Altered Christmas Notebooks by Jodi!

Hi everyone!! Happy Thursday!!

Today I have a super fun and super simple project to share with you!! Altered composition notebooks!!

Now, I don't consider myself an altering type of gal, but I find that I am really LOVING altering things lately!!

These were SUPER simple to make! I took six plain mini composition notebooks that I have had FOREVER, and using the delicious cardstock and patterned papers from the Christmas Key Ingredients, I simply covered each of the books using a different pattern from the Holly by Golly patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket!

I then stamped six different cuppies, four from Season's Sweetings from Taylored Expressions, and two from Home Sweet Home by Taylored Expressions, all in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Buttercream cardstock.


ALL of the cuppies were colored with Copic Markers, and then cut and layered with Circle Nestabilities and Scallop Circle Nestabilities. All the sentiments were either punched out or cut out and then layered with cardstock from the Christmas Key Ingredients.

All the Cuppie panels were popped up with Foam Tape!

This close up is my favorite book that I made! I LOVE the sweet (giggle!) expression of this Cuppie and I LOVE how the holly bow on her head matches this yummy Jolly by Golly paper!!

Again, these were SUPER simple to make, and I think I am going to hand these out to all the kids for Christmas in my daughter's nursery school class!!

My Little Beach Bum Book!!

Hi everyone!! Happy Tuesday!!

I am excited to share a fun, bright and quick project with you all today!!

I LOVE to make lists...I get great pleasure from making a list of things that I have to do, and then crossing them off as I get them done...I guess that makes me a bit Type A right (grin!!).

I found this SUPER cute (and super bright) tropical lined notebook at Michaels last week at lunch (and it was in the $1 bin too!), and as soon as I saw it, I knew it would be PERFECT with any of the images from the Beach Bum set from Taylored Expressions!!

I started by stamping my sand castle building cuppie twice in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Choice Snow White Cardstock. I colored the cuppie, sand pail and sand shovel with Copic Markers and then cut them out. I then colored the entire image and framed it with Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities. Using Foam Tape from the Taylored Expressions Store (my absolute FAVORITE way to pop up my images!), I popped up the cuppie, pail and shovel!!

I anchored my image on a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that I ran through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, and added TONS of Taylor's Tiny Twinkles (I LOVE these!!!).

I finished off my happy little book with TONS of fun, bright ribbons!! I am going to keep this on my desk at work to brighten up my work day!!

*Honey Do* Book

We all have LOTS of fix-it things for our husbands to do, right? I know I do. "Honey do this, honey do that....." Well, here's a place to write it all down. {smile}

I found these notebooks (with the pen!) at Michael's in the dollar aisle...that's right, it only cost a dollar! They had a bunch of colors to pick from too. I knew I wanted to use some of the papers and ribbon from my Father's Day Key Ingredients so I picked up an orangey-red colored book.

Here's what the notebook looked like when I bought it. I turned it to accommodate the toolbelt image from the Boys Will Be Boys set. The pages on the inside of the book are completely blank without any lines, so it totally worked out to turn it on its side.



It was super easy (and fast) to make. I just cut a piece of the plaid DP to 4-3/8" x 2-7/8" as the "base" and then decorated it like a card. The white deckled rectangle is up on 1/16" foam tape and so is the sentiment on the double-ended tag. Taylor has both of these Spellbinders products in her store!

I made the "Honey Do Book" sentiment with my JustRite Lowercase Times New Roman Font, another product in the Taylored Expressions store! I love one-stop shopping!
