to conquer...now I can move on to teaching my daughter to understand "why" she needs algebra in real life, teaching my son how NOT to get holes in the knees of every pair of pants he owns and getting my baby to sleep through the night....every night. :o) Have a great day!

Paper Piecing
One of my favorite techniques in paper crafting is paper piecing! It is a great way to use up all of those little designer paper scraps so that their is little to no waste. Gotta love that! I knew when the stamp set Retro Boutique was released by Gina K. Designs that it would be a good stamp set to use the paper piecing technique. The dress alone screams "Paper Piece me!", and the purses do as well! I love purses that have a cloth design to them...now it does mean more purses to coordinate with outfits, but it is all good! :o) Purses are just like shoes, you can never have enough...
Back to the card... I used the SU colors: Chocolate Chip, Pink Passion and WW because it coordinated beautifully with the Basic Grey Sultry 6x6 paper pad. I also used the Paisley BG from Stampin' Up! for the background design on the Pink Passion layer.
The purses were stamped with Staz On Black and then paper pieced using Basic Grey Sultry. All in all an easy card to put together. Have a great day!
